That’s what O’Shaughnessy is saying in a new interview with London’s Evening Standard newspaper, in which he gushes about his connection with the pop star, and admits that after three days on “We Found Love” shoot, he “didn’t want it to end.” “I loved it,” he said. “Not just because it was ‘a certain person’s’ video, but just because I love being on set. “I wasn’t star-struck at all … she’s just a nice girl. It’s not like just because she’s achieved so much that she thinks her sh– don’t stink,” O’Shaughnessy continued. “She’s such a humble, down-to-earth girl and that made it even better for me because I didn’t feel intimidated or anything. We just got along. We were just like mates.” O’Shaughnessy added that, before being cast in “We Found Love,” he had given up his dreams of becoming a professional boxer and was even contemplating quitting modeling, thinking, “I’m going to have to get a normal job now. I’ll have to be a plumber or something,” but, after his agency supplied his headshots to Rihanna’s camp, she personally picked him for the video. “The director, everyone, loved him,” his agent told the Standard. “Obviously, Rihanna loved him.” Of course, O’Shaughnessy played it coy when asked about rumors that his and Rihanna’s on-set relationship carried over into their off-set lives. Asked how he handled those steamy sex scenes, the model said, “You’ve just got to get into it,” he said, adding that despite what you may read, he is still very much single. “It’s not that I’m looking [for a girlfriend],” he said. “I don’t want to say I want a girlfriend or I don’t. Amy Winehouse’s Death: Alcohol Expert Weighs In

By Gil Kaufman Amy Winehouse Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage Amy Winehouse ‘s cause of death was a result of the same factors that kill anyone who overindulges: she, literally, drank herself to death . It was revealed Wednesday (October 26) that Winehouse had more than five times the legal driving limit of alcohol in her body at the time of her July 23 death , which coroner Suzanne Greenway said unintentionally led to “such potentially fatal levels” that it caused the “Rehab” singer’s demise. Dr. Sam Zakhari, director of the Division of Metabolism and Health Effects at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, said what apparently befell Winehouse is not unlike what happens on college campuses every weekend. “This is not the first time we’re hearing about someone dying from an overdose of alcohol,” said Zakhari, who did not treat Winehouse and has no firsthand knowledge of her case, but who was speaking to MTV News as an expert on the public facts of the case. “You hear it quite frequently here in the U.S. about college students who drink themselves to death.” Zakhari said when an individual consumes too much alcohol too quickly, their blood alcohol level increases dramatically and it can rise rapidly to several times the legal limit for intoxication. “That inhibits what’s called the respiratory center, which is the area in the brain that controls [breathing]. When that is inhibited, people cannot breathe, period. That’s what causes their death.” Winehouse, 27, who famously struggled with drug and alcohol addiction during her short life and rapid rise to fame, was found in bed in her London apartment in July, and police said they discovered three bottles of vodka at the scene. The inquest found no sign of illegal drugs in her system, and a postmortem examination of her body found her vital organs in good health. The amount of alcohol in her system was enough to stop her breathing and possibly send her into a coma, according to officials. After initial autopsy results were inconclusive , the Grammy-winning singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse, said his daughter had been drug-free for some time, suggesting that it was alcohol withdrawal that had killed her. But one of the singer’s doctors said Winehouse had begun drinking again a few days before her death after a long period of abstinence. Asked if Winehouse’s history of substance abuse had any impact on the way she died, Zakhari said that her background would not necessarily play a part in such a death. “Experience with alcohol doesn’t preclude a person from having respiratory arrest,” he said. “There’s no difference. Tolerance works within certain limits, but that would mainly [have an impact] on behavior.” In other words, someone who has never been drunk will exhibit more visible signs of inebriation after consuming large amounts, versus a person with a history of drinking. But that tolerance is quickly negated as the level of alcohol consumed rises. “A high concentration [of alcohol] will make that part of the brain cease to function regardless of whether that person is a chronic drinker or not,” he said. Adele To Return With Live Album, DVD In November

Release of Live at the Royal Albert Hall comes on the heels of singer cancelling a slew of shows due to vocal issues. By James Montgomery Adele Photo: Stefan M. Prager/Redferns Vocal problems may have forced Adele to scrap her U.S. tour , but next month, she’ll return to the States … with a live CD and DVD. Due out November 29, Live at the Royal Albert Hall was recorded during Adele’s rousing September show at the iconic London venue, and features her full 90-minute performance, which includes her biggest hits from the 19 and 21 albums, plus covers of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and the Steeldrivers’ “If It Hadn’t Been for Love.” The film, directed by Paul Dugdale (who has previously worked with the Prodigy, Florence and the Machine and, of course, Adele herself), also contains exclusive behind-the-scenes content shot throughout the