It’s no secret that black women who date outside of their race are often wrongfully targeted for a number of negative reasons, but one woman shocked a few readers when sharing her experience of constantly being mistaken for a prostitute while out in public with her white husband. via Black Like Moi Jamilah Lemieux at Ebony magazine recently asked women to “RT if you are a Black woman (trans or cis) and have been assumed to be a sεx worker by a White man.” The reaction was jaw-dropping, with women tweeting their experience of having been mistaken for a sεx worker in a variety of different settings. This prompted Maureen Evans Arthurs to share her story of being mistaken for a prostιtute while out with her white husband. “The first time I was mistaken for a sεx worker I was on my husband’s arm at a corporate event in California four years ago. A man approached me, asking if he could buy me a drink. I declined, and he proceeded to whisper to me, ‘How much?’” writes Arthurs. Arthurs, stunned, says she asked “How much for what”, then took one look at the scoundrel and knew exactly what he was asking. She quickly flashed a wedding ring and walked away, but left feeling humiliated. To make matters worse, Arthurs says the assumption that she’s a prostιtute haven’t stopped, even though she and her husband have been together over ten years. “Just last month, at another event, several male acquaintances propositioned me. Comments ranged anywhere from, ‘You’re on the wrong arm, sweetie, I wish I could go home with you…’ to the incredibly forward, ‘We have this whole place to ourselves, it’ll be a shame if we don’t maximize our time here and slip away?’ all said within 10 to 15 feet of my husband.” Crazy, right? Have any of you had similar experiences, Bossip fam? Let’s discuss. Shutterstock
Is drink-throwing and weave-snatching the new “shucking & jiving?” We’ve told you before how great the racial satire film Dear White People is and urged you to check it out in theaters. Hopefully you’ve had a chance. Now the film’s director, Justin Simien has written a companion book for the movie, also aptly named “Dear White People,” and much like the movie, it’s full of provocative and hilarious essays and clever charts and graphs all sprinkled with a healthy dose of truth. Below, check out a chapter-exerpt from the book that takes on Reality TV and its relationship to blackface minstrel shows of the past. Via Vulture : Once upon a time, white America’s primary introduction to black people came in the form of the Minstrel Show. Stock characters, often played by white people, such as the Mammy, Zip Coon, and, of course, Jim Crow popularized through entertainment the idea that black people were lazy, ignorant, overly emotional, unsophisticated, and intellectually bereft. These ideas about black people are still being popularized today in entertainment thanks to white television executives (and, to be fair, some black ones too). Though the catchphrases have gone from “Who dat?” to “Who gon’ check me, boo?,” reality TV has kept the stereotypes tap-dancing along and made them more popular than ever! What’s particularly disturbing about this, implications of our collapsing educational system notwithstanding, is that stereotypes from the slack-jawed, no-good black male to the sexually promiscuous, foul-mouthed black woman are so ubiquitous, groups of people in the country assume that this is how all black people really behave. Now the confused, shuffling Mammies and flamboyant, vapid Zip Coons of yesteryear are actually real people, competing for Donald Trump’s affection and/or that of each other’s man. I use the term “real people” loosely. The truth is that people in reality shows are cast, crafted, and coached by a staff of executives and writers to attract the biggest audience possible. They are filmed and then re-filmed, with bits of dialogue added to attain maximum absurdity. They are then edited and beamed to millions, validating the worst stereotypes of black folks for people whose contact with actual black people is limited. And boy, are they fun! The worst part about this whole thing? I watch it. And so do my black friends! The Real Housewives of Atlanta! I was in the front row for Kandi’s wedding! I watched every spin-off they made for Flavor of Love’s “New York,” Tiffany Pollard. I Love New York? Me too! New York Goes to Work — sign me up for overtime! I am part of the problem. This chapter is my penance! Of course I feel bad about it, but deep down I know it’s all fake. Like professional wrestling. There are a lot of people out there, though, who don’t know it’s not real. Somehow bad improv and staged fighting shot with minimal production value got called “reality” before becoming an American phenomenon. Of course, Jersey Italians, Shahs from Sunset, and back-alley hillbillies have it bad in reality media as well, but they’re only a slice of the images we see of not-so-dark people… One of the fun things, I assume, about being white is that there are so many varying examples of behavior attributed to white people in the media. It must be a bit easier to walk through life without dodging as many presumptions. Sure, there are white people who appear in their share of trashy television, but that accounts for just a percentage of the overall, mostly positive, images of white folks in the media. For black folks the variety of images adds up to a pretty short stack. Partly because television executives are checking Facebook super busy and are afraid of losing their jobs under a lot of pressure. While there may be a desire to expand the representation of the African diaspora, deep in the heart of this hypothetical TV exec, it’s a lot easier just to go with another show about a semi-famous rapper who has a bevy of loud and crazy girlfriends. Or a house filled with alcoholics, the alcohol that’s slowly killing them, and a couple of black women who are either “not there to make friends” or who will “cut a bitch.” Hmmm….what do you think? Are we okay with the blatant stereotypes and negative perception of Black life perpetuated in reality TV simply because it’s not a bunch of white actors in blackface? Or is entertainment just entertainment and we shouldn’t worry too much about the “handful of people” who believe everything they see on television?
