Michelle Obama Visits Tonight Show, Jay Leno Actually Eats Vegetables!

First Lady Michelle Obama cajoled Jay Leno into eating healthy foods for the first time in … oh, ever during her visit to the Tonight Show on NBC Tuesday. Promoting her “Let’s Move!” campaign to get kids excited about fitness and healthy diets, Michelle brought out some food to make an example out of Jay. As both Jay and Michelle joked repeatedly about his eating habits, Leno sampled apples, sweet potato fries and a pizza made with eggplant, peppers and zucchini. Could’ve used some sausage, but even Jay conceded it wasn’t bad. Michelle Obama Tonight Show Interview, Part II Michelle Obama encouraged Jay to dip his apple in honey made from beehives in the White House garden: “It will help it go down easier,” she said. “’White House honey’? That just sounds bad,” Leno replied, adding, “You know, with a different president that could mean a whole different thing.” In California to promote her initiative and attend a pair of fundraising events, Michelle also talked about her daughters and her husband’s reelection campaign. She even praised Mitt Romney singing at a recent event. Classy woman. Watch the first part of Michelle Obama’s Tonight Show interview below: Michelle Obama Tonight Show Interview, Part I

Michelle Obama ‘Is Really Funny,’ Miranda Cosgrove Says

‘iCarly’ star tells MTV News about first lady’s cameo, airing Monday on Nickelodeon. By Jocelyn Vena Jennette McCurdy, Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Michelle Obama in “iCarly: iMeet the First Lady” Photo: Lisa Rose/Nickelodeon Miranda Cosgrove is welcoming her biggest and most political guest star to date on Monday’s episode of “iCarly.” The teen star will be joined by first lady Michelle Obama in a very special episode of the series aptly called “iMeet the First Lady.” The episode, which airs at 7:30 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon, will follow Carly as she prepares to welcome her military dad home for his birthday. When he’s unable to come back from his deployment, the First Lady meets with Carly to thank her for her family’s sacrifice and service. Cosgrove said the idea for the episode came courtesy of Mrs. O herself after watching the show with her daughters. “It was one of the most exciting days in the entire time we’ve been filming the series in the last five years,” she said. “Because there was Secret Service everywhere and there’s just so much preparation for her coming and everybody was so excited to meet her. And then she came to the set and she was really down to earth and fun.” Given that Mrs. Obama is such a rookie when it comes to acting, the young Hollywood heavyweight weighed in on the first lady’s skills, giving her two thumbs up. “In real life she’s really funny, so I think that helped a lot because she just has a really good sense of humor,” she said. “So, she has good comic timing.” While the episode is about Carly’s experience in a military family, the episode really pays homage to all the military families out there. “This is really the best thing we could have done because it’s all about celebrating military families, just really letting all these kids know how important their parents are and how great they are for supporting them,” Cosgrove said. In fact, just to show how much support the show has for these families, the cast has been hosting special screenings of the episode at military bases throughout the country. The last will be held Friday (January 13) near Washington, D.C., at Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Virginia. “It’s been really fun going to all the different military bases and meeting all the families and kids,” Cosgrove said. “They’re the first ones who get to see it … The response has been really good.” And at this last screening, Cosgrave will be joined by her super special co-star. “Mrs. Obama is going to be there and we’re going to get to see her again,” she teased. “And maybe we’ll randomly dance.” Are you excited for the presidential episode of “iCarly”? Michelle Obama Is Not Some Angry Black Woman! [VIDEO]

Go here to read the rest:

For every time someone calls a black woman strong, 5,000 others will call her angry. When you’re a strong black woman and the wife of the first black president, you’re going to get called angry more often than not. Michelle Obama has fallen victim to the angry black woman label thanks to a new book written by New York Times writer, Jodi Kantor . In the book, Kantor tells of The First Lady having issues with President Obama’s top advisers. Michelle Obama was interviewed by Gayle King where she refuted those claims. Obama told King, “I guess it’s just more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here. That’s been an image people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced, that I’m some kind of angry black woman.” Mrs. Obama also stated that she has no real contact with Obama’s staff. “If there’s communication that needs to happen, it’s between staffs,” she said. “I don’t have conversations with my husband’s staff.” For more on the story, head over to Black Voices . Read: Obama’s Favorite Late Night Joint The Obamas joined the service members for Christmas lunch, which included roast beef, salad and apple pie. A highlight of the president’s visit was an eight-month-old son of a service man, who got closer to Obama than everyone else. He grabbed Obama’s face and then stuck his fingers in the president’s mouth. Obama joked saying the baby perhaps liked his “big nose.” Watch the President’s Weekly address below: Make sure that you are following us on twitter and chatting with us on facebook. Clap Back: Michele Bachman Responds To The The Roots’ Song Choice During Her Jimmy Fallon Appearance

Awww po’ thang… As we reported earlier today, Jimmy Fallon’s house band The Roots, had a very specific song that they wanted to play as GOP Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann walked out onto the stage last night. GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is lashing out at NBC for not apologizing or taking immediate disciplinary action for an off-color song played during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night.” (Msnbc.com is a joint venture of Microsoft and NBC Universal.) Bachmann said Wednesday on the Fox News Channel that the Fallon show band displayed sexism and bias by playing a snippet of a 1985 Fishbone song. The title of the song is “Lyin’ Ass B—-.” Fallon has tweeted an apology to Bachmann for “the intro mess” during her appearance earlier in the week. But Bachmann expressed surprise that the TV network hasn’t apologized or disciplined the show’s Roots band. “This is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite,” Bachmann said. She added, “This wouldn’t be tolerated if this was Michelle Obama. It shouldn’t be tolerated if it’s a conservative woman either.” Whoa dere…first things first, just because your name is “Michele” doesn’t mean that you are ANYTHING like Michelle Obama! Furthermore, there are MANY reported discrepancies in the the stories you’ve have told about receiving gov’t funds for businesses that you own or benefit from. Let’s be clear… Not for nothin’, but Bachmann shouldn’t feel too bad, The Roots have done this same thing a several people. The Roots frequently make sly, often obscure, song choices as Fallon’s guests are introduced. When Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs came out, they played part of Genesis’ “Illegal Alien,” a reference to Dobbs’ frequent commentaries on the topic. Current TV host Keith Olbermann, formerly of MSNBC, heard part of Klymaxx’s “I Miss You.” Kathie Lee Gifford was saluted with UB40′s “Red Red Wine,” a reference to the drink she often shares on-air with “Today” co-host Hoda Kotb.
