Robert Loggia Dies; Legendary Actor Was 85

Robert Loggia – the actor who is perhaps best known for his role as drug kingpin Frank Lopez in Scarface – has passed away at the age of 85. According to Variety , Loggia passed away at his home in Los Angeles just hours ago. His wife of 33 years, Cynthia Loggia, reports that he had been battling Alzheimer’s disease. Loggia appeared in over 60 films and television shows over the course of his nearly six-decade career in Hollywood. In addition to his role in Scarface, he’s best known to modern audiences for his work on such films and as An Officer and a Gentleman, Big, and Independence Day. Loggia was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1986 for his work in Jagged Edge. Though primarily a star of the big screen, Loggia also played memorable roles on The Sporanos and Malcolm in the Middle. The latter earned him a nomination for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. While he made a career of playing hardboiled gangsters and grizzled cops, friends and family say Loggia was a kind and compassionate man who always made time for his fans and loved to laugh at himself. Fans of the Fox sitcom Family Guy will likely recall the oft-quoted scene in which Loggia lampoons his celebrity status by slowly spelling out his name to an airport check-in clerk. (“‘R,’ as in ‘Robert Loggia, ‘O,’ as in ‘Oh my God, it’s Robert Loggia!'”) The consummate “actor’s actor,” Loggia nurtured the career of many and up-and-comers, and colleagues and proteges alike are currently paying tribute to the late legend on social media. Melvin Williams Dies; The Wire Actor Was 73

In his youth, Melvin Williams was a West Baltimore drug lord who served two nearly decades in prison after being arrested in a sting operation organized by homicide detective Ed Burns in 1984. Many years later, when Burns was co-creating the acclaimed HBO series The Wire, he used Williams as the inspiration for ruthless kingpin Avon Barksdale – and he showed his gratitude to Williams by casting him as one of the show’s most sympathetic characters: Williams appeared as The Deacon on several episodes of The Wire during the series’ third and fourth seasons. Though he’d never acted before, his authentic, compassionate performance drew raves from critics. Interestingly, Williams crossed paths with both of the show’s creators in his days as a dealer-turned-convict.  Former journalist and The Wire executive producer David Simon wrote a revealing profile of Williams during his time with The Baltimore Sun: “He was West Baltimore’s man child,” Simon wrote, “quick witted and calculating, a prodigy from Pennsylvania Avenue’s pool halls and juke joints, where the hustler’s game was played night after night.” At the peak of his power, Williams was such a feared and respected figure that city officials called upon him to help quell the riots that followed the 1968 assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Of course, ironically, Williams greatest legacy will always be his role in the wiretap investigation that led to his arrest  – and inspired a cop and a newspaperman to create one of TV’s greatest dramas. Hysterical Baby Can Only Be Soothed by Adele

Adele is absolutely everywhere these days. She's performing on Saturday Night Live. She's posing for the cover of Rolling Stone . She's breaking every music record imaginable. But did you know she's also inside the hearts and minds of kids everywhere? We've already given readers a look at a toddler who responded to Adele's smash hit “Hello” by hilariously talking back to the solo superstar . And now we're here with footage of a young child whose mother says is going through the pain of teething, thanks to our friends at My Fanatic . As all parents knows, this is nearly impossible to combat. Your child is growing a new tooth and it has to make its way up through the gum and it hurts. A LOT. It hurts a lot and it hurts non-stop and sucking on something cold can only help so much. There's barely anything you can do… unless your child loves Adele, that is! In the following video, we see a boy who is in lots of pain. He's crying and he's crying and it seems like all hope is lost. But then he hears one magical word: HELLO . That's all it takes. At the very first syllable uttered by the best singer on the planet, the boy quiets down and listens intently. He clearly doesn't want to miss a note. And you won't want to miss this video. It's downright hilarious… and it also makes it official: Adele cannot be stopped. She can do absolutely everything.

Lark Voorhies Posts EPIC Instagram Rant: I Don’t Have a Sex Tape! My Ex’s Junk Smells Like Corn Chips!

