Part of the negative reaction is undoubtedly due to the bad taste that Kanye has left in the mouths of many who used to be fans of him and his music, the other part is simply that NASIR doesn’t live up to the standards of quality that an artist like Nas has set for himself over a long and successful career. Rob Kardashian is going through some things right now, folks. Yesterday, the world learned that Rob can’t afford to pay child support to his baby mama, Blac Chyna. Normally, we’d call BS on that, but in Rob’s case, we actually believe he’s broke. Of course, it’s entirely his fault that he’s broke, and he’s been given every possible advantage in life, so he still doesn’t deserve a shred of sympathy. Anyway, Rob and Chyna are mired in an increasingly ugly court battle due to his refusal to fork over the $20,000 a month they initially agreed on. It’s a bad situation for everyone involved, but at least it’s yielding some interesting insights into Rob’s increasingly sad existence. According to his documents filed by his lawyers, Rob has “minimal cash flow and no savings.” Of course, this is all relative, and as we learned yesterday, Rob is still pulling in $10,000 a month from royalties and endorsement deals. But that’s down from a reported $100,000 in the days before he started dating Chyna. (Rob says the relationship hurt his earning potential. We say he probably did that himself by posting revenge porn of Chyna and generally being an asshat.) You don’t have to be a mathematician to see that Rob can’t afford to shell out twice his monthly income in child support — but it’s worth noting that that appears to be his only expense. “As of January 17, 2018, I am short nearly $300,000, which my accountant projects I will need to pay for my 2017 tax liabilities,” Rob said in court documents released this week. “I no longer own a home. I now live in my mother’s home.” Woof. 300 grand in debt and living at home with his mom? Needless to say, Rob’s not exactly killing it these days — but don’t worry, he’s got a plan! And apparently, it involves having his mom buy half of his sock company. Yes, in case you somehow forgot, Rob designs socks that no one wants to buy, probably because they’re overpriced socks designed by Rob Kardashian. But the unpopularity of the Arthur George line isn’t keeping Rob from pushing forward with the venture in the hope that it will help him dig out of this financial hole. Rob told the court that he hoped the sock line would “would grow and that my earnings would increase,” but instead — shocker! — he lost money on the investment. Kris Jenner swooped in to keep the company alive, and she now “50 percent share in the company.” Cool. Now if Rob can just get Kris to pay 50 percent of his child support, he’ll be all set. Just weeks after ending her engagement to Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande dropped a new single , “Thank U, Next.” The powerful anthem, a tribute to her exes, is smashing music records. Its lyrics have also inspired November’s hottest meme. Billboard Woman of the Year Ariana Grande keeps setting new records only to surpass them. In recent days, she’s been doing it with the same song, as she shared on Instagram. “Thank u, next has surpassed 100 MILLION streams on spotify in only 11 days,” reads a graphic shared on social media. The graphic puts that in perspective: “it is the fastest song in HISTORY to reach this milestone.” Ariana shared the image with a very grateful black heart emoji in the captions. Keep in mind that that’s only her Spotify success. It doesn’t include people listening on YouTube — or pirating it. Her record-smashing feat doesn’t include people using other streaming services. It also doesn’t include those of us who eschew streaming music and instead immediately purchased it from iTunes or Amazon. Part of the appeal is that it’s a beautiful song. The song’s real meaning also contributed to its success. “Thank U, Next” is an anthem to Ariana’s exes — to three, in particular. Ariana had an 8-month relationship with Big Sean from 2014 to 2015. “Thought I’d end up with Sean / But he wasn’t a match,” Ariana sings. Starting in the summer of 2015, Ariana dated backup dancer Ricky Alvarez for about a year. “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,” Ariana sings. Famously, Ariana got engaged to Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, and broke things off in October. “Even almost got married / And for Pete, I’m so thankful,” Ariana’s lyrics affirm. On a sadder note, she dated Mac Miller for two years starting in 2016. He died just a few months ago. “Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel,” Ariana sings bittersweetly. “Thank U, Next” appeals to people as a song and as an athem. Some can relate in their own lives — they really appreciate their past loves and past relationships. Others are just Ariana Grande fans and love to hear how at peace she is with her romantic past. But it’s more than just a song, folks. It’s a meme. For ages now, social media has been filled with “one taught me love, one taught me patience, one taught me pain” posts. These posts, quoting lyrics from Ariana’s song, can do everything from critique three films or three characters or three condiments. Of course, Ariana’s release of this song such a short time after ending her relationship with Pete Davidson has fueled conspiracy theorists. There are people in the world who believes that all celebrity activities, from relationships to their art to overdoses and deaths, are a scripted facade. These are the same people who use words like “illuminati” and “Deep State” with total sincerity. So they think that for some unknowable reason, Ariana and Pete were “ordered” by, like, Beyonce or George Soros to get engaged, then split. According to this admittedly hilarious theory, Ariana had this song prepared and mixed for whenever they were ordered to break up. Why? Maybe, like, mind-control embedded in the song. It did release right before election day! Ariana being a talented and passionate musician with the resources to pull together a song quickly is apparently too simple of an explanation. There is a glaring omission from Ariana’s song — her ex Graham Phillips. They performed together on Broadway along with current Dynasty star Elizabeth Gillies. You might know Graham from The Good Wife or from his more recent appearance on Riverdale as a seriously awful dude. Our guess is that the fact that they dated in 2011, when Ariana was mostly just known as a Nickelodeon star, is a factor. Also, she probably just views Graham as a friend whom she once dated. There’s a difference between that and an “ex.” In case you were wondering if there was bad blood, we looked into it and found no evidence of hard feelings. Underwood has been making his reality show rounds, but, as he’s mentioned on multiple occasions, he’s never gone all around the bases with a woman. We don’t mean to keep hammering this point home, but you better believe ABC will continue to promote Underwood as a virgin all throughout his upcoming season. “I’m very excited,” Underwood said on Good Morning America two months ago, adding: “Third time’s a charm.’ That’s what they say, right? According to court documents quoting Rob obtained by The Blast , Rob says he lost thousands of dollars because of his baby mama and is now forced to sell half of his sock line Arthur George to his mother to recoup. Rob said, “When the business was struggling, my mother infused it with capital to keep it afloat and from her infusion gained a 50% share in the company. Previously, the line’s success was in large part due to my regular posting and general promotion on social media. Angela’s [Blac Chyna] request for a restraining order against me includes various prohibitions on what I could post online. In order to avoid any potential future issues, I nearly eliminated my social media presence.” Yikes! So Blac Chyna’s shenanigans last year stopped him from getting those IG coins? Will a judge see it this way? Rob is also reportedly moved in with his mother after losing his house earlier this year. “My income now is insufficient to pay for my expenses.
