Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart And 2010’s Other Best Couples

50 Cent and Chelsea Handler and Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal also made us swoon this year. By Jocelyn Vena Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Photo: Getty Images Love bloomed in 2010. While some of the year’s celebrity hookups made sense, we have to admit that at least one of MTV News’ favorite couples of the year kind of had us scratching our heads, even if they do look adorable together. What was the trend for 2010 when it comes to love in the world of entertainment? Musicians love comedians! Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson They may refuse to talk about it, but 2010 seemed to confirm long-simmering suspicions that RPattz and KStew had taken their onscreen love affair offscreen, thanks to a number of high-profile sightings over the course of the year. Who could forget when they kissed at the MTV Movie Awards in June and then spent the summer shooting separate flicks, still finding time to hang out together? Pattinson visited Stewart on the set of “On the Road,” and the pair flew the friendly skies together. They grabbed a meal together in L.A., which seems to be a very coupley thing to do. The two were also spotted kissing on the beach for a “Breaking Dawn” honeymoon scene. Katy Perry and Russell Brand Katy and Russell not only made our list of the best weddings of 2010, but their adorableness also landed them on the Best Couples of 2010 list. They kicked off the new year with their engagement and then quickly became a red carpet staple, hitting up the Grammy parties , goofing around about their relationship, with Perry calling Brand a “bridezilla,” and then hyping up each other’s projects, with Brand giving props to Perry’s “California Gurls.” The duo talked each other up throughout much of the year, culminating in their October wedding . And what better way to celebrate their love than with Perry taking Brand’s last name ? 50 Cent and Chelsea Handler It all began in October after Handler, who hosted the MTV Video Music Awards in September, and the rapper were spotted hanging out in New Orleans, listening to jazz and getting cozy. Handler quickly denied there was a romance brewing. Shortly after denying there was anything going on, Handler took to her Twitter to once again deny the fling after one of the panelists on her “Chelsea Lately” show referenced their supposed hookup. Fifty also denied a romance , saying the pair were discussing a potential film project. Weeks later, the couple were spotted just chillin’ in Malibu . She later stuck to her guns about their relationship, saying they were just talking business . Oh yeah, she also tweeted a photo of them snuggling in bed together. Hey, even if they are just friends, we kind of love them as a couple. Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal It all started in late October when Taylor was spotted hanging out with Jake in New York City. She brushed off romance rumors during a chat with Ellen DeGeneres , and even Jake-associate Anne Hathaway seemed to want to squelch the rumors. But the pair were subsequently spotted all over the globe getting lattes and sharing embraces together. And this month, actress Gwyneth Paltrow admitted she hosted a dinner for the pair in November. Let’s hope they can keep it strong in 2011 (or at least hope for an awesome breakup ballad from Taylor). Sammi and Ronnie They fell in love during season one of “Jersey Shore,” but then broke up on the season’s reunion special. So, when they landed in Miami and Ronnie was caught hitting on girls in South Beach, who would have thought they’d end up together again? Not Snooki and JWoww , who tried to his expose his lothario ways. But the heart wants what the heart wants and, well, it seems that the two couldn’t resist each other and they eventually got back together . With a new season of “Jersey Shore” set to kick off on January 6, let’s hope Sammi and Ronnie warm up the beach a little longer. Who is your favorite couple of 2010? Tell us in the comments! Justin Bieber’s ‘Ride’ Leaks Online

The previously unheard tune appeared on the Internet Wednesday. By James Dinh Justin Bieber Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage Despite his young and tender age, it should be painfully apparent that Justin Bieber is quite the ladies’ man. So it comes as no surprise that the pop star took to the studio to confess his love-stricken teenage emotions through his music. In the latest of his odes to women comes the previously unheard track called “Ride,” which surfaced on the Internet Wednesday (December 22). Over a beat that sounds similar to old-school video game sound effects, Bieber serenades his adorer, confessing that he’d go above and beyond to spend time with her. “We could go anywhere, to the moon and through the air/ We could go to the movies or the mall, baby I don’t care/ Yeah this is true, wanna be with you/ And I just wanna ride with you,” he sings. No word on whether the sugary tune is old or a possible submission for Bieber’s next project. However, the tune sounds like it might be a demo for a female vocalist as the pop singer ends the first verse with the line: “I could be your queen but you could be my boo.” “Ride” isn’t the only new Bieber song to have surfaced online recently as Justin’s club-ready “Latin Girl” also leaked just a few weeks ago. In addition to the tracks, Biebs has also been in and out of the recording studio with some familiar faces working on his next album, which is tentatively set to drop late next year. While it’s not clear whether Diddy will make an appearance on the Canadian heartthrob’s next project, one act the singer is confirmed to have worked with is Rascal Flatts . The country trio’s lead singer, Gary LeVox, spoke about the Bieber collabo in a recent interview with country radio station WSIX. “[Justin] asked us to do a duet with him on his next record,” he said. “It’s actually a really good song! The kid is really talented. He plays five or six different instruments really well.” Related Artists Justin Bieber

Lindsay Lohan’s Pale Nipple of the Day

In my mind, Lindsay Lohan is a Christmas miracle that keeps on giving. I am not talking about her herpes, that is controlled thanks to valtrex. I am talking about her as a person. She just constantly comes out of the woodwork with her amazing fucking tits that I regret not making her show me the time I snuck into some party to hang out with her when she was in Montreal and she was too friendly to get me kicked out, because everything about this girl is amazing, except maybe that she gave me a wrong number and I’ve never been able to reconnect our love at first sight from that lovely night, not that that’s never happened before, the fake number thing is almost obvious…..not that that would ever make me hate this tits…they just always appear when I’m about to forget Lohan….. I just know these are better than Santa Claus.

