I wanted to let you know to actually never say never, your day…

I wanted to let you know to actually never say never, your day will come, the one you were waiting for to meet Justin. Ever since I started obsessing over Justin in 2008, I had that dream to meet him. I never thought the day would actually come. My first concert was August 29, 2010, when he preformed at Madison Square Garden, where he shot his Never Say Never. It was actually the best night ever. After that concert finished I wondered if I would ever be lucky enough to see him perform again. Luckily over this summer of 2012, I saw him perform twice in a span of 5 days. On June 15th I went to the Today Show with my friend, and we saw Justin perform and were front row. We could make eye contact and scream his name, when he could actually see and hear us. At the Today Show performance my hand touched his, and I thought it was the most amazing thing ever. I was so happy to be that close, and see his perfection right before my eyes. Five days later on June 20th, me and my sister got into Bieber’s rehearsal for the David Lettermen show that he was performing on that weekend . Me and my sister went into the theater to find ourselves sitting in 8th row, with only staff, and 4 other random people. After waiting for some time, a familiar figure walked on stage . The figure walked into the light on stage and there standing 8 rows away from me was Bieber. Looking hotter then on the Today Show. Me and my sister freaked out, but in silence because staff told us Bieber didn’t like it when people came and watched his rehearsals. We sat there for about another half hour, watching Justin sing and dance to ‘Boyfriend’ about 5 times, until our small performance ended. Still in shock of how amazing Justin sang we walked out the backstage door and talked with his dancing crew. His dancing crew was really nice, and very cool. After talking with them for about 10 minutes, Justin walked out the backstage door. He took pictures with the 4 other people then finally walked over to me and my sister. Amazed of how close I was standing face to face with Justin, he motioned for me to come closer so we can take the picture because he was in a rush. Noticing how this would probably be the first and last time for awhile I asked, “Can I kiss you on the cheek?”, he said “Yeah, sure.” So there I went, my lips touching his soft cheek. Legit the best moment of my life. I wish it lasted more than 2 minutes, but whatever I finally got my moment with Justin. No matter how long it takes Never Say Never. You’re chance will come. I waited a long time for mine and it was well worth it. DON’T STOP BELIEBING See more here: I wanted to let you know to actually never say never, your day…

The Princess Bride Turns 25 With Star-Powered NY Film Festival Event

Tuesday night, the New York Film Festival hosted something that is likely a rarified event in the usually hallowed theater venues at Lincoln Center – a boisterous and rowdy crowd. But the event probably landed itself to the culture shift. The occasion was the 25th anniversary of The Princess Bride and a good chunk of the living cast showed up, including Robin Wright , Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn and Billy Crystal in addition to director Rob Reiner as well as author William Goldman. Random shouts of “meathead” could be heard from the audience – all loving of course – when Reiner was introduced on stage as first coming to prominence as Michael Stivic in 1970s television show All in the Family . The Princess Bride was also likened to The Wizard of Oz (1939) – something Reiner fully embraced. Reiner recalled that when Princess Bride first went into release, a trailer had not been made a week before its roll out, nor had a one-sheet been created to describe the film. “Like ‘The Wizard of Oz’ at the time, the studios weren’t sure how to market this kind of a film,” said Reiner. “And similar to [that movie] it didn’t do [very well] when it first came out.” Released in September, 1987, the film had a strong showing in nine theaters in its initial run, but its overall theatrical run (nearly $31 million) apparently disappointed, but it has lived on as a cult favorite and the audience at Lincoln Center talked back to the screen in something akin to watching The Little Shop of Horrors (which incidentally also played at NYFF last weekend). Reiner’s father met William Goldman in 1968 while working on a book about Broadway that year. Reiner’s father had coincidentally just created a play running in New York. While still in his 20s, his dad gave him the novel The Princess Bride to read and, as might be expected, fell in love with it. “I was monster fan of everything [Goldman] had written,” he said. “My dad gave me the book and I couldn’t believe how incredible this book was. What a high degree of difficulty to do an adventure, romance, satire and make it all work. I thought it was the most incredible thing I’d read in my whole life.” Years later, after getting his lauded This is Spinal Tap and Stand by Me under his belt, Reiner thought about The Princess Bride . “So, many years go by and I had made some movies and I thought naively, ‘well they make movies out of books and my favorite book is The Princess Bride .’ So as a totally naive person, I thought I’ll see if someone has tried to do this. I found out the Truffaut had tried.” Eventually, he decided to go for it and ask the two-time Oscar winning writer if he could take on The Princess Bride . “I went to meet with him at his place in [New York] and he opened the door and said, ‘ The Princess Bride is my favorite thing I’ve ever written in my life – I want it on my tombstone. What are you going to do with it?'” Goldman did give his blessing that night. Newcomer at the time Robin Wright was cast the title character (aka Buttercup) opposite Cary Elwes, the man of her dreams (who she does some of that kissing with). The fairy tale aspect of the story came as a bit of a surprise for Wright who had not read the book by the time she departed for the set in England, but was taken aback by the fantasy element that rides through the story. When I read the script, I noticed all the stage direction which had things like lightning, sand, thunder, giant rodents and fire. I thought, ‘Oh we’re just going to do the dialog, I didn’t believe all that other stuff,” Wright said at Lincoln Center. “I went to England and had never read the book, thinking all that stage direction B.S. was just that. And then I had to put on my accent and there were attacking eels and all this stuff. It was just insane.”

