Pablo Sandoval, the San Francisco Giants third baseman and a 2011 All-Star, is under investigation for sexual assault. Santa Cruz County Deputy Sheriff April Skalland said yesterday that “no charges have been filed” and Sandovol “was not arrested,” but he and his attorney did meet with authorities following an incident late Friday night regarding the ball player and a woman. Sandoval was a guest last week at Seascape Beach Resort in Monterey Bay and had what his lawyer, Eric Geffon, claims in a statement was a “consensual personal relationship of a sexual nature” and “cooperated with the Sheriff’s Department” in regard to allegations made against him. No other details regarding the accusations have been made available at this time. Sandoval has been on the Disabled List since May 4 with a broken hand and was batting .316 at the time of the injury.
Amid rumors of Charlie Sheen’s drug-fueled partying , the warlock was asked point blank if he has been using illegal substances and spiraling out of control again. He was also asked if he has any knowledge about Brooke Mueller relapsing (something her lawyer passionately denies, saying her trip to rehab is “preventative”). Sheen’s response, to TMZ, appears below: I can’t speak to anyone’s opinion or judgement. I was there they were not. their tepid hearsay is a baseless static drone. a mantra. their theme. I refuse to be held hostage by their ‘constitutional’ privilege, to judge those who can and who do. nabobs. CS In other words, Charlie is neither confirming nor denying if he or Brooke is on drugs, but he is blasting the people who talk about him as uninformed losers who aren’t #winning. [Photo: WENN.com]
Updating a previous report in which Crystal Harris was rumored to have moved back into the Playboy Mansion , the model herself confirms it is in fact the case. She’s not just living there, either. She and Hugh Hefner are a couple again! “Yes @hughhefner and I are back together. Yes I am his #1 girl again. Yes we are happy. Hope that clears up any confusion! xoxo,” Harris tweeted on Friday. Guess Hugh is as forgiving as he is affable, friendly and rich. What a guy! “It’s Mary O’Conner that brought Crystal Harris back,” Hef Tweeted. “Crystal was miserable & said so. Mary told Crystal to write & tell me, which she did.” And though you might be stunned to see Hefner take back a woman who essentially left him standing at the altar last year, Harris was always “the one.” “He loved Crystal more than he had loved any woman in a very long time, that’s why he was willing to marry her,” said a close Hefner source. “There were so many women he couldn’t properly commit to … she had a hold on him he has never been able to shake. So it’s of no surprise to me that he would get close to her again. He can’t help himself. He has a deep connection to her.” So does this mean there might be another attempted marriage? It’s unclear … as is how Shera Bechard will respond to her demotion to backup status.
George Zimmerman’s bail has been revoked after a judge said he misled the court about his finances. Trayvon Martin’s killer must turn himself in by Sunday. During Zimmerman’s bail hearing in April, after which he was freed on $150,000 bond, his family testified they had limited funds, prosecutors said on Friday. Zimmerman’s wife “said she had no money, but in fact she did,” said prosecutor Bernardo de la Rionda of the issue that led to Zimmerman’s bail revocation. “It was misleading … I don’t know what other words to use. It was a blatant lie.” He pointed to $135,000 in funds raised from the public that was not disclosed during the hearing. Defense lawyer Mark O’Mara said it was a misunderstanding. O’Mara said Zimmerman did not lie, but was simply unclear about how he could use the money, and that his office has been keeping close tabs on the funds. “We have kept an exact ledger of every penny that he spent,” said O’Mara. Prosecutors also Zimmerman did not disclose that was in possession of a second passport; he had replaced a passport he lost only to find the original later. Zimmerman was ordered to surrender himself in 48 hours. He pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the February 26 death of the unarmed teen. Claiming self defense, Zimmerman was not charged for over a month in the Trayvon Martin case , which has sparked national media attention and debate. Benjamin Crump, the Martin family attorney, said the slain teen’s parents will welcome the news and that Zimmerman’s credibility has become an issue. “We fully expect that the special prosecutor will make George Zimmerman’s credibility be front and center in this entire case,” he told reporters.
Brooke Mueller did not relapse, according to her lawyer, but merely checked into rehab because of a pre-scheduled “maintenance” program approved by a judge. Yale Galanter says that when his client pleaded guilty to cocaine possession last month, she made arrangements to go back to rehab four times over the next year.
