Zac Efron is "So Proud" of Miley Cyrus

Last month, Miley Cyrus made one of the most confusing, ridiculous comments on record, saying there’s a double standard at work between the negative reaction she receives on stage and the praise heaped upon Zac Efron in movies. However, Miley also showed love for the former High School Musical star, telling Billy Bush: “Zac has a special place in my heart. If it wasn’t creepy and he wasn’t my friend, I would have posters of him on my wall.” After being shown this interview, Efron had the following to say to Access Hollywood about Cyrus: “I’ve known her since she was a little girl. It’s amazing what she’s done. She’s blossomed into this beautiful lady and taking the world by storm. I’m so proud of her.” In other words: Zac is the anti-THG when it comes to Miley Cyrus. As he tours the country in promotion of Charlie St. Cloud , meanwhile, Efron stopped by the Mall of America in Minnesota yesterday. Over 7,000 fans came out to meet and greet this handsome actor. Katy Perry Talks ‘Gorgeous’ Video For ‘Teenage Dream’

So for “Teenage Dream,” the album’s second single, Perry headed to the beach. In photos taken from the video shoot for the title track, Perry is seen canoodling with a hot guy in a hotel pool in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California. The guy is rumored to be actor Josh Kloss. In another still, leaked online , a bikini-clad Perry is kneeling in the sand, looking up at a scantily clad man, presumably Kloss. Perry tweeted about the clip as well, writing , “Cut, copy, print, moving on! That’s a wrap for Teenage Dream! So gorgeous, I really can’t wait to see what [director] Yoann Lemoine makes of it all!!! In my hometown. I got to cast all my friends in the new music vid for Teenage Dream = amazing insanity.” Previewed at a listening party last month, the radio-friendly title track picks up right where “California Gurls” leaves off. With a strong beat to back her up, Perry sings about a boy who makes her feel like a teenager again. “I wrote that song in Santa Barbara and it was a very pure moment for me, because that’s where I’m from,” she told MTV News in early June. “And it was, like, where I started my creative juices. But a girl can’t have it all, right? After a heated battle, Gaga went down in rare defeat on Thursday, when Justin Bieber surpassed her to set a record for the most-watched music video in YouTube history. At press time, Bieber’s “Baby” collabo with Ludacris had logged 245,746,720 views, pushing past Gaga’s epic “Bad Romance” clip, which was not far behind with 245,596,709. Now, given Gaga’s rabid fanbase of little monsters, there’s no doubt this pitched battle will continue and perhaps see a few more lead changes, but for now, the Biebs has emerged victorious. Bieber, in the midst of doctor-imposed vocal rest while on tour, reacted to the news with delight, tweeting on Thursday, “what is goin on with the ‘Baby’ video on YouTube is crazy … I started on YouTube so the support … well I just need to say thank u.” Showing he was raised right and is a good sport, he followed that tweet with a flip of his bowl cut to his rival, writing, “someone just showed me and I just need to say that @ladygaga is an incredible artist who have great respect 4. And her vid is incredible … so it doesn’t matter who has more views, what matters is that we have incredible fans that support us … that I’m sure we are both grateful 4.” Then again, winning feels kinda sweet, so he did do a bit of Twitter victory lap. “So thanks … like I said, I started on YouTube so … WOW!! Love u and wish u all the best in each and every one of ur lives. Thanks Beliebers!” And in case the race got close again, his next post was a link to the video. The Associated Press reports that around 300 guests — including Spike Lee, Kim Kardashian and fellow baller LeBron James — watched the couple swap vows at Manhattan’s Cipriani restaurant. The duo’s 3-year-old son, Kiyan, escorted them down the aisle. According to People magazine, the bride wore a Vera Wang gown, and the wedding was officiated by Georgetown professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson. DJ Clue spun at the wedding, which was filmed as part of an upcoming VH1 reality show, according to UsMagazine.com . Vasquez and Anthony got engaged in 2004. Vasquez and her pals also tweeted about the wedding festivities over the weekend. On Saturday, Ciara sent out a twit pic of the star with the bride, Kim Kardashian, Trina and Angie Martinez lounging on a boat. After the ceremony, Miami MC Trina tweeted, “Best night of my life @LalaVazquez and Melo wedding!! :).” Vasquez apparently had a great time as well, as Clue tweeted to the newlywed, “u’re the 1st person I ever seen trying to jump off the stage into the crowd in a wedding dress! Welcome2 #TeamWasted.” The next day, Vasquez shouted out Clue for keeping the energy up: “I love @THEREALDJCLUE he had it ROCKIN last night! UNBELIEVABLE.” The new bride also took a second to thank everyone for helping her celebrate the big event. “Best night of my entire life,” Vasquez tweeted. “Thank u to all my family and friends who shared tonight with me. ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Leads New Teen Choice 2010 Nominees

