Emma Watson ‘Couldn’t Compete’ With Pattinson/Lautner Kiss

‘Harry Potter’ star tells MTV News that all the Movie Awards smooching had her feeling left out. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday Photo: Steve Granitz/Getty Images Aside from the much-anticipated premiere of a new “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” clip during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, it was a pretty quiet night for Team Potter, who sat and watched as “Twilight” reaped (nearly) all the awards , besting “Deathly Hollows, Part 1” for Best Movie, Best Male and Female Performance, Best Fight Scene and Best Kiss. In fact, “Potter” took home just one bucket of Golden Popcorn — Tom Felton’s turn as Draco Malfoy earned him Best Villain honors — and as if that weren’t bad enough, it was the stars of “Twilight” who garnered the lion’s share of the headlines too, as everything from Robert Pattinson’s lip-lock with co-star Taylor Lautner to the squeeing reactions to the “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” trailer burned up search engines in the hours following the show. So you could imagine what it must have been like for the “Harry Potter” stars who were actually on hand for the Movie Awards — like, for example, Emma Watson, who not only lost Best Female Performance to Kristen Stewart, but didn’t even get to see the kiss between Pattinson and Lautner. “I missed this moment! I came out, and they were like, ‘Rob just missed Taylor!’ and I was like, ‘Damn!’ ” Watson told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz following the show. “I was still backstage [after introducing the ‘Deathly Hallows, Part 2’] clip, so I missed it. But, I mean, yeah, good on them!” And as if missing out on the kiss-to-end-all-kisses wasn’t bad enough, the whole lip-locking theme of the night had Watson feeling left out. Seems she was the only person who didn’t have someone to kiss. “I mean, I was really up against it. Kristen [Stewart] had two kisses, and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman making out,” she laughed. “I mean, I couldn’t really compete!” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Trailer: Best Fan Squeals And Sighs

Twilighters recorded their reactions to the teaser, and we picked our faves. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” trailer Photo: Summit Entertainment At the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner presented the first look at the trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” Knowing what a fan frenzy the first teaser would create, we asked our dedicated viewers and readers to record and upload their squeal-tastic “Breaking Dawn” reactions to Your.MTV.com , and promised that the top videos would air on MTV’s ” The Seven ” on Monday (June 6). Naturally, you did not disappoint. The winning video is, as expected, chock-full of all the things we’ve come to know and love from the most die-hard “Twilight” fans: girlish squeals and gasps of delight, jumping up and down, sighs and swoons all over the place. It is filled with such genuine adoration and emotion, it’s almost impossible not to be charmed by the two adorable young ladies from Denmark, who posted their video with the user name AgneteFlygerHansen . (CHECK OUT PHOTOS OF THE “TWILIGHT” CAST’S BIG MOVIE AWARDS NIGHT.) In addition to the delighted Danes, Sophia from Hawaii sent in her less vocal but equally intense reaction, followed by Jessika from Tennessee, who tried to control her excited screams by reacting silently. She puts her hands in front of her face, jumps up and down a bit, giddily, but keeps herself from going from silent, shaky glee to full-on screaming. Finally, there is AisyDaisyLady in Michigan, who also practices some of the quiet restraint Jessika did, but in doing so, comes closer to shedding more tears of joy than her fellow submitters. The reactions don’t stop there. We also solicited expert opinions from a few of the most devoted and trusted fan sites . “I am blown away. I can’t believe they showed as much as they did,” Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com gushed. “I’m so excited. I didn’t think they would hit as many points as they did. I am very pleased with Bill Condon and how he treated it.” “Completely amazing, completely mind-blowing. Up until this, my favorite trailer was the ‘New Moon’ trailer, and Bill Condon definitely got Chris Weitz; it’s got everything in it that you need,” said Laura Byrne-Cristiano of TwilightLexicon.com . “That’s pretty steamy for a PG-13 movie,” she added. “The thing that made me laugh in a good way right away was Rob Pattinson gripping that headboard, and hearing that crack noise is spectacular.” “The trailer was fantastic,” Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com weighed in. “It had way more than I thought it would, but it still just wasn’t quite enough. … I was so excited that they had Bella pregnant. The fans are excited about that and we got to see it. I am thrilled; can’t wait to see the next.” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘X-Men: First Class’ Finishes First At Box Office

