The jury has returned a verdict of in the Dr. Conrad Murray manslaughter trial. Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson. After less than two days of deliberation, the jury reached a verdict for the man who worked as MJ’s personal physician leading up to his ill-fated This Is It tour. The panel buzzed the L.A. Superior Courtroom three times from the deliberation room this morning, signaling it had made a decision after the six-week trial. The verdict was just announced, and Murray was found guilty . In the six-week trial, prosecutors hammed home the argument that Murray recklessly administered a lethal dose of the powerful anesthesia Propofol to MJ. Moreover, they painted a picture of a man concerned for his own well being instead of his patient, and said all of Murray’s decisions led to Jackson’s death . Also, his self-described timeline of events simply did not add up. His defense attorneys claimed that Michael Jackson was in the midst of an irreversible downward spiral of addiction, and accidentally gave himself a fatal dose. That always felt like a stretch, but they had to argue something. He will be sentenced November 29 and faces up to four years in prison. It looks as if Dr. Murray will be remanded into custody and denied bail until that date. UPDATE: We’ve posted video of the reading of the verdict below. After the verdict was read aloud, you can hear La Toya Jackson and Kathy Hilton (Paris’ mom, and a family friend) cry out, before they are quickly shushed: Dr. Conrad Murray Verdict Reading Dr. Conrad Murray guilty verdict: Did the jury get it right?
Adam Lambert channels Elvis Presley in the latest issue of Out . Named a member of the Out 100 by the magazine, this former American Idol runner-up poses like The King did during a famous photo shoot with Andy Warhol. See for yourself: During a candid interview , Lambert also admitted that his debut album sales may have been affected by the public’s focus on his sexuality, saying: “Now that I have established who I am and I’ve gotten it out of my system, what’s really important – without denying or downplaying my pride as a gay man – is the music.” And what can fans expect from the singer’s follow-up? Songs that are all personal, Adam says. “This is definitely the album that I want to make. I’m getting time with it, I’m able to say, ‘I want to re-record that vocal,’ or ‘Let’s bring this song to another producer or a different beat put on it’. So I’m getting to immerse myself in the process. I feel like I’m getting to take the necessary time.”
The Penn State athletic department is facing serious charges of covering up sexual abuse, following an indictment of former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky on 40 counts, including inappropriate touching and statutory rape. Sandusky, who retired in 1999, is accused of abusing eight boys over a 15-year period; while athletic director Timothy Curley and Vice President of Business and Finance Gary Schultz resigned from the university last night and have been charged with perjury and failure to report Sandusky’s behavior to police. The latter two face seven years in prison if convicted. Sandusky faces life behind bars. Iconic football coach Joe Paterno – who holds the record for most wins in the history of Division I – says an assistant coach told him of an incident between Sandusky and a young male in 2002. He passed that information along to Curley. “If true, the nature and amount of charges made are very shocking to me and all Penn Staters,” Paterno said in a statement. “While I did what I was supposed to with the one charge brought to my attention, like anyone else involved I can’t help but be deeply saddened these matters are alleged to have occurred. “I understand that people are upset and angry, but let’s be fair and let the legal process unfold. In the meantime I would ask all Penn Staters to continue to trust in what that name represents, continue to pursue their lives every day with high ideals and not let these events shake their beliefs nor who they are.”
Note to celebrity gossip sites: This is Snooki. You don’t have to dig deep for, let alone concoct material with which to insult her. It basically writes itself. Besides, her legal team will sue your ass for slandering her. Lawyers for the Jersey Shore star (real name Nicole Polizzi) just smoosh smooshed the crap out of Myth Buster, which published a false story about her. The blog reported that she was arrested in a marijuana mega-bust this week. Not the case, and now they are bending over backwards to apologize … In a statement to Snook’s camp, the site says : “It has come to our attention that the story we released regarding your alleged arrest was false.” “Our actions were wrongful and reckless … What we did was wrong. We are sorry we did it. We are sorry for the attention it brought you.” “We would also like to inform you that upon your request we will no longer use nor refer to you, your name, your likeness, nor your image.” Wow. Snooki FTW and then some. The show that made this girl a household name (for better or worse) returns for a new smush session in February. Check out this clip of Jersey Shore Season 5 ! If you read the site you will know that I love models. Not the tacky UK topless models you see in those shitty “Lad Mags”…I’m talking high profile fashion models who are in bot SI or Victoria’s Secret but also who are in the high fashion magazines….. Maybe it has to do with them being skinny, maybe it has to do with them being made up to be beautiful, maybe it is the whole glamourous life, or maybe it’s the whole party life that comes with being overpaid to sit around all day and let some pervert take pics of them….but I think it has to do with their willingness to get naked in photoshoots like little whores…cuz when it is for fashion and fashion is gay so it doesn’t feel pornographic…even though a lot of the time it is….but fashion has the best PR and know how to spin shit…and that’s why they get all the advertising dollars and hot women…. So here are some Anja Rubik and Sasha Pivovarova … two hot internation/immigrant girls we’ve all seen naked before, just getting naked again, this time for Vogue Paris or as I like to call it Vogue less uptight that US media….all to make millions and live that good life…and I love it…
Years ago I was watching some daytime talk show about registered sex offenders…and one of the stories stood out as insane….one of the dudes was 19, his girlfriend 17, her dad caught them fucking, he called the police, dude got arrested, the dad pressed charges, he’s a registered sex offender for life….meanwhile Selena Gomez is doing the same shit, but because she’s the girl, it’s ok. She doesn’t go to jail or get put on an embarrassing list that will force her to live in private sex offender communities in Florida, because non sex offenders don’t want her kind in their towns….cuz being a sex offender makes a motherfucker think the sex offender fucks little kids…and I think this story would end in a great way if the legal system was actually fair and didn’t favor celebs…assuming she fucks Beiber, because the chances are pretty good that the real sex offender in all this is Usher Raymod, or as I like to call him, Beiber’s Baby Daddy….and I don’t even know why I bother, 16 is legal in Canada. 14 was legal up until a few years ago….so it doesn’t affect me…I guess I’m an asshole who likes making examples out of people…including myself…since I’m a great example of how not to live your life or run your internet business if you ever want to make any money…. I’m gonna go kill myself with breakfast whiskey….it helps a lot.