For four seasons, Lark Voorhies wisely rejected the advances of Dustin Diamond’s Screech on Saved By the Bell. Unfortunately, in real life the 41-year-old actress is not as adept at avoiding romantic entanglements with creepy losers. As you may have heard, Voorhies married Jimmy Green  in a quickie Vegas ceremony just a few months after meeting him on Facebook. Astonishingly, the marriage didn’t last. In fact, it imploded in epic fashion just days after Lark and Jimmy exchanged vows. It turns out Green was a homeless gang member who was frequently busted sleeping in the closets of Lark’s mother’s home. (Lark lives with her mom, and the husband and wife were forbidden to have sleepovers.) After the divorce, Green claimed to be in possession of a  sex tape starring Voorhies , but she insisted that no such footage exists. Earlier today, she doubled down on that claim in one of the most bonkers rants ever posted to Instagram: “To whom this may concern. I am single! Jimmy couldn’t fork up a dime for our divorce,” the post reads. “There’s an active restraining order that he continues to violate. No sex tape even physically exists. Do you really think he could afford a camera?” “I gave him money multiple times and put minutes on his Obama phone. You better take a U-Turn on that bus. Everyone in Pasadena knows you’re a joke. Gang Member? You lost your job at Taco Bell. “Your penis is NOTHING to brag about! Is it normal for a penis to smell like corn chips?” Yes, the word is out in Pasadena: Jimmy is suffering from a chronic case of Frito dong.  Sources say the man’s wang should be providing the crunch in chili pie, not making sex tapes with washed-up ’90s stars. We imagine Lark is still trying to get the grease off of her fingers. Anyway, Voorhies later posted a retraction in which she stated that her account was hacked, but we’re calling shenanigans on that claim. Not only did she never delete the original post, she later went off on Jimmy again , this time warning that she’ll sue anyone who interviews him.  We’re not doubting that Jimmy is a little unstable, but it sounds like he and Lark may have actually been a pretty good match.

Khloe Kardashian Laments "Worst Year of My Life"

The day before Thanksgiving, Khloe Kardashian made it clear on Twitter that she has at least one thing to be thankful for this year: The fact that the year is nearly coming to an end. In response to a follower on Wednesday (who said Khloe is “[hot] asf” and that 2015 was “good to her,” except for the whole “Lamar thing”), Khloe responded with an “lol” and the remark: “hands down worst year of my life.” It’s not hard to imagine why Kardashian would feel this way. On October 13, estranged husband Lamar Odom fell unconscious at a Las Vegas brothel, with reports later confirming the presence of drugs in his system. Odom was eventually moved to a Los Angeles hospital, where Khloe has been spending pretty much all of her time ever since. As a result of her care for him, Khloe developed a staph infection that forced her to cancel dates on her scheduled book signing tour. In February, meanwhile, Khloe and multiple relatives a car accident during a ski vacation, though no one was seriously hurt in the crash. Then, of course, there was the Caitlyn Jenner announcement. While Khloe has been very supportive of her stepfather’s transition, she has also admitted that it was challenging at first; that it felt as if she had lost someone close to her in Bruce Jenner. “It was difficult for me that Bruce wasn’t honest with me,” Khloe told Redbook. “The transition had nothing to do with it…I love Caitlyn. She still likes us to call her our dad, but it’s hard when, you know, Dad’s now wearing a dress.” Fortunately, after another follower asked Khloe how she was feeling on Twitter, she offered up some hope to all fans. “Better everyday,” Kardashian responded. David Canary Dies; All My Children Star Was 77 Years Old

The soap opera universe has lost a legend. David Canary, who won five Daytime Emmy Awards for portraying twins Adam and Stuart Chandler on All My Children, died on November 16 of natural causes, it was confirmed today. He was 77 years old. The veteran actor was mostly a theater actor prior to breaking into television in the 1960s, initially as Mia Farrow’s physical therapist in Peyton Place and then as Ponderosa ranch foreman Candy Canaday in Bonanza. In 1978, Canary began his long and respected daytime drama career with a role on Search for Tomorrow. He followed this up with stints on The Doctors and Another World, before finally kicking off his 27-year run on All My Children in 1983. Although he returned to the series a few times in 2011, Canary essentially left both All My Children and the acting profession entirely in 2010. “So sad to learn of the passing of the great David Canary,” wrote Kelly Ripa, who knew Canary from her time on All My Children. “A incredibly talented actor. A wonderful man. I was lucky to know you.” Another former co-star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, added: “#rip #DavidCanary You were the epitome of class. Leah Messer to Win Back Custody of Twin Daughters?!

Last month, Leah Messer lost custody of her twin daughters to ex-husband Corey Simms. Though Leah gets to spend time with 5-year-olds Ali and Aleeah on weekends, the girls spend most of their week living with Simms and his new wife and daughter. Now, Radar Online is reporting that Leah recently scored a major legal victory that could be the first step in regaining custody of the twins. The court’s determination that Ali and Aleeah should stay with their father during the school week was based largely on Simms’ claim that the girls were frequently late for school. Leah insisted from the start that that was a lie, and now, she’s reportedly been able to secure time-stamped photos of her drop-offs and, as well as testimony from the school’s superintendent to prove that the girls were almost always on time. “Leah had all kinds of proof to shut them down,” says one insider. “They admitted the records were inaccurate.” Leah’s lawyers have even gone so far as to Corey and his new wife of manipulating evidence. Sources say it’s noe looking as though Leah will be successful in her efforts to have a judge re-examine her case. “Leah is convinced Corey and Miranda persuaded a school employee to mark them tardy,” says the insider.  “She has a good chance of bringing this to the court. She really could get her daughters back.” Of course, just proving that she’s been consistently able to get the girls to school on time likely won’t be enough to convince a judge to restore custody to Leah. Leah’s drug problems have been well-documented, but she appears to still be in denial about her addiction.  Additionally, the worst cases of Leah’s negligent parenting (many of which were captured by Teen Mom cameras) are sure to be brought up by Simms’ lawyers. Leah may be making strides these days, but she has a long way to go to convince the court that she can provide a suitable home for Ali and Aleeah. Kaley Cuoco Covers Up Tattoo Tribute to Ryan Sweeting

