Yaya DaCosta has landed what some might consider the greatest role of all. The former America’s Next Top Model contestant will anchor Lifetime’s upcoming Whitney Houston biopic as the late/great singer, portraying Houston through her roller coaster relationship with Bobby Brown and detailing her meteoric rise to superstardom. Since appearing on Cycle 3 of the aforementioned CW competition, DaCosta has recurred on such programs as All My Children, Ugly Betty and House. She’s also enjoyed some big screen success, most recently playing a role in Lee Daniels’ The Butler. Former Oscar nominee Angela Bassett will direct the yet-untitled film, which is scheduled for a 2015 release.

Jesse Cottle and his wife Kelly recently posted what they believed to be an everyday photo of themselves to Facebook: The San Diego residents were posing with family members for some beach-based pictures when Cottle took off off his prosthetic legs and jumped on Kelly’s back so she could carry him in to the water. Jesse, a former Marine, lost both his legs after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan in 2009 and this is a simply how he has to move around sometimes. He and Kelly met while he was recovering and they got married last year. Cali Swag District Rapper Passes Away After Succumbing To Sickle Cell Disease Cali Swag District has lost yet another member . The party rap quadrant has now lost JayAre to sickle cell disease. Via MTV.com : Cali Swag District rapper JayAre passed away on Friday (June 6). According to a source who spoke to MTV News, JayAre (born Cheron Childs) suffered from sickle cell anemia and was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night for unknown reasons. While in the hospital JayAre fell into cardiac arrest and died. Tragically, JayAre is not the first Cali Swag District member to pass away at an early age. In May of 2011, CSD member M-Bone was murdered in a drive-by shooting. Several Cali-based artists reacted via Twitter: We are truly sorry to hear about his his sudden and unexpected passing. He told the magazine: ‘To go from hating the way I looked to being a Cosmo centerfold is a profound honor’ When his show, which gave viewers an inside look at the competitive eating industry, ended in 2012 following a four-year run, Mr Richman was left with a 40-inch waistline and what he described to People magazine in September as a ‘doughy face.’ Mr. Richman was motivated to change his lifestyle, which on shoots involved eating 190lb hamburgers and two-gallon sundaes, due to concerns over his health as well as a nonexistent sex life. He retired from the popular show in order to focus on eating better and exercising. He cut out white flour and dairy from his diet and stocked his kitchen cupboards with healthy snacks. ‘I love peanut butter and ice cream but I can’t keep them in my house,’ he explained. Throughout the day he eats small 150-calorie meals every two hours and some of his favorite go-to diet foods include almonds, Greek yogurt, salmon and meal replacement bars. Did The Bachelorette get too real on Monday night? Not real enough? Or did the reality show’s handling of Eric Hill’s death strike just the right note? Clearly it was a tough spot for ABC, which risked trivializing Hill’s legacy by including too much of him on a show with kind of a ridiculous premise. On the flip side, editing him out would not do justice to the standup guy he revealed himself to be, even if it didn’t work out with Andi Dorfman. What happened last night tried to strike a delicate balance, showing how Eric Hill left the show before he died in a paragliding accident in April. Producers chose to show the argument between Eric and Andi, who he accused of not being sincere, which led to him leaving prior to the rose ceremony. At the end of the episode, rather than show the rose ceremony (where Tasos Hernandez was eliminated), Chris Harrison sat down with Dorfman. The show’s beloved host and star then proceeded to discuss Eric and the way he exited, which Andi wishes she could have done differently now. Dorfman had many kind things to say about Hill, even if they did not part on the best of terms, something she said is “a tough pill to swallow.” Harrison said producers had been “carefully and respectfully wading through this, trying to do the right thing,” even if it made for tough decisions. But The Bachelorette almost didn’t air Eric’s elimination, he revealed, before producers realized it would’ve been “inappropriate and insensitive” not to. “Originally, we even had [last night’s episode] just regular with the rose ceremony cut and the cocktail party as usual,” with Eric’s exit being edited out.
