By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Damian Vaca Adam Lambert Photo: MTV News As the newly shaken-up “American Idol” debuts on Wednesday (January 19), fans are ready to weigh in on how spankin’ new judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, will fare — and how they’ll look. MTV News recently caught up with “Idol” alum Adam Lambert at the season-three premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in Los Angeles, and he mused that when it comes to fashion, both Lopez and Tyler will bring their A-list style game. “I’m sure they’re gonna be top-of-the-notch. Steven Tyler, I mean, he’s a legend. And J. Lo has always been beautiful. I remember when I was a kid graduating high school and ‘Waiting for Tonight’ came out. Remember that video? And she had all the rhinestones on her face and she just looked like just dewy and stunning and amazing,” Lambert said. “I’m really looking forward to [seeing their fashion] too.” While MTV News’ “Idol” expert Jim Cantiello is set to host the live stream “Judging the Judges: An ‘Idol’ Without Simon” right after “Idol” airs, at 10 p.m. ET Wednesday (January 19) on MTV.com, Lambert shied away from comparing the two music pros’ judging style. He maintained that the duo aren’t likely to duke it out for top-judge honors. The season-eight runner-up said Lopez and Tyler are approaching the competition from different vantage points, and pitting their judging styles against each other is probably a futile “Idol” fan exercise. “They’re birds of a different feather, but they’re gonna flock together,” he said. Even though Lambert has more “Idol” experience than the newbie judges, he didn’t have any advice to offer Lopez or Tyler as they take their seats on live television for the first time. In fact, he insisted he’d welcome pointers from the superstar critics anytime. “I want advice from them,” Lambert smiled. “I will not give Steven Tyler or J. Lo any advice. The actor and his girlfriend, Jade Duell, welcomed a son on Friday in Hawaii, according to UsMagazine.com . “Everyone is doing well,” a rep for the “Marley and Me” actor told People. The new arrival comes just days after news broke that he and lady were expecting their first child together. Although the “How Do You Know” star has stayed mum about the pregnancy over the past few months, but an insider told Us that Wilson was looking forward to fatherhood and getting educated about becoming a dad. “[Wilson] has been doing research and learning as much as he can. He’s super into it and asks a lot of questions to make sure he knows what’s going on every step of the way,” the source said. After “Fockers,” Wilson’s next film to hit theaters is the comedy “Hall Pass,” which co-stars “Saturday Night Live” funnyman Jason Sudeikis and is slated to appear on screens on February 25. He also reprises his voice-acting role as Lightning McQueen in “Cars 2,” which will arrive in theaters on June 24. Wilson will also lend his voice-acting skills to the upcoming animated flick “Turkeys” alongside his brother, Luke. Wilson is also set to team up with “Fockers” co-star Ben Stiller for “Zoolander 2,” a sequel to their 2001 fashion-world spoof. Wilson outlined the plight of his and Stiller’s aging catwalk characters to MTV News during a sit-down in December. “We start off with them in a pretty bad place,” he said. “They’re about to ring 40’s bell. Alicia Silverstone Expecting First Child

‘Clueless’ actress confirms pregnancy with husband Christopher Jarecki. By Mawuse Ziegbe Alicia Silverstone Photo: Charles Gallay/ Getty Images Alicia Silverstone has, like, so totally grown up. The actress, who shot to fame as the ditzy, fashion-forward 16-year-old rich kid in the hit 1995 movie “Clueless,” is pregnant. The star’s rep confirmed to People that Silverstone and her husband of five years, musician Christopher Jarecki, are expecting their first child together. The star has also been spotted tooling around Los Angeles in casual gear, sporting her growing baby bump. Silverstone, who has stayed busy since her “Cher” days appearing in the Broadway play “Time Stands Still” and writing the cookbook “The Kind Diet,” said last year that she has been eagerly anticipating motherhood. “I’ve been wanting to have a baby since I was 2 years old,” she told People. “I’m destined to be a mother.” Silverstone also said she loved portraying a pregnant woman onstage in “Still”: “Wearing a pregnancy suit was so much fun,” she said. “I loved the feeling of pretending to be pregnant and having little arms and legs and this big belly.” In addition to expanding her family, Silverstone has some professional projects on the horizon and will reunite with “Clueless” writer-director Amy Heckerling for the upcoming flick “Vamps.” Silverstone will star opposite Sigourney Weaver and Krysten Ritter as a young vampire with a taste for blood and New York nightlife. Silverstone also will appear in the upcoming flick “Butter,” alongside Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde and Ty Burrell from ABC’s “Modern Family.” The film tells the story of a young orphan (Yara Shahidi) who displays a talent for crafting butter sculptures — a development that threatens to derail the dreams of Garner’s character, who is set on winning a butter-carving competition in a small Midwestern town. On Friday (January 14), a remix of Ke$ha’s Cannibal track “Sleazy” hit the Web, outfitted with some brand-new bars from the elusive Outkast MC. The southern spitter uses the revamp to muse about a young kid dealing with a deadbeat dad over the song’s bouncy thump. “We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn’t forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he’ll remember/ If not, he’s human, I’m human, you human, we’ll forgive him,” he spits. After sounding off about daddy issues, Stacks then rhymes about his playful relationship with the glitter-friendly poptress. “I call her Keisha, she like it because it’s hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I’m good to her,” he says. The remix follows a slew of random guest appearances on records by everyone from DJ Unk to Rich Boy as fans await another full-length release from ‘Dre. Back in 2008, the Love Below lyricist broke down his affinity for jumping on the occasional remix to MTV News , explaining that cooking up another quality solo record is no easy task. “I’ve been doing remixes here and there, and let me tell you, thank God for remixes. I wanna tell everybody who’s been checking out the remixes and things like the John Legend song [‘Green Light’]: In this day and age, those are the things that have kind of been keeping me alive. Lil Wayne Surfaces On DJ Khaled’s ‘Welcome To My Hood’

