Here is a photo and even more details on Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s baby shower : Mariah Carey isn’t really one for subtly, so it’s no surprise her baby shower was a lavish over-the-top affair. The 41-year-old star, who is currently expecting twins with Nick Cannon, 31, has released photographs from the celebration, which was held at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunday. The singer, who wore a Roberto Cavalli dress for the occasion, is seen taking pride of place in a plush chair while her doting husband caresses her growing baby bump. ‘Nick and I were so grateful to everyone who came with us to celebrate,’ she told America’s Life & Style magazine. ‘There was a lot of love in the room, and to top it off, fans from more than 50 countries sent well-wishes in a book they made for our twins titled Always Be My Babies. ‘It was a night I will never forget.’ Cannon is said to have also enjoyed the shower, with a close friend of the couple, describing him as ‘very loving’. ‘Seeing them together as a couple they’re very loving with each other and you can just feel the excitement between them over the babies,’ Stefano Zagni told Radar online. ‘During the baby shower Nick was running around with his camera taking lots of pictures but every two or three minutes he would go over to check on Mariah and see if she was okay. ‘He dotes on her. They completely adore each other and are so much in love. ‘I just think they’re going to be the perfect family. I really do. I think they’re going to make great parents. They’re going to be very loving and hands-on.’ Mariah is expected to give birth in at the end of April. Source
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon recently held their baby shower with a small group of friends and family at the rooftop Conservatory Grill at the Montage hotel. Their twin boy and girl are due in late April or early May. Life & Style got the private details. The shower was decorated in pink and blue, from the balloons and flowers to the servers’ aprons and the napkins. Guests, including “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson, snacked on gourmet pizzas and appetizers and enjoyed Mariah’s very own champagne, Angel. A 6-foot-long gift table was filled with tiny outfits, books and stuffed animals but possibly the best gift she was given came from her fans. “I’d never been to a baby shower. This was my first one — it was so festive! … There was a lot of love in the room, and to top it off, fans from more than 50 countries sent well-wishes and stories in a book they made for our twins titled ‘Always Be My Babies,’ which was the sweetest gesture in the world. ‘Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was,’ actor writes following head-on collision. By MTV News staff David Arquette Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage While it was reported that David Arquette was lying on the ground and bleeding after a head-on car crash Friday (March 4), the recently embattled actor took to Twitter hours later to let his followers know he’s going to be OK. “I got into a car accident but I’m fine,” he tweeted, adding a quip about tiger-blooded fellow actor Charlie Sheen . “Luckily I have dragon’s blood running through my veins. Haha Thank you for all your concern.” A few minutes before that message, Arquette tweeted , “Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was.” According to TMZ , Arquette was driving in West Hollywood, California, when his car veered into oncoming traffic. A photograph posted on the site showed Arquette lying on his back in the grass with his eyes closed and his hands crossed over his chest. The “Scream 4” actor has had a difficult few months beginning last October when he and his wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox, announced their plans to separate . Since that announcement, Arquette spent time at a rehabilitation facility to deal with alcohol abuse and “other issues.” “Everybody’s worried and concerned about me,” Arquette said during one of a series of revealing interviews with friend and radio host Howard Stern. “I’ve been drinking a lot because I’m heartbroken. It’s really a personal, traumatic thing. … When I drink, I become a maniac.” Arquette had previously revealed to Stern details about his sex life with his ex and his distress over the separation. At the time he checked into rehab earlier this year, Courteney Cox told People magazine, “I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.”
