During a live video web chat with Marie Claire , Angelina Jolie revealed that she had a “complete meltdown” recently and that Brad Pitt found her crying in the shower. When we heard that, several theories came to mind: She was devastated by the plight of refugees Jennifer Aniston is pining for Brad again Angelina Jolie is pregnant for reals Turns out it was something much simpler: Nerves. Before production began on her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey , she felt the task was too daunting: “I thought, ‘Who am I to take this on?'” “I had a complete emotional breakdown in the shower and Brad [Pitt] found me crying,” Jolie revealed. “I felt this huge responsibility and I felt very small.” “I didn’t plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I’m a director. I just wanted to tell this story and I ended up by default being the director.” “It was a pleasure, to say the least, but I wonder if it would be a pleasure with another cast and crew, and a subject matter that wasn’t so special.” Jolie’s film is nominated for a Golden Globe. ‘Twilight’ Tuesday looks forward to all the vampires making their debut in the November 2012 finale. By Kara Warner Dakota Fanning as a Volturi in “New Moon” Photo: Summit Entertainment Looking ahead to November, when we finally get to see the end of the “Twilight” franchise in “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” there are many things to get excited about. For starters, Bella is now a vampire, Renesmee is growing up and the Volturi are back. But what I am most looking forward to are all the fresh vampires. There are so many new characters, not to mention the fun involved in the adventurous search for allies, getting the group together, bonding over things like eating habits and fighting against the Volturi. Therefore, in the spirit of MTV Movies’ Ones to Watch in 2012 , this “Twilight” Tuesday is dedicated to the ones to watch in “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” — which if you didn’t already know, is also a big part of our MTV Movie Brawl 2012 . Before I get to my favorite new additions, “Twilight” vampire expert and star Peter Facinelli had these kind words to say about a few of his new castmates when MTV News caught up with him: “There’s Maggie Grace; she’s fantastic. Christian Camargo is fantastic and Juilliard-trained. I always wish I went to Juilliard, so when I meet people from Juilliard, I’m always jealous,” he said. “Mia Maestro — there’s so many talented people that were tapped. It’s a much larger cast.” Clearly, Facinelli has a thing for the Denali coven, which we got a glimpse of in “Part 1” during Bella and Edward’s wedding. The Denali clan is another group of vegetarian vamps consisting of Irina (Grace), former Volturi Eleazar (Camargo) and his multilingual mate Carmen (Maestro). The Denalis are, indeed, a nice bunch. My personal favorite new vampire, however, is Garrett, the American nomad played by charming and adorable actor Lee Pace (“Pushing Daisies,” “The Fall”). I remember liking him from the moment Stephenie Meyer introduced him, due to the 6-foot-2 factor, his curiosity and his adventurous nature. His character has a nice arc, which I’ll avoid spoiling fully here, and Pace is the absolute perfect actor to play him. Fellow fan and creator of the Kristen Stewart Hot Bodyguard Facebook page Sarah M. also brought up JD Pardo, who plays the other vamp/human hybrid Nahuel. “He was super nice at the BD1 premiere & ain’t too hard on the eyes either!” she tweeted . What do you think, “Twilight” fans? Who are other ones to watch in “Breaking Dawn – Part 2”? Let us know in the comments or tweet me @karawarner! It’s still unclear whether or not Robert Pattinson actually plans to release an album . But if the actor ever does choose to add “musician” to his resume, girlfriend Kristen Stewart has made sure he’s prepared: Us Weekly confirms the Twilight Saga star purchased two vintage guitars for Robert over Christmas, a 1959 Fender Jazzmaster and a 1947 K&F Lap Steel. Total price tag: $12,000. “She said ‘He’s gonna sh-t when he sees them!'” Norman Harris, the owner of Norman’s Rare Guitars and the man who sold the items to Stewart, told the tabloid . It’s unclear what Rob got Kristen in return, but this much is certain: despite various rumors to the contrary , these two are doing just fine. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]
Singer popped the question during a vacation in the Maldives. By Jocelyn Vena John Legend and Chrissy Teigen in November Photo: Jeff Kravitz/AMA2011/FilmMagic John Legend is officially off the market. The singer asked his girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen, to marry him over the holidays. The couple confirmed the news in a statement to People. “John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives,” a rep confirmed. People reports that while little else is known about how they celebrated the good news, Legend will be in Las Vegas this weekend performing at the Pearl at the Palms on New Year’s Eve. “We validate or shut down whatever each of us is doing,” Legend told People in May about how the pair help style one another. “[It’s] all of the time. We were together when we picked out our clothes today. She’s better [at it]. It’s harder to dress a woman — there are so many options and accessories. For guys we only have so many elements.” The couple began dating in 2007. Teigen is best known for her work as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. It’s a big week for Legend, who will also celebrate his birthday Wednesday. Legend and Teigen weren’t the only pair who got engaged over the holidays: Matthew McConaughey popped the question to his model girlfriend, Camila Alves, on Christmas Day. He took to Twitter to share the good news. “Just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas,” he tweeted, also posting a photo of him and Alves kissing next to Christmas decorations. ‘Twilight Tuesday’ rounds up video of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner talking the wedding, honeymoon and being shirtless. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment We knew 2011 was going to be a big year in the world of “Twilight” news. The fanbase seemed to keep growing by the hour, as did the excitement surrounding the release of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1.” The release of a new “Twilight” film also meant that we’d be seeing a lot of the blockbuster franchise’s superstars as they promoted the film — and, boy, was MTV News lucky with how much time we ended up spending with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the gang this year. As such, this week’s “Twilight Tuesday” is dedicated to the best and brightest of those interviews with our favorite stars. Our first encounter with a “Twilight” star was our chat with Pattinson at the Golden Globes, during which he provided us with a giggly reaction to the first “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” still of Bella and Edward in bed , as well as his positive reviews of Stewart playing a vampire . “It’s like she wanted to do it the entire time,” he told us. “It’s really funny, it’s like a completely different environment on set when she’s a vampire and when she’s not. I think she’s going to do it really well.” There were also plenty of teases about the film’s most highly anticipated scenes, including the wedding of Edward and Bella and the honeymoon sex scene. Of seeing Stewart in a wedding dress during the filming of their characters’ nuptials, Pattinson said, “She looked amazing. I really didn’t do much than just stand there.” Stewart later said of the experience: “It was very, very emotional for me.” Pattinson added, “You kind of realize what the groom’s position in a wedding is, which, in reality, is basically a prop. You stand there in a suit, and then everyone is looking at the girl.” One scene in which everyone was most certainly not just looking at the girl is the first sex scene between Edward and Bella on their wedding night. “I think we had some really interesting ideas about [the love scene],” Pattinson said when we caught up with him at the “Water for Elephants” press junket . “It’s kind of interesting, as well, having to do it in the context of PG-13. It makes it more interesting.” Speaking to all the hype about the big moment, Pattinson said that although there was a lot of pressure to deliver some major fireworks in the scene, he was confident he’d give a convincing performance. “That’s the one time I have felt like the coolest person,” Pattinson admitted with a laugh. “I was like, ‘This is easy!’ I can fulfill people’s sexual fantasy expectations without even thinking, piece of cake. That isn’t acting,” he joked. “The only thing [that was difficult] is the vanity aspect,” Pattinson continued. “Taylor [Lautner] just ruined the whole series for me. As soon as he buffed up, I’m like, ‘Well, I’m throwing in the towel’ on ‘New Moon.’ ” Speaking of Lautner and his chiseled abs, the heartthrob told us that he had to actively campaign to director Bill Condon and the powers that be to limit his amount of shirtlessness in the film, much to the disappointment of his devoted fan following. “I got it down to one time, one time in the movie, and it literally lasts for two seconds,” Lautner said proudly of his single shirtless shot. “There was some negotiating for sure. There was more [shirtless scenes] when I read the original script, trust me,” he said. “And I got it down to a very, very small amount, which I was so happy with.” Other interview highlights included the unexpected, off-the-cuff, informal moments wherein our favorite stars played ball with a few of our more-outlandish requests and questions. Case in point: When we asked Jackson Rathbone to help read off a few of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees in song, which he did in good spirits and with aplomb. Then there was the “Breaking Dawn” version of the always-entertaining “Yes/No Show” with Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner. And those are just a small collection of our favorites from 2011 alone. Only time will tell what 2012 will bring as we gear up for the “epic” conclusion to the franchise, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” It goes without saying that we can’t wait. The holidays always bring out the crazy, but this is absurd. A version of Nike’s Air Jordan 11 Retro Concord shoe went on sale at midnight, with crowds lining up at stores across the country before they were even open. An early crowd in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, outside D.C., had to dispersed by police this morning after chaos and unruliness ensued, authorities said. In Loudoun County, Virginia, more than 250 people gathered in a parking lot at the Dulles Town Center Mall because of advertised sales starting at 3 p.m. Some managed to enter the mall before it opened, authorities said, overwhelming deputies and mall security and prompting frantic calls for assistance. No arrests were made, though one woman suffered a leg injury and a pickpocketing was reported. Tickets for entry were later distributed by lottery. In Annapolis, mall security requested police assistance around 5:30 a.m. Friday when an impatient crowd grew to over 500 people, according to reports. In Indianapolis, a store’s door was torn off its hinges, while an Atlanta crowd also knocked down doors, and police had to pepper spray Seattle mall-goers. Hey. This is a once-in-a-lifetime basketball shoe. Burns from pepper spray heal eventually, but there will never be another MJ. Just think about that.