day. The CD/DVD package is currently available for pre-order through Adele’s website , and fans might want to pick it up, as it’s probably the last time they’ll get to see the British belter for a while. She’s been battling vocal issues for months, first postponing her North American tour in June due to laryngitis, then rescheduling dates before announcing in early October that a vocal hemorrhage would force her off the road entirely. Of course, none of that has slowed the success of her massive 21, which will once again top the Billboard albums chart next week and has sold more than 4 million copies in the U.S. alone since February. She’s also one of the most-nominated artists at next month’s American Music Awards (no word on whether she’ll attend, though), and her latest single, “Someone Like You,” currently sits atop the Billboard Hot 100. Selena Gomez Goes Gangster In MTV EMA Promo

‘People know who the eff I is,’ the show’s host raps in a video for next month’s MTV Europe Music Awards. By James Montgomery Selena Gomez When Selena Gomez served as MTV News’ special correspondent at the Video Music Awards Pre-Show in August, she was polite, professional and, as far as we can tell, did not utter a single profanity (she did get kissed by her boyfriend, Justin Bieber , though). But in preparation for her hosting duties at next month’s MTV EMA , she’s decided to change things up a bit, ditching that good-girl image and going hard. At least judging by a brand-new promo for the show, that is. Gomez ties on a bandana and throws on a flannel (only top button buttoned, of course) in the new spot, which spoofs her squeaky-clean image and features the demure actress/singer spitting some (sorta-profane) rhymes. It opens with her in full-blown princess regalia, sitting before a vanity and proclaiming to her reflection ” Finally, I get to host the EMAs … wow!” All of sudden, her thugged-out alter ego appears on the other side of the mirror, tells Selena to “shut her face,” and then launches into a few bars, rapping, “Who else better than me to be hosting the show/ People know who the eff I is/ I’m a pro/ The right time and place for me to be/ Yeah, I’ll say it/ Congratulations to me!” Gangster Gomez (or, as she puts it, “The S-E-L-E-N-A to the Gomez”), then gets all Kanye confessional on the mic, rapping that “Sh–‘s crazy growing up in this industry/ I was still a baby when I hustled up into the scene” and then drops what sounds very much like a solid F-bomb too. Like we said, she goes hard. Of course, the whole thing is a joke — according to a message at the beginning of the spot, “Some of the Selenas in this video are fictional. Any similarities to the actual Selena are purely coincidental” — but, as MTV’s Buzzworthy blog points out, her hip-hop makeover does present a rather unique opportunity for Gomez: Now, perhaps she can drop a mixtape with Shawty Mane, a.k.a. Chris Marrs Piliero takes us behind the crime sprees and ‘sexy time.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with additional reporting by Vanessa White Wolf Jason Trawick and Britney Spears in “Criminal” Photo: Jive Britney Spears and real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick go on a sexy crime spree in her new “Criminal” video , which follows the pair around London as they hold up banks and convenience stores in between NSFW scenes of the duo getting physical in their hideout. MTV News caught up with the director, Chris Marrs Piliero, who opened up about casting Trawick and the video’s use of guns , leading us through the clip frame by frame. The video opens with Spears and her rich boyfriend at a glamorous get-together. But things are not as pretty as the party itself. “So here we are at the fancy-schmancy par-tay, [and] one of my directions for her little turnaround reveal was in ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’ when Jennifer Love Hewitt … walks into the party. … The actor who plays her d—–bag boyfriend, his name is Freddie, and actually it’s his first acting role.” Britney then goes into the lady’s room to cry about Freddie’s jabs at her, and when she comes out, she sees him flirting with another woman. “For this, I wanted to come up with a really cool line,” he said. “I was trying to come up with something that had attitude but was TV-safe, so we went with that,” he explained about Britney’s crack “So, you’re not working the street corner tonight, I see.” When Britney does leave the party, dragged out by her boyfriend, Trawick’s bad-boy character comes to the rescue. “The punching was just awesome,” Piliero said. “We were watching that, and we were all looking at each other like, ‘Is he really hitting him?’ ” Of course, Spears gets in her kick to his groin too. “I love her face when she goes for the kick,” he added. “She’s so good at delivering those fun lines.” Eventually, Brit and Jason’s attraction takes over, as they share a kiss and then a whole lot more. “It’s time for sexy time,” Piliero joked of their naked romp. “So during the bed sex scene, the first take that we did of it, I let the camera roll. … From that point on, I was just calling out stuff, just directing them … and it was a really smooth, comfortable experience, actually. And Jason is ripped beyond belief. It’s kind of ridiculous.” Britney soon gets caught up in Jason’s world of crime. Her first offense? Holding up a convenience store, where she also grabbed some vanilla candles, a nod to her real-life love of them. “There she is yelling at the guy,” he said. “That was fun. She really got into it. “[The] slo-mo shot of them running out [was] very, very cool,” he continued. “I love when Jason just kind of throws the woman to the side.” Between