DJ Khaled Says An Eminem Collabo Would ‘Rip The Streets Apart’

‘Let’s make history,’ the Miami super-DJ reaches out to Slim Shady for We the Best Forever. ‘I got the beat right now.’ By Shaheem Reid DJ Khaled Photo: Ben Rose/ Getty Images DJ Khaled is in the production stage of his upcoming LP, We the Best Forever. He has beats cooking every night in the We the Best studio in Miami. But while most of the people he wants on this project already have solid relationships with the mogul DJ, there is one MC he’s never met — nor done a song with — and he needs him to be a part of the movement. “The list goes on and on,” Khaled said after rattling off some of the names of his past collaborators, including Kanye West, Jay-Z, the Birdman, Lil Wayne, T.I. and Akon. “This album I’m working with them boys again. It’s gonna get bigger and bigger. The collaboration I want to make happen and the people want to make happen is a DJ Khaled/ Eminem collaboration. I know if I get with Eminem and put him on one of my anthems … ’cause I make these anthems. I got something so special in my drive that for Eminem on there.” He added that if Em doesn’t want to team up off the strength of Khaled’s track record alone, then he should do it for hip-hop. “We’re doing it for hip-hop. We doing this for hip-hop,” Khaled told MTV News emphatically. ‘I’m a big fan of his. I don’t have a way to contact him. I don’t know how I can sit down and play him some music; whatever I gotta do. Eminem, I got love. I wanna make this crazy record with you. Let’s make history. Let’s rip the streets apart. I got the idea already [that] I wanna do with Slim Shady. I got the beat right now, so crazy, the concept. It’s something the people are gonna love too. If I get Slim Shady on this joint, I’mma tear up the streets. “The album is called We The Best Forever. There’s only certain people who could be on this album,” he said. “It’s time, I think I deserve it. The streets deserve it. When [Eminem] meets me personally, he’s gonna see this energy. He’s gonna understand why these anthems come out like that. I’m gonna sit with him, and we gonna vibe. I know what he’s gonna do: He’s gonna go crazy!” Khaled recently signed a recording deal with his good friends Birdman and Slim, the CEOs of Cash Money Records. “I’m so excited about life, making music, excited to put my album out on Cash Money. I’ve always been excited to make music and make these hits. This album is coming out crazy already and I’m excited. All my albums, me personally, I feel they’re super-big and classic. Every year I have one big record that’s huge, anthemic.” Should Eminem jump on the Miami don’s next album? Tell us what you think in the comments! Related Artists DJ Khaled Eminem

Rick Ross, Slim Thug Battle On Twitter Over Song Lyrics

‘Just threw [Rick Ross’] cd out the roof of the coupe,’ Houston rapper tweeted. By Jayson Rodriguez Rick Ross Photo: Larry Marano/ Getty Images Who’s the boss? Tony Danza might have some say in the matter, but rappers Rick Ross and Slim Thug took to Twitter over the weekend to lash out at one anther after lyrics from the Miami rapper’s leaked song “King Boss” hit the Web. “She dated Slim Thug, but now she f—- with me,” Ross spits on the track’s second verse. “She finally made it to the biggest boss, luckily.” “WTF is that a diss,” Slim Thug tweeted to Ross. “Just threw [Rick Ross’] cd out the roof of the coupe,” the Houston rapper later wrote . “[H]aters get no play in my ride.” According to Slim Thug, he reached out to Ross to get some clarity regarding the song but was unable to connect with the Teflon Don star. Though the song appears to be dated, a rep for Ross had not responded to our inquiry by press time. Slim Thug also tweeted that Ross’ silence on the matter must speak for his intent, namely that the song was intended to be a fresh attack on Slim Thug. He continued to disparage Ross, eventually prompting one of the Miami rapper’s crew members, Torch, to chime in. “Not u2 [Slim Thug] aka Slim Sukka,” Torch wrote . “I promise this ain’t the attention u want…” Ross, for his part, weighed in on the matter, albeit briefly, with just one message posted on Twitter . “[R]eal n—as pick up phones,” he wrote. “A boss would kno better!!#trills—.” The pair have collaborated together in the past, but it remains unclear if there was previous friction between the two artists, who both use “Boss” nicknames. Chris Bosh Says Rick Ross’ Welcome To Miami Is ‘Cool’

