Amidst reports that Stewart is an unkempt mess , sources say that Pattinson actually made a public appearance over the weekend, stopping by The Deer Lodge in Ojai, California on Friday night with a few friends. An employee of the cowboy-themed establishment confirms that he heard the same, telling Radar Online that he was not working that evening, but “several people” informed him ” Pattinson was here enjoying the music” and seemed to be in “good spirits.” The bar is located about 90 minutes from the home Rob and Kristen shared in Los Angeles and would make sense as a locale for Rob to frequent at the moment, considering he’s rumored to be residing in Reese Witherspoon’s vacation home . It’s situated in Ojai. An unnamed patron also confirmed the handsome sighting, Tweeting afterward: “Awesome night in Ojai. Got to hang with a rowdy bunch of Brits & one of them happened to be Edward… He wasn’t moping and the girls were definitely just his friend… I stood next to them at the bar. He wasn’t drunk. Just taking in the scene. Smoked next to him outside.” The countdown, meanwhile, is on for Pattinson first official public appearance: it will take place August 13 in NYC at the premiere of Cosmopolis .

Delpopolo was expelled from the Olympics last week, while his accreditation was stripped and his seventh place finish expunged. But the 23-year old swears he never meant to get high. The dirty test was “caused by my inadvertent consumption of food that I did not realize had been baked with marijuana,” Delpopolo says in a statement, taking responsibility for his actions and adding: “I apologize to U.S. Olympic Committee, to my teammates, and to my fans, and I am embarrassed by this mistake.” He’s probably really hungry right about now as well.

Win or lose, this one’s going down to the wire this fall. Whichever side of the political spectrum you’re on, you have to admit that the man’s got a tough job. SPOILER ALERT: Oscar Pistorius made history today at the London Olympics. History that it’s hard to believe will ever be duplicated. The South African sprinter, who was born without fibulas and had hid legs amputated below the knee at 11 months old, qualified for the 400 meter semifinals today with a season-best time of 45.44 seconds. Known as The Blade Runner, Pistorius became the first amputee to ever compete in Olympic track. “I’ve worked for six years … to get my chance,” said the 25-year old, who will run again tomorrow night. “I found myself smiling in the starting block. Which is very rare in the 400 meters.” It took many years for Pistorius to receive permission to compete here. Many doctors and experts believe his prosthesis actually give him an advantage because they enable him to do less work as he runs. But many hearings later and Pistorius was given his chance. As you can see, he’s making the most of it.

Rosie O’Donnell has been forced to delay her wedding to Michelle Rounds, for a terribly sad reason: Rounds has been diagnosed with aggressive fibromatoses, a rare onset of desmoid tumors that first cropped up on Mother’s Day when she awoke with “pain that [wouldn’t] let up,” according to Rosie’s new blog entry . It took awhile for doctors to determine her loved one’s ailment, O’Donnell added, writing of how the couple felt at the time: “We wander thru the maze of medical mystery confused – scared . . .undiagnosed – again and again, her pain grew worse. It seemed impossible no one knew what was wrong.” Finally, the proper diagnosis was made – there are only 900 new cases of the disease each year in the U.S. – and Rounds underwent surgery in June. Rosie says she’s “getting stronger every day.” The couple, who got engaged in December , will now get married next summer. In lieu of gifts, they ask for donations to be made to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.
