The star’s rep confirmed that the Hollywood A-lister spent about five days in an unidentified facility to deal with the illness. “After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder,” her rep said in a statement to People.com . “She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.” Zeta-Jones and her husband, Michael Douglas , certainly have had a stressful year. Douglas underwent treatment for throat cancer last year, and in January, he appeared on the “Today” show to discuss his medical scare and tell fans that he is now cancer free. “There’s no question it’s been a stressful year,” a friend of Zeta-Jones said. “Catherine has had to deal with Michael’s illness and that’s been hard. Barry faces five charges in total including four charges of perjury and one charge of obstruction of justice. Bonds’ ex-beau Kimberly Bell testified against him in court yesterday. It is reported that this was in her testimony: “The former mistress of embattled home run champion Barry Bonds gave an explicit testimony today, stating that the ball player’s body changed shape and his mood shifted during their relationship – all evidence that prosecutors are saying is a result of steroid abuse. An often tearful Kimberly Bell told the U.S. District Court in San Francisco that Bonds threatened ‘to cut my head off and leave me in a ditch,’ and that during their nine-year relationship he suffered from impotence, hair loss and acne, which are all known side effects of steroid use. One of the brightest stars in the history of the American movie business, Taylor starred in a string of hit movies in the 1950s and 60s, including “Giant,” “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “Cleopatra,” while becoming an international sex symbol and object of tabloid fascination for her string of love affairs with leading men. In addition to being a fashion icon, perfume mogul and movie legend, later in life Taylor also became one of the leading advocates for victims of AIDS, raising millions for research and treatment of the disease in the wake of the 1985 death of her good friend the actor Rock Hudson, who died from the illness.
