Before celebrity weaves took a turn for the worst, these ladies did it best. Celebrities Who Had Good Weaves Back In The Day It’s no secret that celebrities have been wearing weaves for longer than most of us can remember. But even though it’s been happening for a while, it hasn’t always been popular. The saying goes that there’s nothing new under the sun, but these trendsetting tenderonis definitely gave life to the track game before it became common. Here’s a look at a few ladies of the limelight who pioneered the weave game early on with some of the most undetectable, natural looking locks we’ve seen.
Lookin’ more bangin’ than the beauty of the week! It’s hard to believe Nia Long is 42 right? The actress covers the upcoming April 8th issue of JET where she discusses her nearly 30-year career and her relationship with former NBA player Ime Udoka. Here’s a few details via JETmag.com : JET: Everyone’s buzzing about you reprising the role of Jordan in The Best Man Holiday (out November 15). The original was definitely a classic film— but it’s been almost 15 years. Why do a sequel now? We made magic together— so many people say that to me. And because I love the cast. The film’s director, Malcolm Lee, has been talking about it for some time and finally announced his plan during a recent cast reunion dinner. JET: Any details you can dish on the movie? Well, we’re not shooting until late April in Toronto so I can’t say much, but everybody is really excited to revisit our stories and find out what happens next. Where is Jordan now? Did she get married? Did she break up a relationship? It’s like reading a great book; you want to see what the next chapter is. JET: You’ve been part of several iconic flicks, like Boyz n the Hood and Love Jones, but we hear that acting wasn’t always your dream career? I wanted to be a pediatrician. One of the most life-changing challenges I experienced growing up was realizing that there simply wasn’t enough money for me to go to college. So I decided to focus on working. I promised that I’d give myself one year from the day I graduated from high school to make moves in the business. I was acting since I was 15, and I really wanted to help my mom, who was struggling. JET: But your current career path isn’t necessarily the most stable… That’s very true. Actors only have job security from the time we’re on set until they say cut. But, deep down inside I knew it would work out for me. Luckily, I was also naive. What’s the saying? Ignorance is bliss. I had a wonderful acting coach who didn’t focus on fail-ure, only working. JET: Speaking of success, you’ve been in a relationship with former pro-basketball player Ime Udoka for almost three years. How do you make it work… especially now that he lives in another state? Ime and I are very much a family. We’re both committed to being good to each other and being great parents. He operates on faith, and we share that. If not, it would be difficult to maintain with him working as a coach in San Antonio. The challenge is the times when I’m exhausted and here with the kids by myself. I have homework, bath time, dinner, laundry and all the other things that every mother has to do because, in essence, I’m physically a part-time single mom. We’re glad to hear they’re still going strong. Nia got her a good one huh!

The 6-foot-2-inch stunner isn’t shy about her svelte figure. “I’ve got a ways to go, but hard work is paying off!” she wrote. Eating clean and training hard!” Good for her. More importantly, it’s good to see Ireland and her dad on good terms these days after some of their tumultuous times a few years back.
The ghost of Biggie Smalls – as well as the late rapper’s children – are set to star in a new animated TV show. Seriously. This is an actual project. The show will focus on Biggie Smalls’ offspring and how they’re running his New York recording studio, producers from Ossian Media said. House of Wallace will star T’yanna Wallace, 19, and C.J. Wallace, 16, voicing their animated likenesses. The hip-hop legend’s kids said in a statement: “It’s been 16 years since our Dad was murdered and we miss him dearly.” “It is such an honor for us to be able to carry on his legacy , not only through his music but also by channeling him through our own creativity.” ” House Of Wallace is a great opportunity to bridge the gap between our parents who loved his music and [those who were] not around to really appreciate it.” Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. Notorious B.I.G., a.k.a. Biggie Smalls, was murdered in 1997. He was only 24 years old; the crime remains unsolved. While the media group has yet to partner with a network, it has a few in mind to bring this to fruition. Another major selling point? B.I.G.’s music. The series will reportedly feature original songs, as well as re-imagined renditions of some of the many classics from the Chris Wallace catalog. It is not known who will voice Biggie Smalls’ ghost, but the rapper’s spirit is expected to be a central character on the series, mentoring the kids. The ghost will “appear in ethereal form to guide them through the adversities they face as they struggle to preserve their father’s labor of love.” It’s no Tupac hologram … but we’re intrigued.

A Maryland father claims that his seven-year-old son was suspended from school for chewing a breakfast Pop Tart into what appeared to be a gun. According to local news reports, the child was suspended for two days. “It was already a rectangle and I just kept on biting it and biting it and tore off the top and it kind of looked like a gun but it wasn’t,” 7-year-old Josh Welch said. Josh admits trying to create a masterpiece out of the breakfast pastry. “All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but it didn’t look like a mountain really,” Josh said. “[My teacher] was pretty mad … I think I was in big trouble.” It wasn’t just for chewing it into a weapon … he brandished it as well. Josh’s dad admits his son said he made “bang bang” noises while holding the Pop Tart, which was likely not looked highly upon by his instructor. School officials have not commented, citing privacy concerns. Boys will be boys, as they say, especially in second grade… but what if the dad opted to whip up a nice berry cobbler recipe for breakfast instead? No bang-bang noises. Just saying.