Bar Refaeli. Shaun White. Not two people we would’ve predicted would get together, but who are we to judge, right? The snowboarding champ was spotted with Maxim’s newly crowned “hottest woman in the world” at NYC lounge Sway “ dancing, hugging and kissing ” Monday. Score one for the Flying Tomato. The New York Post writes that “the Israeli ex of Leonardo DiCaprio and the half-pipe hero promptly hit the dance floor, going for the gold in the canoodle-a-thon.” Mark that down as one of the best celebrity gossip lines of the year. “They were all over each other,” a spy said. “They were dancing, hugging, kissing … you name it.” Then “around 3 a.m.,” White gallantly walked her out. No word if Sean White has seen Bar Refaeli nude in person yet, but millions of Maxim readers have. Okay, probably more like a few thousand at this point. [Photo: WENN.com]
While she’s long since moved on, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are still technically married, and their divorce proceedings are likely to be contentious. The former couple is scheduled to have their depositions taken in their ongoing divorce proceedings at the end of June, with plenty of unresolved matters. How can this be, considering that they did have a prenup and have now been apart much longer than they were even married? Depends who you ask. Kim’s camp insists Kris is dragging this out to keep his name in the news (unlikely) and hoping to secure the best possible settlement (slightly less unlikely). Humphries’ lawyer plans on asking Kim about her decision to keep her engagement ring , the $325,000 Ferrari wedding gift they got, and much more. Kardashian filed for divorce after only 72 days of marriage, which Kris says was based on fraud and deceit … never a bad assumption with Kim really. Whatever his motivation, the two are approaching this quite differently. “Kim is just livid that she has to be deposed. She’s tried to get out of it, but there is no way she can,” a source says. “Kris is ready for his deposition and wants the truth to come out about what really happened when they were dating and after the wedding.” At least Kim can distract herself by moving in with Kanye West . Kim’s deposition will take place at her lawyer Laura Wasser’s office at the end of June and Kris’ attorney Lee Hutton will do the majority of the questioning. Kris’ deposition will take place in Minnesota, where he resides, later this month as well. Wasser will fly in for that, though Kim almost certainly will not. [Photos: WENN.com]
BeyBey was interviewed on the red carpet of the Met Gala last night, and she said she definitely wants to give Blue Ivy siblings! Although some might find that hard to believe, the 30-year-old reveals that her recent fitness regimen consists of little time with a trainer. “I haven’t had much time in the gym [since the baby was born],” said Beyonce as she literally dropped jaws in a sheer, figure-hugging Givenchy Haute Couture gown. “I’ve been rehearsing, I have a show coming up and it’s my first show in a year.” At the very mention of her nearly four-month-old bundle of joy, Beyonce beams with pride, excited to talk all about little Blue Ivy, who she revealed was currently nestled safe and sound in the company of mother Tina Knowles and hubby Jay-Z. “I have such a full life,” she explains. “I feel like now I know the reason that I was born.” While she admits she isn’t sure when she might debut a new baby bump atop her already incredible figure, when that time rolls around, Beyonce isn’t ruling out a Brangelina size brood. “I definitely want to have more,” she proclaims. “I don’t know how many. God knows I dont know yet.” She actually said she doesn’t know how many, only God knows that. Can the world withstand another wonder of the likes of Blue Ivy? Guess we’ll find out soon enough. Any bets on when she’ll pop another one out? Source
Guess there wasn’t no Harlem shakin’ in the courthouse today. This is actually pretty tragic on multiple levels. G-Dep Sentenced To 15-Year Prison Term For Murder Former Bad Boy rapper G. Dep was sentenced this morning to 15 years prison for a two-decade old fatal gunpoint mugging — a cold-case murder that was only solved when he walked into a Harlem precinct two years ago, turning himself in so he could square himself, he has explained, with God. “The circumstance of your being before the court now suggests to me a maturity and decency that wouldn’t have been evident at the time,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus said of the sentence, the lowest allowed by law. “It was the right thing to do, even though it landed you in the position you find yourself in now,” the judge added, calling the rapper by his given name, Trevell Coleman. When he walked into a Harlem precinct two years ago, Coleman — who had had success as a protege of Sean “Puffy” Combs in the late ’90s — was a married dad of three and in treatment for an addiction to PCP. As part of turning his life around, he was determined to take responsibility for a crime that had continued to gnaw at him, his lawyer, Anthony Ricco, has explained. And he has never backed down. “My hope is that Trevell never wavers from his decision,” Ricco said at the poignant sentencing. “Fifteen years is a long time. Fifteen years in the penitentiary for putting yourself there is an even longer time.” Coleman, 37, has suffered the mockery and insults of his fellow prisoners, the lawyer noted, and in the press as well, for confessing to a shooting that he had essentially gotten away with, only to find out that his victim had died and that he had turned himself in for murder. “He’s gotten the scorn of other inmates, who called him stupid — ‘Look what happened when you open your mouth,’” the lawyer said. “His wife questioned him — ‘Trevell, what about us?’” Coleman and his wife were raising twin sons of kindergarten age. On the day of his April verdict, the wife — who had urged Coleman not to confess — had wondered to the lawyer about how the boys will manage now, without their father. “My hope is that their sons will grow up to be as proud of their father as boys can ever be, for fixing what he did,” Ricco said. “They will have a father who has honor.” In confessing, the rapper had told cops that when he was 17, or 18, or maybe 19, he had shot a man three times during a botched mugging at Park Avenue and 114th Street. He didn’t know if the man lived or died. Authorities scoured old records, much of it on microfilm, and matched the confession to the cold-case fatal shooting of John Henkel, gunned down on Oct. 19, 1993 at the same address. Hard-ball-playing prosecutors refused to offer Coleman a plea to a lesser charge, for which less prison — even a few years less — would be mandated. The outcome is fair, said prosecutor David Drucker, who did argue in favor of the minimum sentence today. There was “A totally innocent victim,” Drucker said. “The defendant shot him three times in the torso, killing him, and then he biked off leaving the victim to die.” Coleman has lived a non-violent life, turned himself in for all the right reasons, and solved a murder that would never have been off the books otherwise, he noted. Still, “He should be convicted of the crime he committed, murder in the second degree,” the prosecutor said. “I’m just trying to get right with God,” Coleman had told The Post in an exclusive jailhouse interview back in December 2010. He made no statement at his sentencing today, and nodded somberly to his family members as he was led out of court in handcuffs. SMH. Let’s hope he can maintain some kind of relationship with his wife and sons while he’s in there and that the other prisoners don’t sh!t on him too much. Do you think what G-Dep did was noble or stupid? Source