crime sprees, the two make time for a very revealing shower scene. “Sexy time in the shower, which is just super hot,” he said. “We did the shower scene after the bed scene.. so it was pretty painless and smooth.” The video ends up with the cops closing in on the pair with a parade of bullets being shot into their flat before they make their getaway, driving off into the sunset together. “We got a bunch of cops here ready to shoot,” he said. “Obviously, there’s a lot of crime history here. That’s why they’re ready to go crazy and fire on them. To me, it’s awesome to see this shot [because] this is exactly how I pictured it. Their kiss is magical and badass. The singer immediately was criticized by local officials for her use of a gun in the sexy, crime-fantasy clip. Spears addressed the issue, shrugging off the controversy , and this week, fans finally got to see what all the fuss was about when the steamy clip dropped. MTV News spoke to the video’s director, Chris Marrs Piliero , who said he was surprised the video’s gunplay became such a big deal. “Holding the gun became a controversial thing ’cause we filmed it in London, and they don’t have a lot of gun use out there,” he explained. “That doesn’t mean that there’s no gun use, so I did find it really interesting. For me, the thing is, it blew me away that members of [the British] Parliament were speaking about this. One, because it’s a music video, and two, because don’t you guys have television shows out there that show crime? “It’s really strange to me,” he continued, adding just what bothered him most about the controversy: “I don’t understand why pop stars are put on such a high pedestal over other celebrities. Why do members of Parliament feel that they need to scrutinize her for having a gun, and ‘She’s in the public,’ and ‘She should know better,’ and ‘She’s a role model,’ but what about every other celebrity out there? What about every other actor? That’s very strange to me. I was really surprised at how much the gun use was scrutinized.” Plus, Piliero said it makes sense that the couple, played by Britney and her real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick , are using guns. “He’s a professional criminal, so it makes sense he has a gun,” the director said. “We shouldn’t censor ourselves.” Share your opinion on the controversy in the comments below!

By Gil Kaufman Jay-Z and Kanye West Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Jay-Z and Kanye West have been sued by soul/blues icon Syl Johnson over allegations that they sampled one of his songs on their Watch the Throne album without permission. The complaint, filed in Illinois federal court Friday, alleges that the dynamic duo sampled a portion of his 1967 hit “Different Strokes” on the Throne deluxe-edition song “The Joy,” according to the Hollywood Reporter . Johnson claims the song was sampled without his permission and has was not credited in the album’s liner notes. The allegation of copyright infringement was first raised in late August, when archival record label and publisher the Numero Uno Group — which was erroneously credited as the song’s publisher in the Throne — threatened a lawsuit on Johnson’s behalf. The suit further claims West originally attempted to sample the tune on his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy solo album, but was unable to get clearance in time to use it. Given that history, the suit alleges West’s decision to use the sample on another album without permission is an example of “knowing” and “willful” misappropriation. The funky blues song has long been a favorite among rappers, including the Wu-Tang Clan (“Shame on a N—a”), Public Enemy (“Fight the Power”), the Beastie Boys (“Desperado”), the Geto Boys (“Homie Don’t Play That”) and Kool G Rap (“Talk Like Sex”) — and Johnson has not shied away from suing other hip-hop acts in the past to get paid for the use of his music. The suit seeks to impound all the copies of Throne and requests a full accounting of sale and publishing money, along with punitive damages. That remark sets off a chain of events that will certainly leave Britney fans watching the Chris Marrs Piliero-directed ( “I Wanna Go” ) video on repeat. As Britney and her abusive beau make their way out of the party, him yelling at her for standing up for herself as he flirted with other girls, they come across Britney’s real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick, who is playing one really hot bad guy with a heart of gold. The boyfriend slaps Britney, and Jason comes to her rescue, setting into motion their very hot — and very naked — love affair. He takes her back to his place, where a headline reveals he’s — you guessed it: a criminal. But, Britney doesn’t seem to mind. She kisses him. He kisses her. They get it on, showing lots of skin and giving fans a sneak peek into their personal life. They then head to a convenience store, where Britney decides to break loose and hold the place up, guns blazing. After the stickup, the pair steal a car and head back to Jason’s loft for a very revealing shower scene that includes lingering shots on their wet, naked bodies. As they wrap up the steamy shower session, the authorities close in on them, blasting bullets into the apartment. But, Britney and Jason just continue to share passionate kisses as bullets soar around them John Woo-style. Just when you think it’s the end for pop’s reigning Bonnie and Clyde, the police enter the apartment to see that the duo has escaped, unhurt, driving away on Jason’s motorcycle. As the credits roll, everyone’s left wondering what they will do next. Shot in London in September, “Criminal” is the fourth single and video from Femme Fatale .
