Summit Entertainment alleges a group in Argentina is behind leaked images. By Terri Schwartz Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment When Robert Pattinson asks, he receives. Summit Entertainment released a press release Monday (August 1) announcing that it has tracked down some of the alleged people responsible for leaked images from the upcoming “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and has taken legal action. In the release, the production company said the March leak came from the town of Posadas in northern Argentina, but since there may be more people involved, the investigation is still ongoing. Specifically, Summit is identifying Daiana Santia as allegedly being involved in the group that stole the images and footage. Civil action has been filed in the U.S. and Argentina, while criminal action has also been filed in Argentina. The images released were from Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s (Pattinson) honeymoon scene and some of the final shots of the flick when Bella transforms into a vampire. When MTV News caught up with Pattinson shortly after the incident occurred, he was obviously very annoyed by the whole situation. “It’s just ridiculous. I literally can’t believe that it happened,” he said. “I want the ‘Twilight’ troops to mobilize, all the good fans, and find out who these little sh–s are and just hack into their computers and destroy them. … I’m being genuinely serious, ‘Twilight’ fans.” Summit hired law firm Keats McFarland & Wilson LLP to search four continents (North America, South America, Europe and Australia) to find the people behind what director Bill Condon called a “deeply upsetting” experience. Summit Executive Vice President David C. Friedman released a statement in the press release about the situation, saying that a strong fan community should not result in property theft. “While we very much appreciate the legions of committed fans of the franchise and encourage them to create community online, we cannot ignore that property was stolen,” he said. “It is not fair to the majority of fans that want to see the final chapter of the ‘Twilight Saga’ film franchise fully realized by the filmmaker and dedicated cast and crew to have these images out and available on the Internet.” In the earlier MTV News interview, Pattinson said the people involved in the incident could not even be considered fans. “It’s raw footage; it’s not even what people are going to see,” he said “Why do this maliciously? You’re not a fan. You’re just a di–.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘She’s gone; you’re not putting these clothes back on,’ Julia Jones recalls to MTV News of saying goodbye to her character, Leah. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Julia Jones Photo: MTV News After filming “Eclipse” and the two-part “Breaking Dawn,” Julia Jones can call herself a “Twilight Saga” veteran. But that doesn’t mean she found going to Comic-Con for the first time any less intimidating. MTV News caught up with Jones in San Diego after the “Breaking Dawn” cast’s packed Hall H panel . Unfortunately, her castmates hadn’t given her much of a heads-up about the insanity of Comic-Con. “We’ve been in front of a lot of people before but this is a new experience for me, Comic-Con,” Jones said. While her fellow castmembers had helped her prepare for the experience of doing fan events for “Eclipse,” Jones said this time they figured she would get the hang of things. “Now I think they just don’t pay attention: ‘She’s been here long enough, she’ll figure it out.’ ” In “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” Jones and the rest of the wolf pack are featured much more than they have been in previous installments, which gave the actress some room to expand on her character, Leah Clearwater. While Leah is characterized by her anger at Bella (Kristen Stewart) and the Cullens in “Eclipse,” in “Breaking Dawn,” fans will see that her rage has been tempered because a good portion of the story is told from werewolf Jacob Black’s (Taylor Lautner) perspective. “I was thrilled when I read [the script] because she really has the opportunity to kind of grow and she’s not so angry anymore,” Jones explained. “I felt relieved for her when I read that, oh, my gosh, she can actually express these things she hasn’t expressed and go somewhere with it.” As for the last day of shooting the “Twilight” series, Jones admitted that she may have shed a few tears in her trailer when director Bill Condon shouted “Cut!” for the last time. The long shoot made it seem as if filming would never end, she explained, and that made saying goodbye that much harder. “For me, personally, the last day, right when we wrapped, I didn’t believe it. I hadn’t even thought that that was possible. I just stood there like a zombie. People started hugging, like, ‘You’re wrapped, you’re wrapped!’ Like, ‘Go, what are you doing? We need to move on,’ ” Jones said with a laugh. “I actually went back to my trailer and I was fine, I was a little in a daze. And I realized as I was taking my costume off that this is it. She’s gone; you’re not putting these clothes back on. And that was kind of a big thing for me.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Director Bill Condon says ‘Twilight’ star deftly tackles finale’s most emotional scenes. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: Summit Entertainment “Twilight” fans who’ve already read the best-selling books upon which the films are based have a sense of what to expect from the final two films when they hit theaters. Specifically, what emotional ups and downs will unfold onscreen, and which characters will be most impacted. “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon recently revealed to MTV News what he predicts will be the most emotional moments in the final installments. He also opened up about how stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have tackled the acting challenges presented to their characters, Bella and Edward. ( Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read the books.) “There’s this really quiet moment when Bella discovers that she’s pregnant and Edward leaves the room having said, ‘Carlisle will get that thing out of you,’ ” Condon recalled, “and she realizes, ‘Oh my god, I’ve got trouble ahead.’ “Edward, the person she’s been longing for all this time is actually on the other side of this very basic issue about this baby that’s growing inside of her, and she puts all that aside and she turns and she has a moment where she catches herself in this mirror. It’s actually a scene, just Kristen alone, where she falls in love with the idea of being a mother and it’s just simple, but I think it’s very moving.” Condon went on to say that Pattinson’s work in the film is equally moving, noting how much he has evolved as an actor. “[Edward] really becomes an adult [in this film],” Condon said. “In the beginning, he has this beautiful toast to [Bella] where he talks about, ‘You’re so lucky if you find that one person who can see you for who you are and still accept you and allow you to move beyond who you’ve been.’ And that’s what Rob does in this movie,” the director added, “He sort of puts aside Edward’s self-loathing and all that stuff and actually becomes a man. “So at the end, when Bella’s given birth and she’s died and he’s trying to bring her back, there is stuff in there where the camera just holds him for a long time where he’s just doing everything he can think of to make her live and to beg her to live,” Condon revealed. “It’s just really powerful.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . During a 2008 interview , Kristen Stewart revealed that she’d be starring in K-11 , a movie her mother Jules wrote and would direct. About that. Casting has been announced and the Twilight star won’t actually appear in her mom’s directorial debut, though another Stewart will. Nothing scandalous here — unless busy schedules are scandalous — though you just know Jules Stewart is going to start every phone call to her daughter with, “Well, your brother…” [ Variety ]
