Following a dismal and embarrassing rookie campaign, NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has entered a treatment facility. A first round draft pick out of Texas A&M, Manziel finished this season with just 112 total passing yards, two interceptions and zero touchdowns. The Browns were shutout in his only start and rumors circulated all year long of Manziel’s irresponsible, hard-partying, idiotic, Justin Bieber -like lifestyle. Advisor Brad Beckworth tells ESPN that Manziel checked in to rehab last Wednesday, though he did not provide a specific reason why. “Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step,” Beckworth said in a statement. We presume, in this case, the areas in which Manziel needs to improve do not include arm strength, accuracy or dedication to game film viewing. “On behalf of Johnny and his family, we’re asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland,” Beckworth concluded. Fans of Girl Scout Cookies (a.k.a. humans) are in for some great news. Three new flavors of Girl Scout Cookies are coming this year, and two of them are gluten-free! The three new flavors joining the cookie lineup for 2015: Rah-Rah Raisins Toffee-tastic Trios All will be available this selling season, which lasts from mid-January until the end of April, and the latter two of three are gluten-free offerings, to boot. Toffee-tastic, a buttery Girl Scout cookie featuring toffee bits, and Trios, which combine peanut butter, chocolate chips and whole grain oats, will make history. In 98 years of Girl Scout cookies, they will be the first gluten-free versions available nationally. Last year’s Chocolate Chip Shortbread was sold in select markets. The third new flavor, Rah-Rah Raisins, is not gluten-free, but a standard oatmeal raisin cookie with whole grain oats, raisins, and Greek yogurt-flavored chunks. Now Manziel finds himself at the heart of a potentially scandalous situation that could turn out to be the latest in a long line of embarrassments for the NFL. According to a police report obtained by a Cleveland blogger, the trouble began when Manziel and his entourage were waiting for an elevator in the lobby of an upscale apartment building late Friday night. 33-year-old Chris Gonos approached Manziel, stated that he’s “the biggest Browns fan ever,” and requested a hug. Gonos walked toward Manziel and was promptly punched in the face. Manziel’s entourage then attacked Gonos, punching and kicking the victim as he lay on the ground. Gonos spoke out on the incident earlier today: “My brother say what was going on and he ran, he tackled Manziel,” Gonos claims. “I guess he got the sack and the fumble…I’m talking he speared him all the way to the back wall.” “I was cornered…and Johnny Manziel and like three or four of his buddies were all coming at me. [My brother] just came to help me out and I guess Johnny sucker punched him while the security guard was holding him.” Gonos added that he believes the entire incident was captured by security cameras.
