Taylor Lautner Says ‘Abduction’ Has An ‘Amazing’ Story

‘I love action, but most important is the story,’ he tells MTV News of upcoming thriller. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Lily Collins is pretty sure Taylor Lautner, her co-star in “Abduction,” will doff his shirt at some point in the film — “which everyone would totally hate, right?” she joked recently with MTV News. When it comes to the onscreen removal of shirts and the baring of abdominal muscles, of course, Lautner is well-practiced . His “Eclipse” character seems almost allergic to covering his torso, so often does the teen werewolf appear shirtless. For other facets of “Abduction,” though, Lautner has needed some practice. That’s why he’s been hard at work for months in preparation for the summer shoot. “I’ve been training,” he told MTV News. “I did boxing training for a couple months. Now I’m into the fight training, motorcycle, I think when I get to Pittsburgh, do a little swimming training. It’s all around. It’s going to be a lot of fun.” In the Jason Bourne-style thriller, Lautner stars as a teen who stumbles upon his baby picture on a missing-persons website. As he reaches out to his birth parents, Lautner finds himself caught up in a world of underground spies and death-defying stunts. Joining him and Collins are Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello. “Abduction” is just one film in a growing lineup of action-centric roles for Lautner. The 18-year-old has the stunt-heavy “Eclipse” arriving in June, and he has plans for a superhero turn in “Stretch Armstrong” and a stylized thriller in “Cancun.” “I love action, but most important is the story,” Lautner said. “And the story behind this action thriller [‘Abduction’] is amazing. We got [director] John Singleton behind us. … I’m so thankful we’re getting a cast like that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Bradley Cooper, Bruce Willis To Star In Next M. Night Shyamalan Project

‘Iron Man 2’ star Gwyneth Paltrow will also reportedly star in ‘Last Airbender’ director’s upcoming film. By Adam Rosenberg Bradley Cooper Photo: Gabriel Bouys/ Getty Images Director M. Night Shyamalan is preparing to release his first big-budget, effects-driven blockbuster, “The Last Airbender,” based on the Nickelodeon cartoon “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” on July 1. And his next original film is a project for which the stars now seem to be aligning. The Hollywood Reporter ‘s Heat Vision blog reveals that those stars include Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis, who are all “loosely attached” to headline the film. No plot details have been revealed, as is usual with Shyamalan, but the filmmaker has assistants ferrying his script between studio execs, who are observed by those same assistants and are expected to surrender the script immediately after finishing. “Lady in the Water” aside, Shyamalan’s films continue to make money, though his most recent efforts have fared poorly with critics. And nothing has performed as well as the director’s debut effort, “The Sixth Sense,” which starred Willis and earned almost $700 million in worldwide ticket sales. The actor also worked with Shyamalan on his “Sixth Sense” follow-up, “Unbreakable.” If Willis is cast in this mysterious “Airbender” follow-up, it would be the pair’s first time working together since 2000. Cooper, who is just coming off of smiling for the cameras in support of this summer’s “The A-Team” and presenting duties at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , has a big 2011 coming up. He’ll star in the Todd Phillips-directed ensemble comedy “The Hangover 2,” reprising his role from last summer. He’ll also lead a cast that includes Robert De Niro, Anna Friel and Abbie Cornish in an adaptation of Alan Glynn’s novel “The Dark Fields.” Paltrow is also coming off of a big press push for her own work in 2010 summer blockbuster “Iron Man 2.” She’ll appear later this year with Leighton Meester, Tim McGraw and “Tron Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund in the country music drama “Love Don’t Let Me Down.” She’s also one of the sizable ensemble cast that’s assembled for Steven Soderbergh’s “Contagion,” which also stars Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Laurence Fishburne. Megan Fox Wants To Play Native American Lesbian Superhero Rainmaker

‘Jonah Hex’ star would love to star in adaptation of ‘Gen 13’ comic book series. By Jocelyn Vena Megan Fox Photo: Jean Baptiste Lacroix/ Getty Images Though Megan Fox’s turn as a gun-toting prostitute in the adaptation of comic book “Jonah Hex” failed to make an impression at the box office, the actress said she would like to have another go at the comic book genre. “I don’t want people to protest this, but I would like to be [Sarah] Rainmaker in ‘Gen 13’ if they ever made that into a movie,” she told Fox News . “Gen 13” is about a group of teens who escape from a government training facility after they realize they’re being kept there to test their superhuman powers. Rainmaker is an Apache superhero who has the power to manipulate the weather using her thoughts. She also is skilled in all things combat. Despite that aptitude, she is a pacifist, unless she has to fight off evil villains. “I grew up reading ‘Gen 13,’ ” Fox told MTV News last year, but more recently, she clarified that she’s not an expert in the genre. “I have some knowledge, but I’m not a hard-core nerd. Unfortunately, I would like to be, but I just don’t have the knowledge.” But speaking to Fox News, she was confident in her ability to play Rainmaker. “She’s a Native American, and I have a little bit of that blood in me,” Fox said of the role. “It would be a bit of a stretch — but if Jake Gyllenhaal can be the Prince of Persia, I think that I can do that.” As for the combat part, she luckily had to learn those skills for “Jonah Hex.” “The best part was the guns, because I’ve never done that before so that was a completely new challenge, and there was really not a ‘worst part,’ ” Fox explained. “If I had to pick, I guess I would say the corset, but I personally enjoyed that, and it’s just hard to kick ass when you’re laced up in something like that.” Would you like to see Megan Fox in the role of Rainmaker? Michael Jackson Fans Face Tight Restrictions At Forest Lawn Cemetery

Fans can’t camp out, get near mausoleum or release doves on Friday’s anniversary of Jackson’s death. By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Getty Images With Friday’s one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death fast approaching, fans from around the world are, no doubt, working on their plans for honoring the late King of Pop. One logical place for those supporters to gather is Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California, where Jackson is interred in the Great Mausoleum. But despite reports last month that fans were expected to have limited access to Forest Lawn on Friday, according to TMZ , officials are putting a number of conditions on anyone planning to attend the event. A rep for Forest Lawn told the site that attendees will be allowed to enter the park on Friday, but, as expected, they will not be allowed anywhere near the mausoleum, the final resting place for a number of Hollywood legends, including Clark Gable, Carole Lombard and Jean Harlow. As for the special requests made by fans hoping to honor Jackson’s memory — including the releasing of balloons or doves, or holding performances of Jackson’s songs and dance routines — the rep said they too were mostly denied. A spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department said that fans will not be allowed to camp out or park around Forest Lawn 24 hours in advance of the anniversary, and no street vendors can set up booths hawking MJ merchandise near the cemetery. The past year has contained plenty of other tributes to Jackson , from superstar DJ mixtapes to a recently announced plan for a $300 million museum and performance complex in the singer’s hometown of Gary, Indiana. Jackson died on June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest at his rented Hollywood mansion. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office ruled that the 50-year-old singer died of “acute propofol intoxication” in combination with the use of sedatives. Authorities have claimed that his personal physician, cardiologist Conrad Murray, administered a lethal dose of the surgical anesthetic to chronic insomniac Jackson in an attempt to help him get to sleep. Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter in February in connection with Jackson’s death and has pleaded not guilty in the case. The doctor is out on $75,000 bail and faces up to four years in prison if convicted. Celebrate Michael Jackson ‘s legacy all week long as MTV News looks back at his life, his music and the death that shook the world one year ago.