The superhero prequel outclasses sequels ‘The Hangover Part II’ and ‘Kung Fu Panda 2’ in the weekend’s box-office tally. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Kristen Stewart and Nicki Minaj Everyone saw the way Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner bonded at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . But behind the scenes, their “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” co-star Kristen Stewart was doing some bonding of her very own — albeit of a very different sort. During one of the night’s many wins for “Twilight,” Stewart accepted the award for Best Female Performance from a bearded Ashton Kutcher and rapper Nicki Minaj. When MTV News caught up with Minaj backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre immediately after she handed over Stewart’s Golden Popcorn, she filled us in on something about her and Kristen that viewers at home wouldn’t have otherwise known. “[Kristen] had shoes on that didn’t hurt her feet. And she didn’t care that they looked really kind of crusty,” Minaj pointed out. “But I did too! I had my Uggs on backstage. “So that made me bond with her,” she added. “She’s cute.” A fast friendship with another female celebrity in an awards-show setting isn’t unprecedented for Minaj. The Young Money rapper chatted with “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards earlier this year. In fact, Minaj declared herself “obsessed” with Snooki, and Snooki relayed the same sentiment right back. Her outgoing elbow-rubbing isn’t confined to fellow females, of course. “Ashton Kutcher is a lot of fun,” she said of the newly minted “Two and a Half Men” star and her co-presenter. “We’re cool.” The always-fashionable performer has gotten increasingly used to public speaking outside of her musical performances, as evidenced by her complete lack of pre-show jitters at Movie Awards. “I wasn’t nervous at all today — for one of the only times I can remember,” she said. “This was fun!” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner Share Steamy Movie Awards Kiss

RPattz tells fellow Best Kiss winner Kristen Stewart that Lautner would just ‘appreciate it a little more.’ By Terri Schwartz Robert Pattinson kisses Taylor Lautner at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The third time was the charm for three-time MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss winners Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart … or, at least, it should have been. For the past two years, the “Twilight” stars have teased Movie Awards audiences with almost-kisses as they accepted their award. So on Sunday night (June 4), when presenters Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds announced that RPattz and KStew had won for their smooch in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” it seemed this year’s show would finally bring the big moment fans have been waiting for. Well, er, it wasn’t. “I feel bad because I don’t feel like kissing you,” Pattinson apologized to Stewart onstage. “You don’t want to kiss me, do you?” Stewart, though, seemed more willing. “Well, it’s been a long time and I think maybe we should finally go for it,” she said to cheers from the crowd. But Pattinson still wasn’t having it. “I just think there’s someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more,” he said. Cue the camera cutting to a stone-faced Taylor Lautner. “Go get him,” Stewart encouraged. Pattinson then took to the Gibson Amphitheatre floor running. As the audience screamed in excitement, he leaned over and gave Lautner a full-on smooch on the lips as his werewolf co-star wrapped an arm around him. Of course, Lautner also wiped his mouth immediately after (too much tongue?), but Pattinson wasn’t done. Soon he was right back onstage going after Stewart — for real. She squealed, “No!” and ran away laughing. “What? I want to take you back stage!” Pattinson said with a flirty grin. And the pair made their dramatic and hilarious exit … but still no kiss. Foo Fighters ‘Bringing It Hard’ To MTV Movie Awards

