Tori Spelling hasn’t been in the news much lately, so naturally, she felt the need to take matters into her own hands and do something about it. The last time we checked in on Tori, she had burned her hand on a grill at Benihana – not exactly the kind of story you want to be remembered for, should your career fall off a cliff tomorrow (which could happen at any time with Tori, if it hasn’t already.) So Tori decided to change the conversation without all the pesky work that comes with becoming a good actor and building a respectable resume: Yes, she posted a semi-topless selfie! Maybe this is a way of squashing the rumors about Tori expecting a fifth child . Or maybe she just wants to show that pilates pays off. There are numerous reasons why Tori would show a sudden interest in racy selfies, but the most likely explanation is that this is part of her campaign to renew the public’s interest in her private life in hopes of landing another reality show. Sources say Tori and Dean are completely broke , and neither of them have any real work on the horizon. Their latest Lifetime trainwreck was tough to watch, but it (sometimes) got decent ratings. Arsenio Hall has absolutely gone off on Brian Williams. Not long after Williams broke his silence – appearing opposite Matt Lauer and blaming his ego for the many lies he told as host of NBC Nightly News – Hall went on Twitter and let the reporter have it. “Brian Williams is a LIAR, who betrayed his loyal viewers & attempted to hijack the valor of our brave men & women in the military,” wrote Hall. The comedian also included hashtag “#f*ckhim.” Back in February, NBC suspended Williams for six months after it became clear the anchor misled viewers about the role he played in various Iraq War incidents. On Thursday, it was announced Lester Holt will permanently replace Williams as the head of the NBC Nightly News. Williams has been bumped to covering breaking news for MSNBC. During his TODAY interview, the veteran newsman acknowledged he told “wrong stories” and said he “owns up” to his false statements. Obama Bans Military Vehicles From Local Police Departments Our President is pulling the rug out from under the cops who think they are soldiers… Via HuffingtonPost In an unexpected move, President Barack Obama on Monday will ban the federal government from providing certain military equipment to police departments. Effective immediately, the government will no longer provide local law enforcement with armored vehicles, grenade launchers and bayonets. Other items like explosives and riot equipment will be transferred to police only if they provide additional certification and assurances that the gear will be used responsibly. The changes stem from recommendations made to the president in a new report produced by a White House working group. Obama created the task force earlier this year via executive order. The president’s action is part of a broader effort to relieve tensions between law enforcement and minority communities after the deaths of several black men at the hands of police in Ferguson, Missouri; Baltimore; and other cities. In Ferguson, for example, local police rolled out armored tanks and riot gear in response to protests over the 2014 death of Michael Brown, a reaction that many saw as making the situation dramatically worse. “The idea is to make sure that we strike a balance in providing the equipment, which is appropriate and useful and important for local law enforcement agencies to keep the community safe, while at the same time putting standards in place so that there’s a clear reason for the transfer of that equipment, that there’s clear training and safety procedures in place,” White House Director of Domestic Policy Cecilia Muñoz said in a Sunday call with reporters. Of course, POTUS can’t take away all of the cops’ toys with out giving them a lil’ somethin’-somethin’ in return… News of the ban on military weapons comes ahead of Obama’s Monday visit to Camden, New Jersey, where he will highlight the success of the city’s police department in building trust with its community. The president will visit police headquarters and meet with officers before giving public remarks. He will also announce $163 million in grants to encourage police departments to adopt the recommendations of the White House working group report. Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans just got engaged to Nathan Griffith , but not everything is celebratory in the life of the mother of two these days. She got into an epic argument with his brother, who was with them on their engagement trip, and a shocking video clip of it has made it way online. Her fiancé’s friends Candace and Patrick flew in from Kentucky and met them there,” her friend told Radar. “They’re married. Nathan was in the military with Patrick.” This being Jenelle Evans , though, drama soon followed. “Jenelle found out that Nathan had paid for their tickets … It was like a free vacation for their friends,” says the source … and the gift didn’t cease there. The group charged “fine dining” to Evans’ card, as well as a $500 bar tab. This after Jenelle also paid for their engagement dinner and their transportation. Frustrated, “Jenelle asked the hotel if they could put a stop on her card. They said they couldn’t, because if you had a room key, you could charge whatever you want.” At that point, Jenelle “texted [Nathan’s sister-in-law] Paula and she informed Paula that her card was on the hotel room and … to please not charge anything. ” “Paula responded with a nasty text … Jenelle asked her to stop, and [said] if she didn’t, she would have her escorted out. He told Jenelle after the fight to keep her mouth shut and be a bigger person, but Candace and Patrick started demanding a public apology.” Evans conceded, via a public tweet. Still not over. “Candace and Patrick contacted Nathan 15 minutes later and “told him the apology wasn’t sincere … they basically wanted Jenelle to name them.” They said “If they didn’t, they would sell her out.” “Jenelle was done,” the source said. “She felt like they could sell her out, since she had remained quiet about [other shocking things that happened] on the trip.” In any case, “it ruined their engagement trip.” We’ll say. Evans is currently in negotiations with MTV to film her wedding for Teen Mom 2 , but we just hope this gets patched up so there’s a wedding at all. She suggested to her boyfriend (EEEK!) that perhaps he ought to have a key to her apartment. Following the disaster of Pike, she also suggests they keep their romance a secret at the office. How long did you think that arrangement would last? Cho eventually found out the truth, reacting in a matter-of-fact fashion, while Abbot was very quick to pick up on something different between the agent and the consultant. Elsewhere at the office: Agent Fischer left to take care of her sick mother, while Quantico rookie Michelle Vega (played by Josie Loren) is now on board. Jane deduces her military past (she resigned from West Point after her father died) and it appears as if she’s turned the head of Adler. The Case of the Week centered on the murder of an undercover FBI agent outside a bowling alley (he had been looking into gun-running there). Eventually, Jane realized that the victim (many years ago) witnessed the abduction of his best friend, who ultimately died. Could he have bumped into and recognized the kidnapper in present day? Yes. A bit of typically Patrick Jane razzle dazzle (how we’ve missed that!) solved both cases, uncovering the hidden weapons stash and also the alley’s manager as be the former kidnapper/killer. Toward the end of the premiere, Jane bumped into Pike, who asked if he has a “plan.” Is he ready to also offer her a life, a home a family? No, Jane basically admits to Lisbon, but she seems okay with that for now. We end with Jane having a vintage car taking our new favorite couple away from the FBI building. It’s so very nice to have this CBS drama back in our lives, isn’t it? Last week, Cressida Bonas dumped Prince Harry , leaving the royal playboy single for the second time in a year. The old Harry might have marked the occasion by hitting London hot spots in search of good times and single ladies, but friends say things are different this time. Harry turned 30 in September and he’s reportedly focused mainly on his career these days. Sure, Harry is on the market, but only – if his mates are to be believed – because he believes being married would help him climb the military ranks. According to one insider who recently spoke with the Daily Mail, Harry recently remarked: “I’ll have to marry if I’m to stay in the Army. I don’t think I can climb the ranks as a bachelor. Being a soldier’s wife can be dull, especially if troops are away on ops like I am. It’s a hassle.” Yeah, we’re sure a lot of women would be up for the “hassle” of being hitched to a prince.