Bregje Heinen just did Maxim Magazine, which really doesn’t mean anything at all, because Maxim is the fucking worst… It is a massive pile of irrelevant shit that didn’t manage to convert to the web very well, and that were forced to use real low level talent in their shoots up until this year when they tried the rebrand because they were struggling hard.. I was in Maxim in 2007. I know first hand. I also get lawyers letters everytime I mention Maxim, because they are team players who really get it like that. Fuck those asshoels…even though I’d rather fuck this asshole…the one hiding in Bregje Heinen’s bathing suit in her instagram pic…
Oscar’s day of reckoning is finally here… Oscar Pistorius Sentenced Bladerunner Oscar Pistorius is going to prison for five years for the death of his girlfriend Reva Steenkamp. Despite being found not guilty of premeditated murder , the Olympian was found guilty of culpable homicide. BBC News reports: South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has been given five years in jail for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. In court in Pretoria, Judge Thokozile Masipa also gave Pistorius a three-year suspended sentence for a firearms charge. Pistorius has now been taken to the cells. Prosecutors had called for a minimum 10-year term, and the defence argued for community service and house arrest. Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide but cleared of murder. Defence lawyer Barry Roux said his client was expected to serve 10 months in prison, with the rest under house arrest. The BBC’s Andrew Harding, in court, says the parents of Reeva Steenkamp, Barry and June, tell him they are happy with the sentence and relieved the case is over. Hmmmm…five years for culpable homicide? Is that fair or foul????
This isn’t gonna go over well… NFL May Be Forced To Reinstate Ray Rice In November Via CBSSports Former Ravens running back Ray Rice remains suspended indefinitely following the publication of the video of him striking his now-wife, Janay, in a casino elevator, but he could be reinstated within the next four weeks, sources said. An appeal hearing date has been set, with a final decision expected to come in an expeditious manner thereafter, and all of that could be resolved by mid-November, which would conceivably allow Rice to sign with another team this season. Perhaps, even if reinstated, teams will find him too controversial to sign, but there is every expectation his playing status will be resolved before the NFL’s investigation into its handling of his case, being conducted by former FBI chief Robert Mueller, is completed. Former U.S. District Court Judge Barbara S. Jones is handling the appeal as a neutral, third-party arbitrator, and all sides in the case have agreed to a date to conduct the hearing in the near future. That date could change somewhat based on what Jones rules this week on some requests the NFLPA made to have certain materials available to them in discovery, but sources said Rice’s legal team has made it explicitly clear it has no desire to wait until the NFL and the NFLPA’s investigations are concluded to resolve the matter of this suspension appeal. Rice has maintained he did not lie in his testimony to Commissioner Roger Goodell, and his legal team will make the case that even under the NFL’s new domestic violence policy, and as a first-time offender, Rice should be suspended a maximum of six games, which has already passed. Furthermore, they will make the argument that the video tape of Rice’s actions were available to the team and the league throughout the process of determining his discipline, and thus nothing changed whatsoever with the case from the time Rice was suspended two games, until eventually being suspended indefinitely, save for TMZ obtaining and posting the video. Numerous legal experts I’ve spoken to believe Rice has an exceedingly strong case, and, considering it could be Week 10 or so before this hearing is resolved, it’s hard for them to conceive that Rice isn’t reinstated by Jones as part of her decision. If he is, would a team like the Colts, coached by former Ravens assistant Chuck Pagano who thinks highly of Rice, or New England, where Bill Belichick has very strong ties to Rice’s college coach, Greg Schiano, take a chance on Rice if they need a running back down the stretch? We wouldn’t be surprised if the NFL is literally BEGGING Ray to take the rest of the year off to keep the heat off of their shady azzes. Image via AP

Maxim doesn’t let me post their content because they are cocksucking lawyers who don’t like that I laugh at how they’ve failed in adapting to the internet – as their magazine died off and the caliber of their women pretty much went to shit…they threaten to sue me always… But I guess with all multi million dollar brands, they have turned things around, have repackaged their garbage and have lured better quality girls….at least that is what I am going to assume after watching this softcore pornography behind the scenes video of Anastasia Ashley…that makes me want to take on surfing, as long as surfing involves masturbating on surfer girl ass while they do silly erotic poses by the pool without cracking a smile or laughing at herself…which takes serious fucking talent in and of itself… ?Either way, she’s a babe.