Kate Middleton Bottomless Photos: More to Come?

The release of Kate Middleton nude photos in Scandinavia was the latest chapter of the recent royal scandal, but will it be the last we hear of the bottomless and topless pics? For celebrity gossip publications, the controversial pictures are the gift that keeps on giving. For the royal family, it’s starting to look like a nightmare that will never end. A blogger for the The Telegraph (UK) reports, “Newspaper pictures editors tell me there are as many as 270 pictures being hawked around.” So far, we’ve seen 24. The photos “feature both the Duchess and Prince William naked” and the palace fears that “the pictures are stills from a video.” In which case … look out. A video could be even more cringe-worthy for obvious reasons (although we doubt it’s a sex tape), but it’s the inclusion of William himself that could pour gasoline on this fire. Already fiercely protective of Kate Middleton because of his mother Princess Diana’s endless battles with paparazzi, she’s surely pretty broken up about this as is. When and if he’s a victim of it as well? The gloves, as well as Kate’s bikini, could really be coming off then. Beware, any European tabloids who go there! What’s your take on the Kate Middleton topless scandal? Do you feel really bad for her? Or are you over it? Or is Morrissey right that the royal family is utterly useless anyway? Discuss in the comments below!

The Today Show to Ann Curry: HELP!

Ann Curry to the rescue? Despite all that’s gone down between the anchor and The Today Show , that’s what NBC is hoping. Weeks after Curry was unceremoniously fired , sources tell Radar Online that the program will utilize her on-air more often than originally planned. ” Ann Curry reported for Today on Monday morning from the Syrian border, and she will be featured on a much more routine basis going forward,” a series insider tells the site. “Ann is truly doing what she loves the most now, reporting from war-torn countries and bringing viewers stories of people that are affected by the destruction in the region.” With ratings for Today remaining low and the series continually losing out to Good Morning America , executives are now banking on the woman they fired to save the long-running program. A few days ago, the Today producer took the blame for Curry’s ousting, absolving Matt Lauer from responsibility.

Gary Johnson: Will Libertarian Influence 2012 Presidential Election?

When the 2012 presidential debates kick off Wednesday, Gary Johnson will not be there. The often overlooked libertarian may still have an impact on the election, however. According to a new poll by Reason , President Barack Obama leads challenger Mitt Romney, but the Libertarian Party’s Johnson garners a statistically significant 6 percent. Johnson pulls votes from both major-party candidates, the survey found. A former two-term governor of New Mexico and before that a self-made construction businessman, Johnson has always been known for his low-tax views. He first sought the presidency via the Republican nomination last year, but after being excluded from those debates, launched his third-party run in 2012. While facing overwhelming odds against Democratic incumbent Obama and Republican nominee Romney, Johnson could still be a factor in next month’s election. Siphoning enough votes from one candidate could benefit the other in a number of closely-contested states, and many of his views are in line with the mainstream . Gary Johnson a Factor in 2012? About 61 percent of poll respondents said that wealth disparities are an acceptable part of the American economic system and not something the government can fix. “One of the reasons they may believe that,” explains Reason’s Emily Ekins, “is that 59 percent think that individuals have an equal opportunity to succeed in this country.” Also, 45 percent of Americans want the federal government to pass fewer laws, compared with around one-third who think it should be more active. “However,” she notes, “there is one law that voters overwhelmingly would like to see passed – and that’s a law to audit the Federal Reserve.” Somewhere, Ron Paul is smiling. And/or seething that he won’t be on that stage either.

FANTASTIC FEST: Go Back In Time (Via The Internet) And Watch Looper’s Rian Johnson Sing Weird Al’s ‘Yoda’

The filmmaker-critic relationship has always been complex — as demonstrated last weekend with hearty debate and even more heartfelt punches in the epic Joe Swanberg – Devin Faraci throwdown, henceforth known as the Mumble in the Jungle — but Sunday night, Looper director Rian Johnson and journalist Aaron Hillis united in sweet synergy to drop a rousing rendition of Weird Al’s Kinks-meets- Star Wars classic “Yoda.” I wish I had a futuristic time machine to take us all back to relive the moment with our younger selves, but this YouTube video capturing the entire number should suffice. There’s a long history of karaoke at film festivals, but rarely does festival karaoke reach the heights of the legendary magical musical moments at Fantastic Fest. This year celebrity karaoke began with Mexican recording artist and actress Laura Caro ( who won Fantastic Fest’s award for Best Actress for Here Comes the Devil ), who blew the roof off the Alamo Drafthouse’s Highball singing her signature cover of “I Will Always Love You” — the song that got her on Mexico’s American Idol -like La Academia . Sunday night the entire visiting Looper crew got in on the action as Noah Segan (AKA Looper ‘s Kid Blue) dueted with film journalista Karina Longworth and Tracie Thoms , who sang on freaking Broadway , crooned The Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly.” And of course, yours truly got up there one or two times to sing a little something. When in Austin… Reward Johnson’s tremendous karaoke effort by checking out Looper , in theaters this Friday. [Video via Todd Gilchrist ; Photo credit Jack Plunkett] Read more from Fantastic Fest!