By Gil Kaufman Taylor Lautner in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Photo: Summit Entertainment No matter which way you slice it, the night of August 9 is likely to be a big one for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” With final nominations announced on Monday (July 12), the teen vampire drama leads all nominees at the Teen Choice Awards 2010 with 17 nods total, including 11 for Taylor Lautner. Among the new nominees for the Katy Perry-hosted show revealed on Monday were: Justin Bieber, B.o.B, Taio Cruz, Drake and Eminem in Choice Summer Music Star Male, with Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Perry and Rihanna all nominated in the female category. As for Choice Summer Song, it will be Gaga (“Alejandro”) against B.o.B with Hayley Williams (“Airplanes”) , Travie McCoy with Bruno Mars (“Billionaire”) , Perry again with Snoop Dogg (“California Gurls”) and Ke$ha (“Your Love is My Drug”) . Taylor Momsen on Miley Cyrus Comparisons: Shut the Eff Up!

Miley Cyrus may be a colossal disappointment for a variety of reasons, but at least she doesn’t curse, smoke or look like a raccoon at all times. The same can’t be said for Gossip Girl cast member Taylor Momsen. Speaking to FHM UK , the 16-year old lashed out at critics that compare her to Miley this week, making it very clear that she doesn’t see any similarities between the pair. “I’m not looking to be Miley f*cking Cyrus,” Momsen said. “I don’t care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we’ll go along for the ride.” Momsen and Cyrus may both act and sing, but that’s pretty much where the comparisons end. The former fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless, while the latter is nothing more than a Britney Spears wannabe at this point. Still, Taylor feels a need to distance herself from Miley, adding: “I think the Disney bubblegum shit that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression.” It’s unclear what that actually means, but Gossip Girl fans have made their opinion of Momsen and her character well-known: Jenny Humphrey has been written out of most of next season on the show. Good riddance.

Hannah Montana Sneak Peek: The Final Season

Ready to enter an alternate universe? Given the extreme makeover Miley Cyrus has undergone over the past couple months, it’s jarring to remember that she still plays Hannah Montana on television. In fact, that show will air the first episode of its final season tomorrow night. It finds the Stewarts moving into a new ranch home and we’ve posted a sneak peek at the premiere below. Miley is front and center, but there are no same-sex kisses, no gyrating of the crotch and no torn-up, low-cut, ridiculous outfits to be seen… Hannah Montana Clip Cyrus has gone out of her way to say she wants to shed this innocent image, but she really might wanna think twice about that. After all, her new album sales have been abysmal . She may have to accept the fact that most fans wish to see her as looks here, not as some Britney Spears wannabe:

Bret Michaels: Thankful, Ready to Rock Again!

Fans that worry about the return of Bret Michaels to the stage – so soon after his hospitalization for a brain hemmorage in April – can rest easy. That’s the message this singer had in an interview with Entertainment Tonight last night. He said: “I took every precaution. I wouldn’t do it if I thought I was going to die. I fought too hard to live. I want to show people I’m healthy. I feel great. I’m thankful for all the well wishes and everything that came my way, but let’s get back to having a great time. “Let’s get back to rockin’ again.” During the discussion with Samantha Harris, Bret touched on a couple other topics, including the flak he got for a duet with Miley Cyrus . Excerpts are below: On leaving the hospital : “After you spend literally what was almost a month and half in three different ICU units, I was done. I was like, ‘I need to get out of here.’ It becomes extremely depressing, and what gets me up and going out there is making music and being around my family and friends. That’s an awesome feeling.” On the Cyrus controversy : “[Miley] came in and sang a really, really awesome harmony to it. And it caused amazing controversy out of nothing. There was all this, you know, ‘How can they be singing a duet together?’ And I said, ‘It’s not a duet. She’s singing harmonies.’” On getting back to business : “I have a job I love. “Let me tell you, if I had a job that I hated or it sucked, I would’ve milked that brain hemorrhage for another three years. I would’ve gone until the insurance ran out and said, ‘Man I can’t get up.’ “But I’m like, this is what I love to do and I figure if I can do it why not go out there and enjoy myself? And if it mentally helps me to heal, and physically helps me to heal, that’s a good day.”