‘They didn’t have any problem expressing their opinions of their want for us down there,’ Miami Heat’s Bosh says. By Shaheem Reid Chris Bosh Photo: MTV News Oh, you crazy Vinny Chase. You wait until you’re over 30 years old before you decide to start riding the white horse. And we’re not talking about the kind of stallion the Lone Ranger gallops in on either. Last night on HBO’s “Entourage,” the lead character had a wild party with loud music and a bunch of friends. And one of the guests in attendance was none other than Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat. The All-Star was playing it cool, chilling by the bar, saying what’s up to Turtle. “It’s funny, you watch the show, you see how it’s going. I don’t know how it’s going to be ‘Hey yo Chris. How is it going?’ but the setting is in Vince’s house, at a party,” Bosh explained last week in New York. “It’s regular. I brought the nice, wholesome vibe to the party … I brought all the chocolate milk.” Bosh was joking about the milk part. He just became a spokesman for the “Got Milk?” campaign, promoting awareness to the children that chocolate milk is healthy (“It’s good fuel for you after workouts as far as putting back proteins and carbs is concerned,” he said). Bosh also just finished a documentary that takes us through the journey of his free-agency period, when he left the Toronto Raptors for the Miami Heat, and said that acting is something he could see himself venturing into in the future if the opportunity presents itself. “That’s always something that I’m very interested in. I love movies, I love TV shows,” he said. “That’s something I want to get into eventually. You never know what you like until you try it.” The Heat start the season in October and Bosh, along with his other superstar teammates Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, has already been embraced by the city, especially the hip-hop community. “They didn’t have any problem expressing their opinions of their want for us down there,” Bosh said of rap luminaries such as DJ Khaled and Rick Ross being a part of the welcome wagon. “After ‘the Decision,’ it was known we were going down there. Somebody told me they saw Rick Ross on the Internet saying he was so excited about basketball, and he just had a album come out. I think it’s cool that everybody’s excited about us down there.”

Scott Disick Enters Therapy, Remains Douchey

Scott Disick is still a douchebag. But reports now indicate he’s a sober douchebag. Following his especially crazed, drunken actions on Sunday’s episode of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami , sources say Scott has had a “wake-up call” and entered therapy. “Scott realized that Kourtney could bar him from seeing Mason if he kept drinking. That’s what ultimately led him to get help,” the insider tells Life & Style . Another source gets more specific to E! News and adds: “Scott received outpatient rehab treatment and counseling for alcohol use and psychological issues after his Miami outburst. He’s still being treated.” This would be great, encouraging news… if we believed a single word about this family was not contrived by a team of publicists.

‘Jersey Shore’ Fans In Miami Weigh In On Change Of Scenery

‘They bring a little life to Miami,’ one fan tells MTV News. By Mawuse Ziegbe Cast of “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV After bar-brawling, club-hopping and GTL-ing their way to pop-culture stardom, the “Jersey Shore” kids had to take things to the next level in season two. So the crew upped the ante by taking the drama to another shore. In the second season of the MTV reality hit, which kicked off last week, the gang fist-pumps its way through Miami, and for the most part, South Beach fans have been enjoying the party. “I love ‘Jersey Shore.’ It’s … crazy,” Francisco Santander told MTV News. Denise Mata concurred: “[There is] always drama there, and it’s fun to watch [the] fights and them getting drunk, and it’s just funny to me.” The “Shore” crew has partied its way into fans’ hearts but has also weathered criticism that the super-tanned, party-startin’ housemates — who proudly champion the term “guidos” — reinforce Italian stereotypes. David Gliottone enjoys the craziness but has issues with their image. “I like the fact that they’re Italian,” Gliottone said. ” I don’t like the way that they act sometimes, [because] I think it kind of brings a negative vibe to the Italian community.” Nora Weinberg said she thinks the “Shore” stars should keep the drama up north, but added that it’s cool they’re branching out beyond the boardwalk. “I think they should be in Jersey, but I think it’s fun that they can go to Miami,” she said. George Ott said the crew’s antics have reached beyond the shores of both Jersey and Miami to score fans Down Under. “[I’m a] huge fan of the show in New Zealand,” Ott said. “[I] love the boys [and] JWoww.” As entertaining as fans find the cast’s beachside escapades, one viewer said the “Jersey Shore” crew may have brought too much heat to Miami. “I think the ‘Jersey Shore’ cast is really crazy and outgoing and they bring a little life to Miami,” Cassandra said. “But they need to stick to Jersey because they’re not supposed to be here doing that stuff. You don’t see that here in Miami.” What do you think about the “Jersey Shore” cast being in Miami? Let us know in the comments below! Don’t miss “Jersey Shore” every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Rick Ross ‘Teflon Don’ Moniker Criticized By Mobster’s Family