Back in September, Kaley Cuoco filed for divorce from Ryan Sweeting after less than two years of marriage. Few were surprised, as Kaley and Ryan got married after just three months of dating. Despite that, Kaley was so certain she and Sweeting were in it for life that she decided to get her wedding anniversary tattooed on the back of her neck. Whoops… Yes, thankfully, Kaley has finally decided to get the ill-considered ink covered up. And fortunately, she hasn’t lost her sense of humor. Cuoco posted the two pics above with captions reading: “Thank you @nero_sct @studiocitytattoo for helping me right my wrongs…note to self- do not mark your body with any future wedding dates #under30mistakes #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids” And, “The deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink, is….. It covered the last one.” Kaley turns the big 3-0 next week, so we guess she better use that #under30mistakes” hashtag while she can. No, the really important thing is that Kaley is able to laugh at her mistakes – including the fairly major error of marrying a dude she’d only known for three months. By all accounts, the marriage didn’t end amicably, and several insiders have claimed that a drug-addled  Sweeting disappeared for several days before Kaley decided to call it quits.  Needless to say, she’s had a rough few months. So when Kaley encourages us not to take things too seriously, the advice has real meaning. The girl knows how to laugh at herself.

Scandal Abortion Shocker Slammed as "Moral Depravity" Run Amok

Forgive the obvious introduction, but Scandal finds itself embroiled in a pretty big scandal at the moment. On Scandal Season 5 Episode 9 last night, the Shonda Rhimes-produced drama made it as clear as possible without showing the intimate details: Olivia Pope got an abortion. At one point during the hour, Kerry Washington’s main character lay down on a medical table with her legs spread open. A doctor then turned on a machine and began the procedure. Lending credence to the belief that Pope was undergoing an abortion, the scene took place after a related storyline in which Senator Mellie Grant successfully filibustered to prevent a spending bill that could have led to the defunding of Planned Parenthood. Prett risky move for the series, huh? Pretty ridiculous and unethical move for the series, according to the Media Research Center. “Hollywood’s liberal values permeate movies and television. Last night’s episode of ABC’s Scandal was pretty much an hour-long advertisement for Planned Parenthood,” wrote the conservative group, adding: “In the most disturbing scene, the main character has an abortion to ‘Silent Night’ (a hymn celebrating the birth of Jesus) playing in the background. “This is Hollywood’s moral depravity on full display.” View Slideshow: Scandal Cast Through the Years Conversely, Planned Parenthood released a statement of its own in regard to the unexpected development: Tonight, the millions of people who tune into ‘Scandal’ every Thursday night learned that our rights to reproductive health care are under attack. Never one to shy away from critical issues, Shonda Rhimes used her platform to tell the world that if Planned Parenthood lost funding for contraception counseling, STI testing, cancer screenings, and safe, legal abortion – millions of people would suffer. And this episode wasn’t the first time one of Rhimes’ characters had an abortion, yet tonight we saw one of our favorite characters make the deeply personal decision that one in three women have made in their lifetime. We applaud Shonda Rhimes tonight – and every Thursday night – for proving that when women are telling our stories, the world will pause and watch. We just hope those in Congress – and throughout the nation – who are steadfast on rolling the clock back on reproductive health care access are taking note. Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick: Back Together, Having "Non-Stop Sex," Source Claims

For months now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Scott Disick is trying to win Kourtney Kardashian back , and at first it seemed like a real longshot.  Now, it looks as though the couple is not only reconciling, they’re enjoying one another’s company so much that even the neighbors know they’re back together! According to Radar Online, Scott and Kourtney are making up for lost time by going at it like newlyweds. It’s enough to make you wonder how many bed frames the couple will destroy if they ever actually get married. “Kourtney and Scott are having nonstop sex and she says that it is through the roof,” says one source. The insider claims Scott was “blown away” by the sight of Kourtney’s “revenge body,” and Kourtney (ever the pragmatist) was turned on by Scott’s commitment to staying sober and being a better dad. “She says that sober sex with Scott is the best they have ever had,” says the source. “They are going at it like high-schoolers and it is making their feelings for each other so much stronger right now. “Scott is giving her everything that she ever wanted from him.” We don’t think that last remark is meant to be taken sexually. Scott’s been apologizing to everyone in his life (including Kourtney and her family) ever since he left rehab. More importantly, Disick has been spending time with his kids , which was a rarity in his hard-drinking days.
