Back in 2016, Ben Affleck appeared on Bill Simmons’ short-lived HBO show and screamed about his love for Tom Brady in what appeared to be a drunken tirade. At the time, the unhinged rant was mostly laughed off, and it was only later that the world learned that Affleck was battling alcoholism and was in the depths of his addiction at the time of the interview. As you’ve no doubt heard, Ben’s beloved Patriots lost to the underdog Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday. As the world marveled at Eagles’ fans willingness to lay waste to their own city, many wondered how Ben – arguably the most famous Pats fan and a close friend of Tom Brady’s – was handling the news. Back in December, Affleck checked into rehab for the third time in less than a year. These days, he’s out of treatment and reportedly sober, but after falling off the wagon so many times, Ben is no doubt aware that alcoholism is a lifelong battle. Ben’s father, Tim Affleck, has also struggled with addiction and earlier this week he opened up about his son’s struggles in a candid interview with Radar Online. It seems the elder Affleck believes his son’s struggles are mainly the result of the career he chose. “Hollywood is a disgusting place!” Tim told the outlet . “I’m not a big fan of the entertainment world. I know it’s taken its toll [on Ben].” Tim says he’s witnessed some major changes in his son’s character over the course of his decades in the industry. “You’re kind of forced to develop a persona that is hard to shed and go home to your family,” Tim says. “It affects your whole life. I think that’s one of the dangers of the film industry.” Ben has spoken at length about his father’s alcoholism and the ways in which it affected his childhood. “I know what he’s going through,” says Tim, who’s been sober 27 years. “Of course we speak about it, and we do have a shared history, at least in terms of struggle. Ben’s always been serious about getting sober. He wants a balanced life and he’s working at it.” Tim believes his son has what it takes to remain sober, but believes Ben may be too reliant upon the women in his life. “I don’t necessarily believe one person should be with someone forever,” Tim says. “Some people might, but history has proven it often doesn’t work.” Affleck has been dating Lindsay Shookus since the summer of 2017. A new museum exhibit honoring Sandra Bland has gone on display in Texas just in time for Black History Month. The Houston Museum of African-American Culture’s exhibit, which opened Saturday, celebrates the life of the woman who was found dead in a Texas jail cell three days after a controversial police traffic stop in 2015. We pick back up with Bianca and Bri’s brawl at Yandy and Remy Ma’s attempted peace talk. By this point, Dreamdoll jumps in on behalf of Bri and then MariahLynn pops off for her girl Bianca. Yandy mentions once again that the constant fighting is why she severed business ties with Bianca. Remy says that this is making her reconsider working with MariahLynn on a track. In short, Bianca is no longer invited to St. Maarten since she’s the one that started all of this. It is really silly that she has had how many fights with Bri (that she started) and still hasn’t gotten it out of her system. via GIPHY Later on, we find out that Remy isn’t even going on the trip because she has to start IVF around the same time, by doctor’s orders. via GIPHY Anais and Jonathan get together to celebrate his birthday. Anais mentions that she’s back at home with her kids, but it’s not quite all-good with Ruben yet and she’s not sure about whether they’re getting divorced or not. Then Yandy and Juju show up and Anais says she feels some type of way about Yandy. Basically, she’s jealous of Yandy and Jonathan’s friendship and feels like Yandy is stealing him away from her. Yandy eventually starts talking about her upcoming charity work trip in St. Maarten and Jonathan suggests that Anais come as his plus one to help her escape the madness she created in her life. Yandy stresses that this is a work trip and that there better be no shenanigans. via GIPHY DJ Self meets up with MariahLynn and tells her that she needs to go to St. Maarten and act like she has some sense, especially because DJ Self wants her to join Safaree and co (aka Bri, Dreamdoll, etc) to record a song for a hurricane relief effort and she has to learn how to keep her hands to herself. MariahLynn agrees. We’ll see how this goes. This is her last chance with DJ Self. Now we’re in St. Maarten. Jonathan, Bri and Anais are staying at Yandy’s villa and Anais starts acting a fool immediately. You already saw how Kiyanne acted around Sophia Body, so Jaquae is rightfully nervous. Meanwhile back in New York, Bianca is preparing for a major performance coming up and she invites Hennessy Carolina (Cardi B’s little sister), who just finished fashion school, to help her pick out and outfit and to vent about what has been happening with Yandy and how they went to St. Maarten without her. She’s especially pissed that MariahLynn went on the trip and didn’t tell her until the last minute. via GIPHY Back in St. Maarten, we find Yandy and co handing out lunches to school children. It’s all good until Anais decides to pull Yandy aside because she feels like Yandy has been judging her. Yandy says Anais is tripping and cites the whole Anais trying to chill while they were supposed to be working thing. Basically, this once again boils down to Anais being jealous that Yandy is also friends with Jonathan. Anais threatens to bring out her crazy side. Yandy says she handles crazy well (and if you’ve seen how she deals with Mendeecees’ babymamas then you know it’s true), which only upsets Anais even more. Anais starts spouting off random incoherent obscenities and Yandy walks away, unbothered. After a decade of absurd behavior thoroughly documented by reality TV cameras, we thought we’d seen the very worst that Farrah Abraham had to offer. But then Farrah’s mother, Debra Danielsen, wrote a memoir, and we realized we’ve only scratched the surface of the dysfunction and depravity in the Abraham family. Teen Mom tell-alls are nothing new, but Deb’s seems to be