TMZ reports that a Canadian border officer has been fired after her superiors learned that she’d accepted $10,000 in bribes in exchange for admitting certain members of Bieber’s entourage into the country. Canada has a strict policy against allowing individuals with certain types of criminal records to cross its borders. Not surprisingly, several members of the Biebs entourage fit the profile, but were allowed to accompany him to a Toronto engagement after gifting the officer on duty with thousands in cash and backstage passes. The question remains of whether or not the Canadian border patrol will handle the matter internally or file criminal charges, but if they go with the latter option, Bieber could be in deep trouble. Bribing a customs agent is a serious offense, and Bieber is already on probation for a slew of offenses including charges of drunk drag racing and egging his neighbor’s house . We already know that Britney Spears and David Lucado want to start a family , and we’re sure they’ve been doing plenty of practicing in the baby-making department. So what’s holding them back? Well, apparently David is an old-fashioned type who doesn’t want to have kids until he gets married, And he doesn’t want to get married until his wife ends her Vegas residency and court-ordered conservatorship. Britney was placed under a conservatorship following her highly-publicized meltdown six years ago. The conservatorship means Brit would need the permission of her father – and possibly even her medical team – in order to marry Lucado. SMH… Mother Commits Suicide After Mysterious Death Of Toddler This is a truly sad story with a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions. Via DailyMail : A young mother has committed suicide by walking in front of a semi-trailer the same day her 14-month-old son mysteriously died at their home, authorities said. Police in Canton, Ohio, discovered little Omoyele Gonzalez dead in a bed at the property in the 1600 block of 10th Street just after 7.30 p.m. Thursday. He had no obvious injuries and a subsequent autopsy has proved inconclusive. Officers were called to the home because the child’s mother, Kayelisa Martin, 20, was threatening suicide, according to a Canton police press release. Around the same time, a family member went to the nearby Canton Fire Station No. 7 to report that the toddler was dead. When law enforcement arrived, however, Martin wasn’t there. They tried to locate her, but soon received word that the devastated mother had died in a traffic incident in nearby Summit County. According to the press release, Martin ‘committed suicide by walking in front of a moving vehicle on I-77 at Milepost 115,’ near Akron-Canton Airport. A Summit County sheriff’s office release states that she was struck when she stepped in front of a semi-trailer. The northbound lanes were closed for about four hours after the tragic incident and traffic was detoured around the scene. Stark County Coroner’s office conducted an autopsy on the toddler Saturday and results released Monday offered little insight into how the adorable toddler died. ‘Preliminary autopsy findings showed that the child did not die of any trauma,’ coroner P.S. Murthy said in a statement. The office is awaiting toxicology results but confirmed X-rays showed there had been no recent or past abuse, nor did Omoyele die from injuries consistent with a fall or from an infection. The child’s father does not live at the home. Police said they have interviewed him and they don’t believe he was involved. Gary Guenther, investigator for the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, said Friday that Martin’s autopsy showed she died of ‘blunt force trauma to the head and torso.’ He said she was pronounced dead at the scene. According to ESPNW reports: The official cause of Williams’ withdrawal from her second-round doubles match with partner and sister Venus on Tuesday was termed a “viral illness,” but that has been a source of rampant speculation. “I find it distressing,” said Martina Navratilova, a nine-time Wimbledon singles champion (with 20 titles here, including doubles and mixed doubles) and Tennis Channel analyst. “I think virus, whatever they’re saying it was, I don’t think that was it. I think it’s clear that’s not the case. I don’t know what it is, but I hope Serena will be OK. And most of all, I don’t know how she ended up walking onto the court.” Attempts to reach Williams’ agent, Jill Smoller, were unsuccessful. The Williams sisters defaulted their match against Kristina Barrois and Stefanie Voegele after four double faults by Serena, who, unsteady on her feet, was unable to bounce, toss or serve the ball. After a few words with the umpire, who came off his chair to talk, she played one more point and then retired. She took her sister’s hand, sat down and was examined by medical personnel. A new bill that went into effect on Tuesday allows licensed gun-toters to bring their weaponry basically everywhere they go. Via TheDailyBeast : “Doing shots” in Georgia bars may have a whole new meaning when HB60 goes into effect Tuesday. The Safe Carry Protection Act, also known as the “guns everywhere bill,” broadly expands the places where Georgians can carry firearms to include municipal buildings, public libraries, schools, churches, unsecured areas of airports, and bars. While churches and schools have to opt in to the law for the expanded carry provisions to apply to them, bar owners must opt out of the legislation by posting a “no-guns” sign or removing heat-packing patrons themselves. “The onus is now on the bar owner,” said Alisa Cleek, a partner with Elarbee Thompson law firm in Atlanta who co-chairs the firm’s restaurant advisory group. “If you don’t want weapons on your premises you have to take steps to make sure customers know that. You don’t get to sit back this time.” Among the handful of bars that knew the bill had passed and would go live Tuesday, all brought up the obvious problems of having guns in the same place where people would be drinking, in some cases heavily, late into the night. “The gun prohibitionists are real good at blowing everything out of proportion,” Henry said, pointing to activists’ dire predictions several years ago when Georgia legalized guns in restaurants. “They said servers would get shot if a steak was too rare or there would be a gun draw over the last chicken wing. It just hasn’t happened and it’s not going to happen this time.” But Piyali Cole, the head of the Georgia chapter of Moms Demand Action, which opposed the bill, said the new language allowing guns in bars will make Georgians less safe and pointed to a recent string of fights leading to shootouts in Georgia parking lots as an example. We’re not sure why the average person would feel the need to tote their gun to the bar in the first place…and we’re sure you’ve seen firsthand how normal discussions escalate to all-out brawls when liquor is involved. This is so sad … Dallas Man Murders High School Basketball Star Over Video Game Via The Grio reports: Jonathan Tramaine Turner, 19, was indicted Monday by a Dallas County grand jury in connection with the fatal beating of 18-year-old high school basketball star Troy Causey. The fight between the teens started over a video game, reports NBC Dallas-Fort Worth. “There’s a pain that feels like someone is drilling a hole in your stomach,” Causey’s mother Tammy Simpson told NBC after she found out Turner would only face manslaughter in lieu of a murder charge. “When they said that I just sank.” Turner and Causey lived together at the time of the altercation. According to authorities, Turner claims to have hit Causey, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head. Police determined that account was not consistent with the results from the Dallas County Medical Examiner, Dr. Ventura, M.D., who stated, “this kind of skull fracture could not have been caused by the complainant striking the ground.” Causey’s mother believes there are more people, those who were present during the fight, who are also responsible for her son’s death.
