When a fan suggested she was a hypocrite for criticizing Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley while dealing with her own family issues, Tamra went OFF. Bridgette Ramirez wrote on the social media site: “@TamraBarney Would Talk About @SladeSmiley ALL The Time, But Now That Roles Are Reversed … She DOESN’T Like It! @GretchenRossi #Karma” The mother of four snapped back unabashedly: “Oh plz. Oscar-winning filmmaker Malik Bendjelloul was found dead yesterday in Stockholm, Sweden, according to local police officials and the Associated Press. He was only 36 years old. A cause of death was not specified, but spokesperson did say it was not being treated as suspicious . No other details were immediately available. Born and raised in Sweden, Malik Bendjelloul won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2013, for his acclaimed film Searching for Sugar Man . The movie chronicled the life and career of singer Sixto Rodriguez, and the efforts of two of his fans who set out to discover what had become of him. Bendjelloul started off as a child actor in the ’90s. He later studied journalism and media production and worked for a time as a reporter, as well. Searching for Sugar Man was his first feature film documentary. In addition to the Oscar, it won the BAFTA Award for Best Documentary, and accolades from the Directors Guild of America and the Producers Guild of America. R.I.P. Celebrities We Lost in 2014 1. Dean McDermott cheating on Tori Spelling may soon be much lower on the couple’s list of marital troubles. According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Dean’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, accused McDermott of alcoholism, drug addiction and violent fits of anger during their 2005 divorce proceedings. In sworn testimony, Eustace claimed McDermott’s anger problem was so bad that on their first date she witnessed him violently beating his dog for knocking over a garbage can. Recalling the incident, Eustace claims, “Dean McDermott repeatedly and violently beat the dog with his fists and a rolled-up newspaper.” Probably would’ve been a deal-breaking moment for most women, but Eustace went on to marry McDermott and have a kid with him. Needless to say he wasn’t the greatest dad: According to Eustace, McDermott once missed a family event attended by her parents and their infant son because he “didn’t feel well.” Halfway through the gathering, however, McDermott walked into the room and tossed a bag of cocaine on a table. He tearfully confessed that he had a cocaine problem and had repeatedly used coke and gotten drunk while alone with his son. Eustace enrolled McDermott in a treatment program, but he began using again shortly after being released. When he divorced Eustace, McDermott made a point of assuring her that he was not under the influence of any drugs other than anti-depressants at the time of his decision. What a guy! Sure, Rihanna laughed at Ariana Grande during a recent performance, but that embarrassing incident aside, Ariana has been crushing it career-wise lately and it was announced today that she’ll be performing her hit song “Problem” along with Iggy Azalea at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. Ariana is a natural choice for the show, as “Problem” debuted at number one on Billboard ‘s digital songs chart and is currently number three on the magazine’s Hot 100. The first single from Grande’s forthcoming studio album has been such a success that even a teaser for the “Problem” video became a viral sensation online. Ariana and Iggy join a list of previously announced performers that includes Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Jason Derulo. In addition to performing at the show, Ariana is nominated for Top New Artist. No slouch in her own right, Azalea is scheduled to perform her solo hit “Fancy.” The success of that single makes Iggy the first female rapper with two songs concurrently in the Billboard Top 5. Keith Crisco, the Democratic candidate running against Clay Aiken in North Carolina’s Second Congressional District, died at his home in Asheboro on Monday. He was 71 years old. Initial reports indicate Crisco suffered injuries from a fall at his house around 1 p.m. today. He was announced dead at the scene. At the time of Crisco’s passing, the District 2 race was considered “too close to call,” though Aiken lead Crisco by 369 votes at last count. “I am stunned and deeply saddened by Keith Crisco’s death,” the former American Idol runner-up said in a statement. “He was a gentleman, a good and honorable man and an extraordinary public servant. I was honored to know him.” Aiken added that he is “suspending all campaign activities as we pray for his family and friends.” Crisco served as Secretary of the North Caroline Department of Commerce before leaving his post in 2012 and taught Sunday school at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro.