‘It’s going to be a whole other level,’ drummer Taylor Hawkins promises MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Jim Cantiello and Sway Calloway Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl rehearses for the MTV Movie Awards on Friday Photo: John Shearer/WireImage.com On Sunday, the Foo Fighters will take the stage at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . The band, known for passionate, ear-bleeding rock and roll, will certainly have A-listers like Nicki Minaj, Emma Stone and Kristen Stewart rocking out in the audience. It’s the first time the Foos have performed on the show since 2005, and they are taking it all in stride. But what can fans expect when the band takes the Gibson Amphitheatre stage in Universal City, California? Moments after they wrapped their rehearsal, drummer Taylor Hawkins told MTV News, “It’s going to be a whole other level. Stuff you’ve never seen before. I can’t give that stuff away.” Frontman Dave Grohl did reveal what song they’ll be playing, but didn’t give away much else. “We’re playing the song ‘ Walk ,’ which we just made the video for ,” he said. “Bringing it hard to the movie people! Yeah, Hollywood!” They aren’t the only ones excited about the performance. MTV Movie Awards Executive Producer Mark Burnett said the band’s sure-to-be-epic performance will be a highlight. “There’s always fun stuff. The big things this year, which I cannot wait [for, is] Foo Fighters,” he said. “Which, I mean, I think you can’t go wrong with an epic rock band at the Movie Awards.” Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz will also be on the show for the first TV performance of their song “Out of My Head,” followed by Lupe solo on “The Show Goes On.” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Movie Awards Tip To Celebs: Pass (And Drop) The Golden Popcorn!

‘Let it slip. It’s no problem!’ laughs Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, in search of good post-show gossip. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Cantiello Photo: MTV News If there’s one request Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, the woman in charge of handling the Movies Awards’ Golden Popcorn trophies, has for celebs as they prepare for Sunday’s big show, it’s please, please drop the Popcorn. It all started back in 2009, when Kristen Stewart dropped the Golden Popcorn statue she’d just received for Best Female Performance in “Twilight.” The starlet was awkward (and adorable) about the misstep, and the moment is now part of MTV Movie Awards history. Fast-forward to 2010: no dropped awards. Apparently last year’s celebs didn’t want to repeat KStew’s stumble, so they came prepared — with steady hands and good balance. And, of course, that was a good thing, except that it meant Dela Rosa didn’t have too many juicy celeb anecdotes for us when we asked her to dish some dirt after the show. Stewart’s slip in ’09 had gotten us a cute story about how the “Breaking Dawn” star asked Movie Awards staff for her broken Popcorn only to find out they had already tossed it. But last year? “Nothing, not a thing,” Dela Rosa said. “Celebrities, please help us out. Give us a story.” She even suggested that stars give the audience a little fake-out, a tease. “Drop it. Let it slip. It’s no problem!” she joked. With Jim Carrey set to present at the Movie Awards and Jason Sudeikis as the show’s host, she may get her wish. Will Kristen Stewart Sit By Rob Or Taylor At MTV Movie Awards?

How about both? Jim Cantiello takes us behind the seating process before Sunday’s big show. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Cantiello and the seating cards for Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson at the Gibson Amphitheatre Photo: MTV News The 2011 MTV Movie Awards are only days away, and that means all the finishing touches are being made inside the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. MTV News’ Jim Cantiello was on hand as the seating cards were placed inside the theater, and he learned which of Hollywood’s biggest stars would be rubbing elbows during Sunday’s big show. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year, you guys: Seat cards are down at the Movie Awards!” Jim said from inside the Gibson. “This is where all the A-listers are going to be sitting, and look! MTV Movie Awards isn’t making a decision between Team Edward and Team Jacob,” Jim noted, pointing out that Kristen Stewart will be placed smack-dab in the middle of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, much like her character in “Twilight.” When we caught up with Movie Awards seating manager Stephan Lenart , he explained how he goes about choosing who sits where. “It’s like a puzzle,” he said, adding that he reads up on a ton of entertainment blogs to determine which celebs are in the spotlight before deciding where to seat them. Jim has a special explanation for how one celeb ended up with her seat: “We have Nicki Minaj here with three empty seats. MTV gave her plenty of room for all of her personalities,” he joked about the presenter. Other seating assignments include R&B superstar Trey Songz sitting next to … “Super 8” director J.J. Abrams? “Here we have frequent collaborators Trey Songz and J.J. Abrams, creator of ‘Lost.’ ” Other big attendees and nominees include Emma Stone, Generation Award winner Reese Witherspoon , Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Selena Gomez, Cameron Diaz, Leighton Meester, Katie Cassidy, Shia LaBeouf, Patrick Dempsey, Josh Duhamel and many more. Where everyone will be sitting come the big night could lend itself to some interesting, unexpected moments. Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ?