I don’t know if Brittany Mason is the same Brittany Mason as the one with a Wikipedia page, who was an actress and a model, born in 1986 Indiana, who was in Maxim and Esquire and most importantly in episode 200 of Two and a Half Men playing Jason Alexander’s Secretary, a credit that makes me think maybe she wrote this wikipedia page herself, because I assume no wikipedia contributor has ever heard of her, or would think an extra gig was really anything notable…but she is a model, she did place 7th in Miss USA Live on NBC, something that would be great way to start up a sex tape career, but instead she’s gone down the activist road, but more importantly the titty for fashion shoot road that leads to great places if done properly, all while giving off the same output as being in a softcore porn, but for ego, it’s far more socially acceptable… Either way, tits, good pics, good times, I’m into it…and willing to join any cause this babe is involved in, mouth first…
But didn’t the two white Americans who did have Ebola get to come back ???? Man In Liberia Who Didn’t Have Ebola Denied Entry Back Into US Before Dying Via The Root reports: Two Americans with Ebola have been flown in from Liberia over the past week and treated with a “secret serum” in the hopes of helping them successfully combat the deadly virus. However, Ebola has already taken its first American victim. To be fair, 24-year-old Nathaniel Dennis did not have Ebola, but the fear inflamed by the rapidly spreading disease that has already killed more than 800 people in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea certainly contributed to his death, his older sister, Natasha Dennis, told The Root. “The first case of Ebola was in February, March. Why wasn’t it more contained then? What happened to the education of the people to make it get to this point right now? My brother, he’s still a victim of Ebola, but he’s a victim of the hysteria it caused,” says Dennis, 27, who lives in California. It all started following a family vacation to Liberia, where the siblings’ mother, Precious Dennis, lives as an educator. Nathaniel decided to stay in Liberia once the trip was over when the music lover found a job at a local radio station. After about a month, on July 24, his mother awoke to find her youngest son comatose on his bedroom floor, his body stiff and his eyes rolled back, Natasha Dennis said. His room was in disarray. “That’s when the Ebola outbreak started getting really big; of course, any time anyone’s sick they have to confirm that it’s not Ebola, so they put him in quarantine right away and he was there for three days just being treated for Ebola. All his tests came back negative,” Dennis explains. “So at this point we’re calling the embassy, we’re trying to get him out, everyone’s telling me that they’re not flying into Liberia at this time, no one can help us, there’s nothing they can do, things like that.” When Nathaniel Dennis was released from quarantine, the family attempted to get him evacuated to Ghana to receive the treatment he needed—which was just a respirator and a dialysis machine. However, Ghana wouldn’t let him in, given the Ebola scare and having closed its borders to Liberia. “My poor brother,” Dennis says. “He lasted a week, and at the end, he just needed a ventilator to keep him breathing, to help him, and they didn’t have that.” Nathaniel Dennis died on July 30, with a doctor telling the family that the cause was kidney failure. The family’s frustration did not end there, however. “What we still don’t understand is that the next day after my brother passed, they sent a plane to go get these doctors that do have Ebola, and I think that’s the most frustrating part for us. We can’t understand,” the grieving big sister tells The Root. So, who decides who gets treatment and who gets to die when this Ebola outbreak hits maximum hysteria?? This young man had to stay in Liberia without being treated adequately yet two white Americans who did have the disease got to come back to the US nad treated with a ‘secret serum.’ Does that sound fair to you?? With every national holiday comes some low level person who plays up that holiday as hard as they can to get noticed. It’s an easy way to get on the sites…and this year, the prize low level looking for attention – is Joanna Krupa. She is the same Joanna Krupa, who a decade ago, played up being born in Poland, and escaping Poland, back in the 70s, when Poland was evil and communist, even though she had no memory of being in Poland, it was just a good marketing hook for her Maxim Magazine shoots, which were really all she ever did… But now, she’s celebrating being American, and living the American Dream, as a low level slut who was on TV before getting cancelled…who can now be a low level slut on instagram…because she has her fan base established.. I am victim of finding her hot in the 2000s when she was doing the men’s magazines, and feel like I helped her, or promoted her along with all the other sites…making her matter…when really she should just be a stripper somewhere…which I guess is what she’s doing.