Top 13 finalist tells MTV News she’ll dabble in more bilingual singing: ‘I have it in my blood.’ By Kara Warner Karen Rodriguez Photo: MTV News Newly anointed top 13 “American Idol” contestant Karen Rodriguez wowed the audience and judges’ panel earlier this week with her performance of Mariah Carey’s power ballad “Hero.” While her song choice wasn’t particularly unusual, the fact that Rodriguez chose to deliver the song in both English and Spanish was. When MTV News caught up with the bilingual, aspiring “Idol” champ after Thursday’s first elimination episode, we asked Rodriguez about her decision to sing in Spanish and what other songs she wants to do in two languages. “I decided to sing in Spanish because I am a Latina,” she explained. “I want to represent for all my Latinos out there. America is a big melting pot, it’s not only English, there are so many languages infused in this country and I just wanted to support my race,” Rodriguez said. “I have it in my blood, it lives inside me and I have to be who I am.” The 21-year-old went on to say that if America wants her to be the next “American Idol,” they have to accept her for who she is. “There’s nothing I can do to change that but just be proud,” she said of being Latina. With regard to how often Rodriguez plans to bring out her Latin side and sing in Espa

If most American Idol viewers agree that Pia Toscano put on the best semifinalist performance last night among the remaining 12 women, these same fans would say that Karen Rodriguez put on the most interesting. Perhaps even the most scandalous, according to THG readers. The New York native threw in a twist to her rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Hero,” singing almost half of the song in Spanish. This actually riled up a few respondents in our blog , who called Karen out for daring to be different. Watch the performance now and sound off: Do you see anything wrong with the inclusion of a Spanish verse? Karen Rodriguez – Hero
Following her recent release from prison , where she served three years on aggravated assault charges, Bossip spoke to Da Brat about life behind bars, her newfound freedom and what the future holds. Bossip: Who held you down while you were locked up? Da Brat: All my family, all my friends. My mother — of course my sister. JD wrote me. Despite what people had to say about my brother JD , he just could not see me in that light and I understand that. Some people don’t want to see their people locked down, so I’m not mad at him at all. I love him and I know he loves me despite whatever negative things other people are saying. Mariah [Carey] and Nick {Cannon} came… Kat Williams came… my cousin Stacy came. Mister and Jamel and Ralph came. Everybody came and they didn’t come just once. Somebody was there every week. Sometimes I was like look i don’t want to come up there I’m tired and I want to rest this weekend but they were like ‘No you’re getting up!’ and I had to sit in visitation with all those people. I had mad love and I’m grateful. I didn’t realize how many people really loved me still. I got like 20-30 pieces of mail a day from fans. I’m grateful for that because some people in there didn’t have nobody. Bossip: How does it feel to be out? Da Brat: I’m blessed to be out. I’m not sleeping on a mattress that’s two inches thick, I don’t got to be worried about what they got to eat. I can eat whatever I want to eat. They didn’t have no vegetables. I didn’t eat none of the stuff they had at chow except when they had “real chicken” — you know chicken on the bone. I ate mostly from the store. Mostly tuna. The basic meal is ramen noodles, but if you eat that sh*t you will get fat as hell. I was eating those for a minute and then I was like “ohhh” I had to back up off of it. What were some of the challenges inside? Some of the officers were haters of course. When you come in they pre-judge you. They think “Oh you some rapper, you think you hard and you think you this and you gonna come in wildin’ out” but it wasn’t like that. I had to learn to hold my peace, cuz you know when someone is screaming in your face you want to be like, “Who the f*ck is you talking to?” especially when it’s someone younger than you. Once the officers got to know me everybody was like “Ah you’re mad cool, you’re nothing like what you thought you were.” I’m not a problem causing person it’s just there was a situation where it made me react the way that I reacted. Everybody makes mistakes and I can’t wait until I can tell my side of the story. I can’t right now because there’s a suit still going on. It didn’t happen like people think it happened and when this is all over, don’t worry, when it’s all over and everybody is straight, I can’t wait to tell my side of the story. Because I did not just do something vicious. I’m not trying to go back even though I was a boss b*tch in there. I had everything I needed. Everything was straight, but I’m not trying to go back. I’m not trying to glorify it because it was not no place you want to go to. We just knew you had them in there trying to braid your hair. Man… They was fighting over who got to braid my hair. I had to be like ‘Okay you can braid it this week and you can braid it next week.’ It was all good really. I had no issues whatsoever. I had to cuss a couple of people out because you know if you come across as too nice people are going to try and take advantage. A couple people tried to test, but once I got in that a*s like “Eh-eh it ain’t happening, don’t even try it.” You gotta let them know and once I did that nobody tried me since.”
