Fashion Face-Off: Lea Michele vs. Jeessica Lowndes

One is an established singer. The other portrays an aspiring one on TV. But both Glee star Lea Michele and 90210 actress Jessica Lowndes walked the red carpet at this weekend’s Hollywood Style Awards. With an event based around fashion, it was inevitable we’d face these actresses off against each other in one of THG’s most popular features. The onus, therefore, falls on you, readers. Vincent Cassel on Black Swan, Movie Overkill and the Politics of Selling Out

One good, sprawling interview with an international cinema star deserves another, and so we return to Vincent Cassel. When the French actor spoke to Movieline over the summer about his two-part gangster epic Mesrine , he also commented a bit about a little “independent movie” he was doing with director Darren Aronofsky. Mere months later, Black Swan has captivated critics, festival audiences and not just a few Oscar voters ahead of this weekend’s theatrical opening.

Gleebasing: ‘The Dog Days Are Over’

After overdosing on Sue Sylvester in last week’s Carol Burnett-enhanced episode (Sue Sylvester literally married herself in a ceremony officiated by herself while her mother, played by Burnett, watched), Glee scribes carefully put Jane Lynch back into her Adidas-sponsored holding area for this week’s episode, “Special Education.” But that’s OK, because Jayma Mays returned from a three week Anthropologie-sponsored guidance counselor retreat (one can only assume) to stomp all over Schue’s heart with John Stamos, who appeared briefly in a montage. Actually, this is not OK at all. Let’s review.

Lea Michele and Chris Colfer Tackle Evita: You Must Love Them?

“Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” is a Patti LuPone classic, a Madonna career-changer, a standard of the American stage, and now… yet another symbol of Rachel Berry’s haughty elitism. Yep, Glee , Lea Michele, and — strangely — Chris Colfer are attacking Andrew Lloyd Webber’s salute to Eva Peron, and the audio is ready for your constructive criticism and/or scoffs and/or LGBT sympathies.

Lea Michele Wants You to Know She Has Lots of Interviews Scheduled

An added bonus to the rampant success of Glee — besides the fact that the show found a way to make Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” tolerable; thanks Darren Criss! — is all the behind-the-scenes gossip that revolves around the Fox smash hit. Is the entire cast having sex with each other, Caligula-style? Did Naya Rivera trash Mark Salling’s car when they broke up? Is Lea Michele the diva-terror everyone claims? Well, about that last one…

REVIEW: Execrable You Again Tests the 5 Stages of Moviegoer Grief

Infinitely worse than you dared to hope it wouldn’t be, You Again dumbfounded and then defeated me. That’s a pretty limited spectrum of response, and yet I left the film feeling like I’d just crossed the Gobe with four actresses on my back. The shock is still too great to talk about the fifth — Betty White — except to say that, although like the rest of the free world I am glad that she’s back in heavy rotation, someone needs to lay down the rules of fair use, and penalties must be called when she is deployed to such pitiable effect.

Lea Michele Channels Britney Spears For Glee

The Britney Spears tribute episode on Glee is generating a lot of buzz, and equally as many rumors. For the moment, here’s what we know about the episode: Britney Spears herself will not appear . The episode will be titled “Britney/Brittany.” The episode will feature six Spears songs. It will reportedly feature a head shaving. Heather Morris (Brittany) will do lead vocals . Heather’s not the only cast member getting in on the act, however. This photo of Lea Michelle as Britney on set suggests that Rachel will be featured in at least one Spears number … “Baby One More Time” seems like a pretty good guess: Lea gets into character. [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com] It’s unclear when the Britney episode airs, but the magic unfolds when Season 2 of Glee debuts September 21. Which Britney song would you most want to hear?

Coldplay Acquiesces, Allows Glee to Use Its Songs

In what has to be one of the most predictable “just kidding!” moments of 2010, Chris Martin and his Coldplay bandmates have gone back on their initial rejection of Glee . The band was one of two major holdouts — the other being, hilariously, Bryan Adams — that refused to have their catalog performed by New Directions when the series began last year. But according to creator Ryan Murphy, they called him recently and apologized: “We’re sorry, you can have our catalog,” said the band through gritted teeth. Have you always wanted to hear Lea Michele and Cory Monteith sing ” Fix You “? Yeah, me too. What, you thought that was sarcasm? Lights will guide you home… [ Yahoo! ]
