While it prematurely leaked last week, Atlantic Records drops the official video for Wiz Khalifa’s follow up single “Roll Up” which co-stars Cassie. Lil’ Kim nixes any possibility of reuniting with her old crew. When MTV’s Sway Calloway asked if there was a chance of a reunion, Kim simply replied, “No. Next question.” In particular, Kim and fellow group member Lil Cease had a falling-out, culminating in a $6 million suit in 2005 over a Junior M.A.F.I.A. DVD, with Kim suing Cease. But what about reuniting simply on a personal level? “At this point I would say never,” stated Kim. “Only God directs my life so I can’t say if I would ever speak to him in the future. Now, on the verge of delivering his major-label debut, Rolling Papers, the “Black and Yellow” star is set to grace the cover of the magazine, according to RapRadar . In the issue, he’s been named “Hip-Hop’s Rookie of the Year”; The Source bestowed the same honor on him back in November. Wiz Khalifa is sharing cover duties with “Jersey Shore” starlet Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi for the issue, dubbed the “Hot List” special, which arrives on newsstands Friday. MTV News’ “Hottest Breakthrough MC” winner — who won by a landslide, thanks to his Taylor Gang following — is riding high (pun intended) off the success of “Black and Yellow,” his hometown anthem that doubled at the Steelers’ soundtrack on their way to the Super Bowl. Wiz followed that number with “Roll Up,” which is currently #76 on Billboard ‘s Hot 100. “Black and Yellow” is still going strong, resting at #10 after hitting the top earlier this year. In January, MTV named Wiz Khalifa an “11 for ’11” celeb to watch, along with Dave Franco, Kim Kardashian and another “Jersey Shore” star, Deena Cortese. “I got a lot of work to do,” Wiz told MTV News shortly before receiving the nod. “I’ve done a lot of work to get where I’m at, but I have to keep working. But the Pittsburgh rapper continues to stay on the same grind that delivered him the MTV News’ Hottest Breakthrough MC crown last year and a selection as an 11 for ’11 pick this year. He released a mixtape offering, Cabin Fever, on Thursday night to satiate his fans before his official project drops on March 29 . ‘I’ve always had that Pittsburgh pride,’ MC says of performing his hometown anthem before Steelers take the field. The upstart rapper has been tapped by the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers to perform his breakout hit “Black and Yellow” before the team’s AFC championship game against the New York Jets on Sunday. One of MTV News’ 11 for 11 , the MC will take to Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field prior to the game’s 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff in hopes of helping the Steelers return to the Super Bowl. “I’ve always had that Pittsburgh pride. I just wanted to let people know where I’m from and represent any way I can, and what better way than through our colors?” Wiz said in a statement released by his label. “I took that hometown pride and put it in a song.” The news is just the latest is a line of accomplishments for the young lyricist. Earlier this month, Wiz and Snoop released a video for “That Good,” the pair’s first single from “High School,” their forthcoming collaborative movie and soundtrack. Late last year, the two breezy stars first joined forces for the G-mix “Black and Yellow” remix . As a longtime Steelers fan, Snoop had no problem giving it up on the Pit anthem. The Los Angeles native even donned the signature colors in the clip alongside Wiz, who sported a Steelers fitted hat, Pittsburgh Pirates jacket and custom Taylor Gang sweater in — what else? — black and yellow.
