Late Night Highlights: Ricky Gervais On His Musician Days and Randy Jackson On an Idol Comedy Week

Even David Letterman got in on the upfront action last night — by joking that NBC hired a T-shirt vendor to check for bombs at their New York City presentation yesterday — before continuing his “Why Can’t It All Just Be a Dream?” campaign to Lost . Tina Fey ‘Innovents’ New Ways To Give NBC the Middle Finger on 30 Rock

You’ve really got to hand it to Tina Fey. While you would think that jokes about NBC are in the “What’s the deal with airplane food?” stage of comedy at this point, she continues to find new and exciting ways to wet willy her bosses — like reducing the Leno/Conan war to a shift debate between two janitors.

Late Night Highlights: Jay Leno Wrestles a Wolf, Jon Stewart Defends South Park and J. Lo Finds Her Monroe

You might not know this, but every night at 11:35 P.M., dog pounds around the nation adjust the rabbit ears on their archaic black-and-white television sets and tune in for the Tonight Show monologue. They howl at what they think are the good jokes (“Happy Earth Day Kev!”), whimper at the bad (“In Beverly Hills, recycling plastic means remarrying your ex-wife”) and then dream about Jay Leno adopting them and letting them live inside his thousand-car garage. Well, that all changed during last night’s show, when dog orphans around the country watched in horror as Leno awkwardly shushed and coldly patted their distant relative, the American Gray Wolf, during his Earth Day segment. “Aw, hell no,” they thought, before switching the channel to Lopez Tonight . That sad clip, as well as the other highlights you missed while getting in touch with your inner Glee kid , after the jump.

Late Night Highlights: Jennifer Lopez’s Diva Test, Obama’s Gaywatch and Shatner’s ’80s Classic

Last night, Jay Leno decided to get to the bottom of those nasty diva rumors swirling around Jennifer Lopez when the actress stopped by to promote her movie The Back-up Plan . So he did what anyone with a late night talk show would do — set up a softball diva quiz, asking her questions like, “When was the last time you were on a bus?” and “Have you ever just flipped your underwear inside out instead of getting a new pair?” Makes sense, right? After the jump, Leno’s scientific conclusion on the matter and the other clips you missed while vowing to never go undercover as an eastern European slaughterhouse worker again .

Late Night Highlights: James Marsden’s ‘C*ck Sock’ Tutorial and Chris Rock’s Run-In with Richard Pryor

The late night circuit has been flooded with two things this week: Death at a Funeral actors and Kate Gosselin jokes. Late Night Highlights: The Truth About Hover Boards and the Tale of Tracy Morgan and MJ’s ‘Thriller’ Glove

Poor Luke Wilson. He films one movie with Tracy Morgan and now he is harassed by every single interviewer for crazy stories about working with the 30 Rock actor. Last night, George Lopez continued the tradition by coaxing anecdotes out of him about Tracy leaving voice messages as Darth Vader to his son and Tracy’s Michael Jackson memorabilia. Late Night Highlights: A Batman Showdown with Adam West and KFC’s Double Down with Stephen Colbert

The late night commentary on Conan’s big move to TBS has been disappointing, mostly because there has not been much of it. David Letterman is dark this week. Jimmy Fallon and Craig Ferguson are silent on the matter. And Jay Leno is so crestfallen by the news that his bandleader Kevin Eubanks is leaving , that he can only spend his monologue energy on jokes about cats parallel parking cars . Don’t worry though — George Lopez is excited enough for everyone. Click through for his latest batch of LOCO -themed material and the other highlights you missed last night while updating your bandleader resume .