The newly-unearthed 1991 Tupac sex tape will never hit the market. That’s the definitive stance of the late rapper’s family, which vows it will sue anyone who attempts to distribute the footage of Pac getting serviced at a party. A spokesperson for 2Pac’s estate said, “We will sue anyone who tries to sell a Tupac tape,” because only the estate has the power to authorize the use of Tupac Shakur’s image for commercial use, the source says, and it’s not about to green light that. Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, is aware of the sex tape (we’ve seen a photo from it that proves it’s real), and is already gearing up for a court battle, saying: “Get the legal team ready because [we] will not allow someone to put it out.” As for how the heck this is a story 20 years after the fact? The estate’s trying to figure out who is marketing the tape by attempting to identify the individuals in the 2Pac tape, including the leading lady, believing one might be the culprit. These muhfuggas here boy… Even while praising the Obama Administration for killing not just Osama Bin Laden but a few major players in the Al-Qaeda hierarchy, Dick Cheney felt it necessary to throw mud on Barry-O’s name. Former Vice President Dick Cheney praised the Obama administration Sunday for using a drone strike to kill American-born Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, but said President Barack Obama should now apologize for criticizing former President George W. Bush’s actions against suspected terrorists. Al-Awlaki — an American whose fluency in English and technology made him one of the top terrorist recruiters in the world — was killed Friday in Yemen, according to U.S. and Yemeni government officials. The strike also killed Samir Khan, an American of Pakistani origin, and two others who were in the same vehicle as al-Awlaki, said the U.S. official, who was briefed by the CIA. Khan specialized in computer programming for al Qaeda and authored the terror network’s online magazine, Inspire. “I think it was a very good strike. I think it was justified,” Cheney told CNN’s Candy Crowley on “State of the Union.” But “I’m waiting for the administration to go back and correct something they said two years ago when they criticized us for ‘overreacting’ to the events of 9/11.” Obama “in effect said that we had walked away from (America’s) ideals,” Cheney argued. “I think he did tremendous damage. I think he slandered the nation and I think he owes an apology to the American people.” The Obama administration has “clearly … moved in the direction of taking robust action when they feel it is justified,” Cheney said. Republican critics of the administration claim it is hypocritical for Obama to approve the killing of Americans without due process while criticizing Bush officials for signing off on the use of so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques” such waterboarding. The use of such techniques has been banned by Obama. Former Rep. Jane Harman, D-California, told CNN that she believes many of Obama’s critiques of the Bush White House — most notably its secrecy — are valid. “I don’t think the Obama administration should be repeating” those mistakes, Harman said. “I think the debate about the legal grounds (for counterterrorism strategy) should be more in the open,” she said. In particular, “we should have a legal framework around our interrogation and detention policies far more than we do now.” Harman, a former top member of the House Intelligence and Homeland Security committees, also cautioned about the need for strict guidelines in the use of drone strikes, which have increased under Obama’s watch. Critics of drone strikes argue that they undermine the U.S. cause by killing innocent civilians, infringing on the sovereignty of other nations, and generating sympathy for al Qaeda and other extremist organizations. “We could abuse this program,” Harman said. “We’ve got to have a counter-narrative (to dissuade potential terrorists). We’ve got to live our values.” We all know Obama critics can’t grasp that kind of rationality though… Source
Chinese singer-actor Han Geng, formerly from K-pop boy band Super Junior, can put his legal troubles behind him, for now at least. A joint press statement released on Monday by the legal representatives of Han and his former employers, SM Entertainment, said that the contract dispute between Han and SM Entertainment has been settled amicably, reported Chinese media. “Han Geng and SM Entertainment have arrived at a satisfactory settlement. “After discussions, Hang Geng has decided to withdraw