By Mawuse Ziegbe Lil Wayne Photo: Getty Images Lil Wayne is getting back to one of the things he does best: tricking out collabos with his trademark lyricism. On Thursday (January 13), DJ Khaled’s latest star-studded posse cut and first Cash Money offering, “Welcome to My Hood” hit the Net , featuring bars from Weezy, fellow Florida rappers Rick Ross and Plies and rumored Young Money signee T-Pain . The track, crafted by the Renegades, Khaled and the Nasty Beatmakers, features the victorious, speaker-shattering, hometown-pumping energy typical of the DJ’s all-star collabos, with Pain belting lines like, “Everybody know everybody/ And if I got it, everybody got it,” over the steely, bass-heavy beat. Ross leads things off, balancing glossy images of Audemars Piguet-laced wrists and mortgage-payment-sized bar tabs with grimy street operations, wrapping up with, “The Ferrari just a front/ Got the Lambo in the back/ Told you we the best forever/ DJ Khaled handle that.” Plies follows with a souped-up, eardrum-busting flow, detailing the exploits of his city’s hardened thugs. “I know some n—as from my ‘hood that would’ve rocked Noriega/ I’m taking Noriega, n—a, the real Noriega,” the Fort Myers rapper spits about hometown hooligans capable of ripping apart the infamous Panamanian politician and drug kingpin — not the Queens rapper Noreaga. Wayne closes the track with lyrics that reference his return to the game — and Khaled-helmed collabos — after his 2010 prison stay . “Back from hell, cell 23/ Tell the warden kiss my ass, pockets are Mo’Nique,” Weezy rhymes, shrugging off the drama of the jail bid. He also briefly touches on the 2007 weapons arrest that landed him in the pen, spitting, “Sh– happens, and since I’m the sh–, I’m who it happened to.” The I Am Not a Human Being rapper finishes with lines about his single-minded focus on re-conquering the game, rhyming, “All that bullsh– is for the birds/ Throw some bread out/ Got it sewed up/ Check the thread count.” Khaled hinted to MTV News last year that the first single for the forthcoming We The Best Forever would get the Wayne treatment. “When I work with Wayne, I always get the most classic verses, like ‘We Taking Over,’ ” Khaled said. “And this verse with my new one, it’s … I’m not even gonna lie: It’s amazing. “It’s one of them anthems that I do,” he added. “The streets are gonna embrace it on another level. Aretha Franklin Says Halle Berry Is Her ‘Pick’ For Biopic

Queen of Soul tells Wendy Williams she wants Oscar winner to bring her life to the big screen. By Mawuse Ziegbe Halle Berry Photo: Theo Wargo/WireImage Aretha Franklin has been vocal about which leading lady she would like to portray her on the big screen, and it appears that the Queen of Soul got what she wanted. Last year, the legendary singer sent out a press release to The Associated Press stating she wanted Oscar-winning superstar Halle Berry to tackle the lead role in an upcoming biopic about the powerhouse songstress. During a recent phone interview on “The Wendy Williams Show,” Franklin said Berry is set to star in the project. “Halle Berry is my pick,” Franklin said to a swell of cheers from the daytime-TV audience. The soul veteran said Berry has been tapped to play an adult version of Franklin but added that the rest of the cast has not been firmed up. “There’s a young Aretha that has yet to be named.” A rep for Berry did not respond to MTV News’ request for comment at press time. Franklin — who is recovering from an undisclosed illness reported to be cancer — also said the film has been in the works for years but hinted that a flick could be in production soon now that all the necessary elements are coming together. “For the last four years, we’ve been talking about [the film], and I have had a number of offers. Unfortunately, they were not good offers,” she explained. “Now, we have something on the table. They have all of the financing on one project and the second project, and he’s in the process of writing things for me to approve on the tele-film.” In September, Franklin said that, in addition to Berry, she wanted Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington and Oscar nominee Terrence Howard to appear in the film. The “Respect” diva had apparently already been in touch with the stars, saying that the trio were “enthusiastic about the project and have agreed to take on these roles, subject to further negotiation.” The script will be based on her 1999 autobiography “Aretha: From These Roots.” How do you think Halle Berry would do in an Aretha Franklin biopic?
