When your money is long as hers sometimes you just gotta pay folks to leave you the fawk alone… Beyoncé has quietly settled a lawsuit levied against her by makers of a video game. via Page Six reports : Beyoncé Knowles has settled a $100 million lawsuit against a videogame company for allegedly backing out of a deal for a motion-capture dance game called “Starpower: Beyoncé.” In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court today, lawyers for the singer and for gaming outfit Gate Five signed an agreement dismissing “all claims or counterclaims” without attorneys’ fees. “We’ve settled amicably,” said Peter Gallagher, Gate Five’s lawyer. “I can’t discuss the terms of the settlement, but it was resolved.” Knowles had ditched the deal just before the winter holidays, claiming that Gate Five hadn’t secured promised funding. But the gamers countered that the diva dropped the deal on a whim. Her pockets are so deep she won’t even miss the money… but how much do you think they were able to get from her? Randy Phillips, CEO of concert promoter AEG Live, testified about a chat he had with his longtime friend Brenda Richie, who claimed to have talked to a medium who had channeled the spirit of The Gloved One after his 2009 death. In the supernatural tête-á-tête, Jacko’s ghost allegedly absolved Dr. Conrad Murray of any guilt in his death and admitted he “accidentally killed himself,” Phillips said. “Brenda called me to tell me that she was in communications with Michael either through a medium or directly,” Phillips told jurors about his talk with Richie, the ex-wife of singer Lionel Richie. “She said Michael told her that it wasn’t Dr. Murray’s fault, that he had accidentally killed himself.” Brian Panish, a lawyer for Michael Jackson’s family, objected to Phillips’ ghost story, calling it triple hearsay, since Phillips was relaying a chat from Richie, who had heard from a medium, who — allegedly — spoke to a dead Jacko. Remarkably — over the laughter of courtroom spectators — LA County Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos allowed Phillips’ explanation to stand. Gay Bar For Flaking On Club Appearance According to TMZ reports : Ciara is being sued by a West Hollywood gay bar … which claims the singer left them high and dry when she backed out of a gay event during L.A. Pride week … TMZ has learned. The nightclub going after Ciara is “The Factory” — which, according to one Yelp reviewer, is always packed with “gays” who “know how to party.” According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Ciara signed a $10,000 deal to appear at The Factory on June 7 (tonight) … one day before she’s supposed to perform on the main stage at the 2013 L.A. Pride parade. Factory says Ciara had mentioned that she couldn’t “perform” at Factory due to restrictions in her contract with the L.A. Pride event … but made it seem like making an “appearance” would be totally kosher. But Factory says … Ciara unexpectedly pulled the plug on the whole thing on June 3, leaving the nightclub without a star for its big Friday night pre-gay parade bash. Now, Factory is suing Ciara for breach of contract — and want her to pay for all the money the club spent to promote her appearance PLUS the cash they’re losing out on thanks to Ciara’s last-minute bail. Tsk, tsk Ci-Ci. Of course, there are 3 sides to every story, his, hers, and the truth… Ciara’s rep tells TMZ … the lawsuit is bogus because Ciara backed out before a deal was ever finalized. Doctor Served With Sexual Assault Lawsuit According to The NY Daily News A former New York-Presbyterian/Columbia Hospital doctor sexually assaulted two former patients in his gynecology office in 2012, claims a lawsuit filed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court. The two female plaintiffs were identified only by their initials — L.K. and A.Y. Their attorney, Anthony Donofrio, said Dr. Robert Hadden of Tenafly, N.J., performed oral sex on both young women, and one reported the incident to police last June. Police sources confirmed that they had a report about a June 29 sexual assault involving Hadden, and that he was taken into custody the following day, but the record was sealed. Hadden stopped seeing patients in his Fort Washington Ave. office in September. He did not return calls to his home. Hospital spokeswoman Myrna Manners said Columbia and the hospital “take allegations of this nature very seriously” but she declined to comment further on pending litigation. Miguel’s Leg Drop Victim Suffering Brain Damage Symptoms According to TMZ reports : The girl who took Miguel’s leg drop to the head at the Billboard Music Awards last month suffered serious trauma — symptoms consistent with brain damage, the victim’s lawyer tells TMZ. As you’ll recall … Miguel took a flying, theatrical leap across the stage and landed with thunderous force on Khyati Shah’s head. Vip Bhola, Shah’s lawyer, says, “Some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.” Bhola says BMA responded to the accident with a pathetic gesture — an ice pack designed to soothe a bruised elbow. The attorney insists his client should have been rushed to the hospital. Bhola tells us his client is waiting for test results from a neurologist. When the results are in — sometime next week — Khyati will decide if a lawsuit is in the cards. Via Page Six reports : Rihanna is suing British retail giant Topshop — chaired by billionaire Sir Philip Green — for $5 million for selling T-shirts bearing her image without her consent. A source exclusively tells us the superstar’s team had tried to negotiate with Topshop owners Arcadia Group for eight months over the rights to her image, “but they offered her $5,000 and said they don’t care.” Rihanna, 25, has hired international law firm Reed Smith to file the suit in London. The source said, “Rihanna’s management asked Topshop a number of times to stop selling her image and were told, ‘We do what we want.’ They buy the pictures from a photographer, but they do not pay the artist licensing fees. Unfortunately, UK law does not protect the artist. “What is most offensive for Rihanna is that they basically told her, ‘Go to hell. We don’t care; we are going to continue selling you.’ Topshop is now in the United States. They set up in Manhattan and Nordstrom, but they know better than to do this in the US because they would get in trouble,” our source continued. “Even though the UK laws don’t protect the artist, she has decided to move forward and sue Topshop. She has spent almost $1 million in litigation at this point. She says it’s the principle, and wants to make a statement about it. They are taking advantage of artists. It is just exploitation. What they are doing is wrong.” We’re told the case is now in discovery. Rihanna has handed over details of her fashion deals with Armani and River Island, a competitor to Topshop in the UK. A Topshop source told us: “This issue is related to a T-shirt provided to Topshop by a third-party supplier. We are aware it is the subject of litigation. [There are] public documents” available for inspection in the London court. Nick Young Sued For Sexual Assault According to TMZ A woman is suing Philadelphia 76ers star Nick Young for sexual assault — claiming he roofied her back in 2011 … then raped her vaginally and anally. The woman filed the lawsuit anonymously under the name Jane Doe, claiming she ran into Young at Crown Bar in West Hollywood … and he bought her and her friend champagne. According to the suit, the woman’s recollection of the evening ceased shortly after she downed the drink … and she believes it’s because Young had slipped the date rape drug gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) into it. The woman claims she woke up the next morning in Young’s bed, bleeding from her vagina and rectum. She says Young admitted to having sex with her the night before, but claimed he stopped because she passed out. According to the suit, the woman demanded to be taken home by Young — he obliged — and she beelined for the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center, where she took a rape kit and was tested for STDs. She claims a test at the center confirmed she had been drugged, and determined the injuries to her vagina and rectum were consistent with rape. Following the hospital treatment, the woman says she’s continued to undergo psychiatric evaluations. She’s suing Young for sexual battery, sexual assault, false imprisonment, and more — demanding unspecified damages. She’s also suing Crown Bar for negligence. Looks like these athletes are taking Rick Ross’ advice about slippin’ ish in a female’s drink to heart. Its gonna be tough for him to get out of this. We thought Usher was supposed to be such a model father! Via TMZ reports : Usher has secretly been stiffing the nanny … financially … this according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ. Cecilia Duncan is suing the singer, claiming Usher hired her as a part-time nanny back in December 2010 and she worked her ass off caring for his two sons (aged 4 and 5) often exceeding 40 hours per week. According to the lawsuit, Cecilia felt like she was being overworked without being paid overtime … and expressed her concerns to Usher in 2011 that she was being shafted. Cecilia says Usher ignored her complaints for more than a year … and finally fired her a$$ last September without paying her overtime money. She’s now suing for wrongful termination, failure to pay wages, and more — demanding unspecified damages. Sources close to the lawsuit tell us she wants in the six-figure range. A source connected with Usher tells TMZ … this is a frivolous lawsuit and all the allegations made by the former nanny are completely false. Should be interesting to see how this plays out in Tameka Raymond’s custody appeal — considering this nanny was part of the “village” helping to raise the former couple’s sons — yet was let go almost right after the ruling. Kobe’s mom and dad — Pamela and Joe — both filed sworn declarations in the legal dispute between Kobe and Goldin Auctions, the auction house planning to sell off the valuable stuff … insisting Kobe willingly gave his mother the items in question … and it’s her right to sell them. According to Kobe’s dad, Kobe gave his mother the memorabilia over the years, telling her, “Here mom, these are for you.” Kobe’s mom insists she never took anything from him without permission. Even Kobe’s grandma has filed a declaration in support of Pamela. Kobe’s sister Sharia Washington, on the other hand, filed a declaration claiming their mother has been conspiring to sell Kobe’s stuff for years … telling her the family could profit greatly from Kobe’s stardom. Tom Mesereau Says AEG Is Behind Molestation Claim According to TMZ Something stinks in Wade Robson’s new molestation accusations against Michael Jackson — so says MJ’s famed trial attorney Tom Mesereau, who tells us the smell leads all the way back to AEG … the company currently being sued by Katherine Jackson. Tom called in to “TMZ Live” moments ago, claiming the timing of Wade’s accusations is extremely suspicious — considering the legal battle currently raging between Katherine and AEG … the concert promoters behind MJ’s 2009 “This Is It Tour.” Katherine and Michael’s children are suing AEG, claiming the company is responsible for MJ’s death by negligently hiring Conrad Murray to care for the singer … and potentially BILLIONS of dollars are at stake. Mesereau insinuates Wade’s accusations are motivated by money … specifically a payoff from AEG, which is currently on a mission to trash Michael’s reputation.
