Jim Carrey is standing up for himself In a very assertive manner. The actor was hit with a wrongful death lawsuit yesterday, about a year about long-time girlfriend Cathriona White committed suicide. The legal documents were filed on Monday by White’s estranged husband, Mark Burton, in Los Angeles County Superior Court. According to these papers, Burton – who was legally married to White at the time of her tragic death in September of 2015 – claims that Carrey used his “immense wealth and celebrity status” to illegally obtain the drugs that killed his wife. White left a suicide note on September 24 of last year that referenced Carrey. She and the actor broke up about a week before she took her own life via an overdose on prescription drugs. A toxicology report confirmed that White had a variety of drugs in her system at the time of her death, including propranolol (a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure), zolpidem (a sleep aid sold as Ambien), and painkillers oxycodone and oxymorphone. None of thse pills had been prescribed to her. The lawsuit alleges Carrey had an “obsession with controlling and manipulating White” and “had the ability to monitor surveillance cameras on a home White often stayed at and was able, by design, to view the residence remotely to keep track of White’s comings and goings.” It also cites Carrey’s doctor as being an accomplice to a “conspiracy” that led to White’s death. In response to this harsh allegations, Carrey released a statement last night. It reads as follows: “What a terrible shame. It would be easy for me to get in a back room with this man’s lawyer and make this go away, but there are some moments in life when you have to stand up and defend your honor against the evil in this world.” Carrey is referring to a financial settlement when it mentions a “back room” with the lawyer. The actor continues: “I will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved. Cat’s troubles were born long before I met her and sadly her tragic end was beyond anyone’s control. “I really hope that some day soon people will stop trying to profit from this and let her rest in peace.” A native of Ireland, White moved to Los Angeles to work as makeup artist. She reportedly met Carrey shortly thereafter in 2012 and the pair instantly hit it off. In her suicide note, White apologized to Carrey for failing to be there for him. Of their recent split, she wrote: “I’ve spent 3 days now in disbelief that you’re not here. I can go on brokenhearted and try to put the pieces back. I could, I just don’t have the will this time” And she concluded: “Please forgive me. I’m just not for this world.” Shortly after her suicide, Carrey said that he was “deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.” He added: “She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.”

But now a new Google Chrome Extension aims to help consumers find Black businesses easy. BuyBlack was created by Angie Coleman, an account manager at San Francisco-based CodeHS, and it lists Black-owned alternatives to online shoppers’ favorite retail sites. Here’s how it works: Users install the app then a Black solidarity fist appears in the corner of their browsers, which then expands into a drop down list of sites from Black-owned businesses with similar product offerings whenever they search for items online. There are products and services ranging from makeup and clothing to home goods, art, vacation rentals, food, and more. TMZ broke the story … Ashima Franklin filed a lawsuit, saying Katt attacked and kidnapped her, but sources close to Katt say her suit is just a repeat of claims she made months ago. We’re told Ashima accepted a “small amount” of cash to squash the drama, and even signed a settlement agreement. Tyga To Be Arrested At Customs After Island Getaway Tyga is already being chased by his creditors …and now, it looks like all those skipped payments have the law looking for him as well. While Chester Tyga has been sunning it up in Turks And Caicos with his barely legal bae Kylie Jenner and all her young friends for her 19th birthday for the last few days… the courts have been looking for him to answer to a former landlord that he owes roughly $500k. The judge issued the warrant and it’s now in both the federal and L.A. systems. We’re told when Tyga returns home, U.S. Customs will detain him and notify L.A. authorities, who can then come and hook him up. If Tyga decides not to fly directly to L.A., it won’t solve his problem. If, for example, he lands in Miami, Customs will detain him and call L.A. authorities, who have the right to come and get him. We’re told L.A. law enforcement was specifically notified because Tyga is considered “high profile,” especially because of his connection to the Kardashian clan. Maggie Carrie Heckstall who says she’s Maino’s girlfriend, recently said that she’s suing the NYPD, not alleged shooter Troy Ave , because the police force has been “harassing her.” The New York Post reports: Stunning Bronx-born model and exotic dancer Maggie Carrie Heckstall last remembers sitting on a couch in the crowded VIP green room — the first drink of the night fresh in her hand, still unsipped. Then a bullet tore into her left knee, shattering her femur. It was Wednesday night at a rap concert at the popular Union Square venue Irving Plaza. “I was grabbing my leg and trying to walk,” she remembered. “But it was almost dangling off, so I couldn’t.” At least one shooter had opened fire into the green room, where she sat with pals, waiting for her boyfriend, the rapper Maino, to open for T.I. Heckstall, 26, and another bystander were wounded by the gunfire. A third victim, Ronald McPhatter, was shot dead. Suspected gunman Troy Ave is accused of accidentally shooting himself in the leg. According to Maggie police started interrogating her IMMEDIATELY after she was shot, even riding in the ambulance with her to grill her for details. “I was too far away to see any of that,” Heckstall — who dances under the name “Barbie” and also is an aspiring R&B singer — recalled from her bed at Bellevue Hospital. That hasn’t stopped cops from leaning on her — hard, she says — for details, and keeping an eye on her visitors. The bullet is still in her leg — too close to vital nerves to be removed — but that hasn’t stopped ballistics-hungry cops from repeatedly asking about it, said her lawyer, Emel McDowell, who is readying a lawsuit against the NYPD and Irving Plaza. “These people are heartless,” Heckstall said of investigators. “The interrogation started in the ambulance. The detective was in the trauma unit the whole time, while they’re cutting my clothes off and everything.” Maggie is echoing sentiments that has NO IDEA who shot her on her Instagram.