offering a unique spin on the genre. For starters, Danielsen went with the completely bonkers title of Vapor: A True Story of How I Fell Victim to Catfishing . And while that might lead you to believe that she’s gonna take you into Nev and Max territory, all the excerpts thus far have basically been lengthy justifications of Deb’s hatred for her daughter and ex-husband. Earlier this week, we learned that Michael Abraham did drugs and cheated on Deb while they were married. (Or so Danielsen claims.) Now it’s Farrah’s turn to get roasted, and Deb is once again bringing the heat. In a Vapor excerpt published today by Radar Online, Debra basically claims her famous daughter is a violent psychopath. If you’ve seen Farrah beat up Teen Mom producers and generally act like a lunatic for the past ten years, then that might not come as much of a surprise to you. In the past Farrah has claimed that her mom “beat her bloody,” and on at least one occasion, she called the police on Deb, Now, Danielsen is saying that she was attacked by Farrah , who then called the police to make it look like she was the victim. “Farrah had beat me up, I had been crying, I was in a large amount of pain,” Deb writes with cavalier disregard for the concept of run-on sentences. “After all of this, she had quietly gone upstairs to call the police and turn me in for hitting her.” Danielsen concedes that her wrist made contact with her daughter’s lip while they were struggling and that Farrah was left with “one drop of blood on her lip.” Of course, no discussion of the life of Farrah would be complete without some mention of the infamous Backdoor Teen Mom sex tape . Deb recalls learning about the tape and confronting Farrah, who wasn’t exactly interested in a rational discussion. “She snapped back and said that Michael and I overreact and ‘need to get our sh-t together,'” Deb writes. “She didn’t need us embarrassing her. Recently, and to no one’s surprise, Wendy Williams suggested that Travis Scott either dumped Kylie or plans to dump Kylie, and the he plans to throw out the baby with the bathwater, so to speak. Wendy suggested a theory that Kylie’s been so secretive about her pregnancy because Travis left her. And she suggested that Travis left because, well, he got his girlfriend pregnant after one month of dating and doesn’t need that in his life. Apparently, Travis Scott heard about her broadcast and is taking offense in a major way. A source tells HollywoodLife that Travis Scott is fuming at Wendy Williams over her unkind statements. (A lot of folks have been in that boat a time or two; most have learned to let it go and maybe rewatch that video of Wendy Williams collapsing on live TV ) ” Travis is so pissed at Wendy , he’s taking this very personally.” If he’s really going to be a part of Kylie’s life in a long-term way, then he’s going to need to get used to people speculating all sorts of things about him. “She’s making horrible assumptions about him when she knows nothing, she’s never even met him.” To be fair, based on everything that we’ve ever seen of Wendy Williams, that is essentially her job. According to this same source, Travis doesn’t match Wendy’s description in the slightest. ” Travis has no intention of abandoning his child or responsibilities as a dad .” To be clear, we’re not sure if Wendy actually believed that child abandonment was his plan. At the very least, she must know how abandoning one of the most famous moms-to-be in the world might hurt his brand. “He’s excited about becoming a dad .” Not many people are excited when they find out that they’ve knocked up their girlfriend of one month. But sometimes they get excited. Especially when their baby momma is loaded. “If Wendy really knew him she’d know that family is everything to him.” It’s true that his family, based in Houston, is very important to him. “He’s so close to his parents and his brother and sister. His whole family is hyped for this baby.” In fact, Travis so so close with his folks that, reportedly, Kylie and Travis were fighting over how to spend the holidays. “He’s not some deadbeat that doesn’ t know the meaning of family.” That line really jabs at what — even coming from Wendy Williams — almost feels like a racially charged element to Wendy’s theory. Yes, sometimes people within minority groups can perpetuate stereotypes about each other. ” Wendy ‘s comments aren’ t just offensive to him, they’ve upset his whole family, especially his mom.” That’s all nice to hear, because we want good things for Kylie and her baby. HollywoodLife points out, however, that Wendy isn’t the only one who’s reportedly had concerns about Travis. “Kris is unclear about Kylie’s future with Travis but for now, Kris is extremely disappointed in how Travis is handling the pregnancy.” We know that Travis turned to Kanye for advice on dealing with the very hormonal Kylie. We also know that he’s been touring through most of Kylie’s pregnancy. “Kris has made it clear to Travis that Kylie deserves more out of him. Kris also let Travis know that she is the boss in the family, she is watching him closely and that he better not hurt her youngest daughter.” I cannot imagine what it would be like to be threatened by Kris Jenner. “Kris finished warning Travis by telling him that despite the status of his relationship with Kylie, he best step up and be a more present father when the baby arrives.” Even those of us who aren’t talk show hosts need to be careful when we let speculation become rumors or assumptions. As we’ve said from the get-go, it’s highly unlikely that Travis Scott planned to become a father. He was just the rebound guy enjoying one of the Jenner sisters. He’d been with Kendall before. Presumably, something went wrong, because we can’t imagine that Kylie planned for this, either. But it looks like Kylie and Travis are making the best of her pregnancy. if he hasn’t cut and run while Kylie’s at her most hormonal, then it’s hard to imagine him running off when there’s an actual baby before his very eyes. Remember, Kylie’s due date is February 4th. That is in nine days . No matter how people want to characterize him, he’s probably nervous and excited. Like any parent.
