Miguel Hopes To Get On ‘All I Want Is You’ Partner J. Cole’s Album

‘The album is what I would describe as being ‘eclec-tric,’ ‘ R&B singer tells Mixtape Daily of his own debut. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Rahman Dukes Miguel Photo: Jive Fire Starter: Miguel Miguel is bringing sex appeal and soul with his new video for “All I Want Is You.” The track features J. Cole, and the new singer said he’s more than willing to return the favor for the Roc Nation rapper. “I remember talking to [‘All I Want Is You’ producer] Salam [Remi] and him saying, ‘Just be honest,’ ” Miguel said about the song’s lyrics. “I’m excited about it. I didn’t get to be in the studio with J. Cole. I recorded the song, and Mark Pitts at Jive — who happens to be a part of J. Cole’s management as well — I remember the call. It was 3 o’clock in the morning, and Mark called me like, ‘Yo, it’s crazy! I’mma play it for Cole.’ He played it for him, and Cole said he liked it. I’m looking forward to getting on [Cole’s] forthcoming album, hopefully. Maybe.” Miguel dropped Mischief: The Mixtape awhile back, and it got picked up by hip-hop blogs such as 2DopeBoyz.com. The standout record was “Sure Thing,” which helped him get his record deal. “All I Want Is You” is the name of his debut album as well as his lead single and video. “The video was really dope,” he said. “The director worked with me on the treatment. It was really his concept on the treatment, but I sent him some references, and he did a really good job at putting it together and making sure it was smart, but it wasn’t too smart. We wanted to have some nostalgic qualities, a hip-hop base, but still wanted to give it an edgy flair.” Miguel said he’s been influenced by Prince and Queen but grew up listening to the kings of rap as well. “The album is what I would describe as being ‘eclec-tric,’ ” he said. “It’s in tone with keeping hip-hop as a base, because that’s what I grew up on, but including and infusing styles such as classic rock and funk. I think people will be excited to hear how we mix that together.” The All I Want Is You album comes out September 14. For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . First Images of Kelly Brook’s Playboy Photoshoot Released

A closer glimpse to Kelly Brook’s Playboy photo shoot has been released. Brook, who will have her sultry images fronting the September issue of the men’s magazine, graces the cover with an umbrella, a bowler hat, a bow-tie, black lacy underwear and has her hands covering her boobs. In addition to the cover image, which is entitled “The U.K’s hottest export”, another revealed-picture shows Brook posing seductively and baring lots of her skin. Brook, however, admitted that she felt nervous about the photo shoot, telling the magazine: “I’m not 20 any more. My boobs are real, and they even hang a little.” Brook was said pocketing a half-a-million dollar to pose naked for the adult magazine. A source also revealed to The Sun, “It’s a real honor to be asked to do Playboy as obviously they are very picky about who they want. And by the same token it’s a real coup for Playboy as there probably isn’t a red-blooded male who won’t be looking forward to the pictures.” http://www.theblogismine.com/2010/08/09/first-images-of-kelly-brooks-playboy-pho… added by: theblogismine

Snooki On Her Arrest: ‘I’m Too Pretty To Be In Jail’

‘I’m not a criminal, and I will never go back there,’ the ‘Jersey Shore’ star says of her jail stay. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Audrey Kim Snooki Photo: MTV News As far as welcome-back parties go, it left a little to be desired. Not long after the “Jersey Shore” crew returned to Seaside Heights following their second-season shoot in Miami, poof-haired reality star Snooki was arrested for disorderly conduct on the boardwalk. Though Snickers spent a few hours in police custody and has an upcoming court date, she’s not taking the whole thing too seriously and is looking forward to a GTL-filled summer at the Shore as the second season of MTV’s show continues. “I don’t know why people are taking it so seriously,” she told MTV News on Friday evening. “I had a couple cocktails and they just put me in a drunk tank to sober me up. I was on the beach. It happens to the best of us, and I’m not planning on going back to jail ever again. I was a public nuisance — big deal!” The disorderly conduct charge carries a potential fine of between $250 and $1,000, but Snooki will not face any jail time . That’s a good thing, clearly, because one place the 22-year-old does not want to be is behind bars. “I’m too pretty to be in jail,” Snooki said. “I’m a good person. I’m not a criminal, and I will never go back there.” “You can’t even contain me,” she added with a laugh. “When I was in there, I was like, ‘Can I come out? I can’t breathe!’ Not a fun place. I will never go back.” What do you think of Snooki’s comments about going to jail? Let us know below! Watch “Jersey Shore” Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
