Prince William, Kate Middleton Found New Children’s Cancer Research & Treatment Center

The newly-married Prince William and Kate Middleton are always on the lookout for ways to help various charities, especially those involving children. On Monday, the royal couple will open the new Oak Centre for Children and Young People at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, Surrey, England. The children’s unit will specialize in cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education. William will unveil a plaque to officially open the children’s center before he and Kate Middleton , both 29, meet hospital staff, key donors and fundraisers. William was appointed President of The Royal Marsden Hospital in May 2007. The position was previously held by his mother, the late Princess Diana. The facility is one of the largest comprehensive children’s cancer centers in Europe, with 600 inpatients and more than 5,000 day patients every year. Back in April, William and Kate asked their wedding guests to donate to the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund in lieu of gifts. The guests obliged. John Galliano Found Guilty of Hate Crimes

John Galliano was found guilty of hate crimes in a Paris court yesterday. The fashion designer, who claimed a drug problem was the basis for his Anti-Semitic rant in February, received a light sentence on Thursday, as a judge issued a suspended fine of 6,000 euros ($8,500), as well as a symbolic one euro fine to one of the plaintiffs in the case. Galliano will not serve any jail time. Said the attorney for the former House of Dior employee: “It’s a fair decision and a wise decision by the tribunal. Mr Galliano is relieved after several months. He wishes to apologize and he acknowledges that he caused harm. I think he’s relieved that all this is now behind him.”

Kate Middleton Pregnant With Twins? Nope!

This rumor runs counter to all the recent Kate Middleton weight loss gossip, but it’s actually been reported that she and Prince William are expecting twins! Not the case. Tabloids recently claimed the 29-year-old Duchess is pregnant twice over, a palace rep tells Us Weekly that she is not currently expecting any children. “Suffice to say that were it true, it would be us that announces it, not a gossip magazine,” the couple’s rep tells the entertainment news rag. Kate Middleton Wedding Dress: Major Tourist Draw!

Ever since Kate Middleton’s wedding dress went on display, people from around the world have lined up at doors of Buckingham Palace to view a piece of history. In six weeks, the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding gown by Sarah Burton and Alexander McQueen has already been viewed by 350,000 visitors and counting. With one month to go, that number is expected to rise past 500,000. Among the first to check it out: Kate’s grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth . A spokesman for the Royal Collection says, “We’re thrilled that so many people have visited Buckingham Palace this summer in what looks to be a record year.” “The Royal Wedding attracted worldwide interest, so it’s only natural that many people want to come to experience the State Rooms used for the reception and take a closer look at The Duchess of Cambridge’s dress – which celebrates great British design.” Adult admission is $28.50, with the proceeds going to the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund, benefiting charities chosen by Prince William and Kate Middleton . Anne Hathaway Wants to Be Kate Middleton

Anne Hathaway is obsessed with Kate Middleton – her words , not ours – so it’s not a surprise that she’d love to portray her if such an opportunity ever arose. While both women are gorgeous, to say the least, Anne’s attempt at a British accent in her new rom-com One Day is enough to give the UK public pause. Their beloved princess’ voice mustn’t be butchered, after all. When faced with what surely sounded like an innocuous red-carpet question, Hathaway said she would not rule out the possibility of playing the Duchess. “Yes, why not,” she said . “She’s great. It’s such a fairy tale.” Commenters on the Sun (UK) website were not too thrilled. “Stay away from that role,” warns one, succinctly summing up the views of many who feel that despite Anne’s talent, “You have a rubbish British accent.” What do you think? Prince William and Kate Middleton: Such Dolls

Royal Wedding enthusiasts, listen up (talking to you, Anne Hathaway )! Hamley’s Toy Store in London has unveiled two foot-tall dolls depicting HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton, on their wedding day April 29. The miniature versions feature replicas of Prince William’s Irish Guards uniform, Kate Middleton’s wedding dress , ring, shoes, veil and tiara. The regal, surprisingly lifelike figurines retail for about $80 each . Earlier, the Franklin Mint had created a similar “Bridal Kate” doll. Also available: an “Engagement Kate” doll and “Kate Around London” doll that’s a lot of fun. No word if a Pippa Middleton series is also planned, but if it is, it will probably have about 50,000 Facebook fans before it’s even released to the public. [Photo: WENN.com]

They’re Here! Prince William, Kate Middleton Touch Down in L.A.

U-S-A! U-S-A! Following a string of appearances in Canada , the stylish and downright adorable royals, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have arrived in L.A. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge landed at LAX around 4 p.m. local time Friday, greeting Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Gov. Jerry Brown. Prince William took the lead and his stunning wife, who is making her first trip to the U.S., followed. She looked amazing. Big surprise there: The Duke and Duchess touch down in America . Kate pulled off a wardrobe change on the plane, having departed Canada in a scarlet Marianne coat-dress by Catherine Walker, only to arrive in a lavender Peridot dress designed by Roksanda Illinic and LK Bennett nude heels. After landing at LAX, the Royals were whisked off for official business. William and Catherine swung by The Beverly Hilton hotel for Variety ‘s Venture Capital and New Media Summit, discussing the U.K.’s technology innovations and new media, and meeting with representatives of different companies. Once that was over, they attended an outdoor reception held at the British Consulate-General residence, where he Duke and Duchess worked the crowd. All throughout the day, fans have been crowding the streets of Hancock Park near the house where Prince William and Kate Middleston will reside. Security is ridiculously tight. “Our primary concern is to protect the rights and privacy of the residents as well as the safety of the royal couple,” LAPD spokeswoman Mitzi Fierro said. Tomorrow’s itinerary includes a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club and then a glamorous evening at the BAFTA Awards. Welcome, William and Kate! [Photos: Fame Pictures]