‘My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname,’ Carmine Agnello says of the late John Gotti. By Mawuse Ziegbe Rick Ross’ Teflon Don Photo: Def Jam After scoring several acquittals throughout the ’80s, reputed New York mobster John Gotti was nicknamed the “Teflon Don” because of his apparent inability to get convicted. Decades later, Miami MC Rick Ross has adopted the moniker for the title of his latest album; however, a member of Gotti’s family is not happy with the use of the late mob boss’ handle. “He should have asked for permission,” Gotti’s grandson Carmine Agnello told the New York Daily News. “A stand-up, respectable guy would come and ask, ‘If I could use the nickname.’ ” Agnello also implied that lifting the mob boss’ moniker was an unoriginal choice on Ross’ part. “I think he’s a great artist, but you can’t just start calling yourself that to sell records,” Agnello said. “He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself.” Agnello added, “My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname. That was my grandfather’s life.” Agnello also took a dig at Ross’ controversial pre-rap career as a prison guard and said, “Only in America can you go from being a corrections officer to calling yourself Teflon Don.” A rep for Ross did not respond to MTV News’ request for comment at press time. Although the moniker is often associated with the headline-making mob honcho, Ross said the title has personal significance. “A lot of people don’t know Teflon Don was my original rap name,” Ross told MTV News in January . “So it’s coming back around full-circle.” While Agnello has taken issue with Ross’ adoption of the Teflon Don title, it’s not the first time the Miami MC has woven notorious gangster references into his hip-hop persona. Ross recently released the mixtape, The Albert Anastasia EP, the title of which is a nod to another New York mobster. Ross was also reportedly sued by the infamous drug pusher Ricky Ross for . Regardless of the accusations being lobbed the MC’s way, Ross has said that he’s trying to top his previous work with his latest effort. “Myself, I try to get better and better with every rhyme I make — every rhyme I bring to the table, I want to make sure it’s more potent than the last,” Ross said. “I’m setting this album, Teflon Don, to be the album of my career.” Related Artists Rick Ross (Hip-Hop)

Lil Wayne Blogs About LeBron James Joining The Miami Heat

‘I believe that this Miami team will be explosive,’ Wayne says in a post on WeezyThanxYou.com. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lil Wayne Photo: Alexander Tamargo/ Getty Images Lil Wayne ‘s yearlong bid at Rikers hasn’t dulled the superstar MC’s love of sports. In a letter to fans posted last week on his website, WeezyThanxYou.com, Wayne revealed that he keeps up with ESPN as part of his daily routine. Now, like millions of basketball fans, LeBron James’ move to the Miami Heat has excited the incarcerated rapper. “Oh LeBron! The recent move by the Miami Heat confirms that we will someday soon have that good ole basketball back,” Wayne wrote in a blog posted Tuesday (July 20) title “The Tricks of the Trade.” With the Heat’s newly acquired superstar talent, Weezy wrote that he expects the team to bring fire to the court. “I believe that this Miami team will be explosive as intended,” Wayne continued. “Anything less than an NBA championship title will be uncivilized.” The MC also described some ways the Florida team might work the court: “Well with [Dwyane] Wade at the 1 and LeBron at the 2 or vice versa even, or Mario Chalmers at the 1, Wade at the 2, and Bron at the 3 … Wow! Not to mention that I didn’t mention [Chris] Bosh, who can live at the 4 or 5. Zone defense will be a must against this team,” Weezy wrote. “That’s 3 players on the court that commands a double team. Just imagine those guys on a fast break, the defender back [pedaling] … Wade can take it to the hole or throw it up and you know Bron. Bron is going to get it … or dish it back to a trailing Chris Bosh who will definitely finish at the rim … again, wow!” The Young Money star also analyzed a potential face-off between the Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA championship. “Hey, what if [former Lakers coach and current Heat President] Pat Riley returns to the sidelines and it ends up being the Lakers vs. Heat in the finals? Riley vs. [current Lakers coach Phil] Jackson! Epic! [Pau] Gasol on [Chris] Bosh, Ron-Ron [Artest] on Bron-Bron, and Kobe [Bryant] on Wade … wow!” In addition to following LeBron’s power moves, the rapper has apparently been keeping tabs on the NBA as a whole and examined the strengths and weaknesses of other teams in the league. “Also, beware of the [Chicago] Bulls. [Carlos] Boozer will fit in well because they’re similar to Utah [Jazz] in many ways. A nice guard surrounded by the shooters,” Weezy wrote. “The Bulls led the league in the rebounds last season and I’m sure they will again with Boozer and [Joakim] Noah.” The MC also dished on the potential performance of the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic. “If they can stay healthy, then expect [Amar’e Stoudemire] and [Anthony] Randolph to be beasts in the paint,” Wayne wrote, adding, “I’m not sure about Orlando in the East this upcoming season. I mean [Chris] Duhon isn’t exactly a good move but it has potential.” The post suggests that in addition to reclaiming his spot in the hip-hop game, the star is also looking forward to a stirring b-ball season. “I can’t wait to see how teams stack up next season when those other big name players hit the market,” Wayne wrote, capping off the post simply with, “Good ole basketball.” Are you glad Wayne is still keeping up with the sports world?