Atheist Ads on Buses Rattle Fort Worth

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/14/us/14atheist.html?pagewanted=2&_r=2 FORT WORTH — Stand on a corner in this city and you might get a case of theological whiplash. A public bus rolls by with an atheist message on its side: “Millions of people are good without God.” Seconds later, a van follows bearing a riposte: “I still love you. — God,” with another line that says, “2.1 billion Christians are good with God.” A clash of beliefs has rattled this city ever since atheists bought ad space on four city buses to reach out to nonbelievers who might feel isolated during the Christmas season. After all, Fort Worth is a place where residents commonly ask people they have just met where they worship and many encounters end with, “Have a blessed day.” “We want to tell people they are not alone,” said Terry McDonald, the chairman of Metroplex Atheists, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Coalition of Reason, which paid for the atheist ads. “People don’t realize there are other atheists. All you hear around here is, ‘Where do you go to church?’ ” But the reaction from believers has been harsher than anyone in the nonbeliever’s club expected. Some ministers organized a boycott of the buses, with limited success. Other clergy members are pressing the Fort Worth Transportation Authority to ban all religious advertising on public buses. And a group of local businessmen paid for the van with the Christian message to follow the atheist-messaged buses around town. “We just wanted to reach out to them and let them know about God’s love,” said Heath Hill, president of the media company that owns the van and one of the businessmen who arranged for the Christian ads. “We have gotten some pretty nasty e-mails and phone calls from atheists. But it’s really just about the love of God.” The face-off here follows efforts in other cities by several coalitions of atheists — American Atheists, the United Coalition of Reason and the Freedom From Religion Foundation, to name a few — that have mounted ad campaigns to encourage nonbelievers to seek out others of like mind. Some have compared their efforts to the struggle of gay men and lesbians to “come out” and win acceptance from society. In New York City, a large billboard promoting atheism at the entrance of the Lincoln Tunnel, which a local affiliate of American Atheists paid for, has generated controversy. (The message: “You know it’s a myth. This season, celebrate reason!) The Fort Worth group is affiliated with the United Coalition of Reason, whose local chapters have bought bus ads in Detroit, northwest Arkansas, Philadelphia and Washington, as well as billboards in more than a dozen cities, among them Chicago, Houston, New Orleans, Seattle and St. Louis. Most show a blue sky with variations on this message: “Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.” The ads have incited anger in some places. Vandals destroyed two bus ads in Detroit, ruined a billboard in Tampa, Fla., and defaced 10 billboards in Sacramento. One billboard in Cincinnati was taken down after the landlord received threats. And the local rapid transit authority in Des Moines pulled atheist ads off its buses in August last year because of complaints from local religious leaders. Four days later, however, the authority reversed its position after the local group that had bought the ads threatened legal action on First Amendment grounds. But nowhere has the reaction of believers been so forceful as in Fort Worth, to the delight of Fred Edwords, the national director of the United Coalition of Reason. The coalition’s local chapter spent only $2,400 for four bus ads, which will run through the month in a city with about 200 buses. “That’s more brouhaha for the buck than we have seen anywhere,” Mr. Edwords said. Some of the fiercest criticism has come from black religious leaders. The Rev. Kyev Tatum Sr., president of the local Southern Christian Leadership Conference, has called for a boycott of the buses, saying the ads are a direct attack during a sacred time in the Christian calendar. “It’s a season to share good will toward all men,” Mr. Tatum said. “To have this at this time come out with a blatant disrespect of our faith, we think is unconscionable.” While Mr. Tatum and about 20 other pastors have urged their congregations to avoid the buses, a smaller group met recently with the transportation authority’s president to demand that the policy allowing religious advertising on buses be reversed Wednesday at a meeting of the authority’s board. The bus system in nearby Dallas bans all religious ads. “I’m not against them getting their message out,” said the Rev. Julius L. Jackson, pastor at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. “I just don’t think it should be on public transportation.” Dick Ruddell, the president of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, said churches were free to advertise. The only ads not accepted, Mr. Ruddell said, are those that have to do with a few vices, like cigarettes and alcohol. “There is nothing in the policy about religious content,” he said. Not all religious leaders are offended by the bus ads. “It doesn’t seem to me as an in-your-face, God-is-not-good message,” said Tim Bruster, the senior pastor at First United Methodist Church, where 3,500 families worship. “My very strong opinion is that, as people of faith, the very thing we should not do is lash out and condemn.” Mr. McDonald, chairman of the local atheist group, said the ad was intended not to insult Christians, but to console atheists. The initial plan, he said, was to run the ad on the Fourth of July, which is why it features dozens of portraits of Texas atheists in an American flag motif. But raising money and pulling together photos took longer than expected, he said, and the ad was not ready until last month. “It can be pretty lonely for a nonbeliever at Christmastime around here. There is so much religion,” Mr. McDonald said. “We thought, ‘What the heck? Nobody owns December.’ ” added by: Almibry

Americans Losing Interest in Killing Wildlife For Fun

Photo via American Hunter Whether it be lurking through the brush with a bow in search of deer, or picking off wolves with a high-powered rifle from the comfort of a helicopter, Americans have a long history of hunting for sport — but this love-affair with killing animals has apparently been fizzling over the years. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 33 states across the country have seen a sharp drop in the number of hunting licenses sold in the past two decades. Experts suspect that… Read the full story on TreeHugger
