Steve Carell’s Emmy Expectations Were ‘Fairly Low’

‘Office’ star wasn’t expecting to take home the Emmy for his final season as Michael Scott — and he didn’t. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Steve Carell at the 2011 Emmy Awards Photo: MTV News Steve Carell will no longer be playing “The Office” boss Michael Scott, and on Sunday night (September 18), it seemed that he wouldn’t be taking home an Emmy for the role either. The six-time nominee for the role lost to “Big Bang Theory” actor Jim Parsons, but he didn’t seem to think he had a shot at it before the show even started. On the red carpet, MTV News caught up with the comedic actor, and he seemed doubtful he’d finally take home an Emmy for his portrayal of the bumbling Michael Scott. “It would be a culmination of all my hopes and dreams,” he laughed. “It would be great, but I’m putting my expectations on the fairly low side and just trying to enjoy it and see my friends. I haven’t seen my friends from ‘The Office’ in a while, so that’s going to be fun.” Sure, Michael Scott may have moved away to be with his lady love Holly, but would he be willing to stop by for a cameo this season, or ever? “I don’t think Michael Scott should come back at all,” he said. “I just think it’s better if he just moves along. I think the show should become whatever it’s going to become without people traipsing back in.” Next up, Carell is working with Spike Jonze on the movie “Frank or Francis,” but he stayed pretty tight-lipped. “It is based in the world of Hollywood,” Carell said cryptically, before admitting, “It’s crazy great.” Would you like to see Steve Carell make a return trip to “The Office”? Talkback: Which Emmy Nominee Deserves a Bigger Movie Career?

I can’t conceive of a Movieline reader who doesn’t care about award shows, so I suspect I’m in a safe space when I say I can’t wait for tonight’s Emmys. Out of every primetime ceremony (including the Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammys, VMA s, and the little-seen CMT Drunken Hayseed Awards), the Emmys pick the right winners most often. Yes, Modern Family deserved to beat Glee . Yes, Bryan Cranston deserved three straight wins. But there’s one area in which Emmy nominees deserve more justice: in the jump from the small to the silver screen. If you could pick one Emmy nominee who deserves a bigger movie career, who would it be?

Is Sexy Fright Night Star Sandra Vergara REALLY Sofia Vergara’s Sister? [PICS]

They’re both Columbian, they’re both Vergaras, and they’re both super sexy. There’s no doubt about that. But according to Sofia Vergara , boobalicious star of Modern Family , the woman whom reporters have been calling her “younger sister,” Fright Night star Sandra Vergara (standing at left), isn’t really her sibling. As it turns out, Sandra is actually Sofia’s cousin, but the two were raised together- Sandra was taken in by Sofia’s parents at an early age. Sofia’s upset that Sandra isn’t making the distinction in the press, basically accusing her soon-to-be-estranged relative of riding her big, round, delicious coconuts- er, coattails- to stardom. Sandra has a sexy role in the upcoming vampire remake Fright Night, including several scenes where she strips to her bra and one Colum-believable thong shot as she puts on a black robe. Could she be purposefully playing up the Sofia commection to get more publicity for her role? Or is Sofia simply failing to show the adopted-sisterly love? Skin Central doesn’t really care, as long as these addictive Columbian exports keep showing up on our computer screens! Play com-bare and contr-ass with Sandra Vergara and Sofia Vergara after the jump!

Sofia Vergara: "I’ve Had Huge Boobs Since I Was 13"

Capping off a week of sexy celebs sharing their suckle-stalk secrets is Sofia Vergara , the Columbian export who is currently straining men’s jeans as Gloria on Modern Family. According to Sofia, she’s been making the hombres sweat for quite some time now- in a surprisingly sexy interview (well, for middle-aged mom mag Redbook , anyway), Sofia shares this tantalizing tidbit about her tits: I’ve had these ridiculously huge boobs since I was super young. Like, 13. I was really skinny at that time, so it was weird to have those f–king boobs and be skinny. It was hideous. Then after I had my kid, I got hips and everything started to come together. Are we sure Sofia knows what “hideous” means? See more from voluptuous vixen Sofia Vergara right here at MrSkin.com!

‘Glee’ Graduates Already Have After-School Plans

Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer all are working on films. By Terri Schwartz Lea Michele Photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images Life is changing for the cast of “Glee,” both onscreen and off. Thursday’s Emmy nominations were kind to the cast, but creator Ryan Murphy’s announcement Wednesday that leads Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will exit the show after the third season came as a bit of a shock to the actors involved. Apparently, neither Colfer nor Monteith was aware that their time with Fox’s hit musical show would be ending so soon, though they did know their characters would be written off at some point to coincide with their impending high school graduations. “I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year,” Colfer told “Access Hollywood” . “I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can’t be there forever. I don’t necessarily want to leave so soon, but it’s fine. It’s what it is, and all things come to an end.” Fortunately, things are on an upswing for Colfer. He earned his second Emmy nomination for the show Thursday, and after winning the Golden Globe earlier this year for his performance, there’s a good chance he’ll be taking Emmy gold home come September 18. Then, Friday morning (July 15), there was the announcement that “Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks will be joining Colfer in his upcoming film project “Struck by Lightning,” which he both wrote and stars in. Sarah Hyland of “Modern Family” and “My Best Friend’s Wedding” actor Dermot Mulroney jumped onboard as well. Colfer also can look forward to the release of “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie,” coming August 12. The trailer for the film debuted online Thursday. The three exiting “Glee” stars all seem to be remaining optimistic about their upcoming departure. “We always knew we’d graduate in real time. It’s all part of the plan and it’s all good! It’s going to make Season 3 amazing!!!” Michele tweeted after the announcement hit the web. Both she and Monteith also have upcoming film projects. Michele has a role in Garry Marshall’s ensemble rom-com “New Year’s Eve,” filming now, and Monteith has the upcoming “Sisters & Brothers” in addition to his recently released “Monte Carlo.” Then there’s also the rumor, courtesy of RumorFix.com , that Michele and Colfer will be receiving their own spin-off show. Were you surprised by the “Glee” announcement? Sound off below!

Paula LaBaredas Drops Some Unknown Hotness

I haven’t got a clue who this Paula LaBaredas chick is, but I’m not one to refuse pictures of a hot chick in an absolutely tiny dress, so I just had to share them with you. Besides, she looks pretty cute whoever she is, and her name kind of sounds like it’s spanish for the bare ass. Hot. more pictures of Paula LaBaredas here

Sarah Hyland Flashes Some Skin

I’ve only seen the show Modern Family a couple of times, but I’m not afraid to admit that I noticed Sarah Hyland’s hotness right away. I know that sounds perberted because she plays a teenager, but I already knew she was an adult so it’s not all that creepy. Anyhow, here she is at some movie premiere dropping a little cleavage. Well, trying to drop some cleavage. Nice sternum.

Zach Galifianakis Reveals Potential Plot for The Hangover Part III, Makes Awkward Gay Joke

To the surprise of no one, The Hangover Part III continues to be a thing. “They want to do a Hangover III ,” Zach Galifianakis told Rolling Stone . “I’m getting fricking phone calls already.” Per the hirsute star, the third film would potentially revolve around Phil and Stu (Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms) breaking Galifianakis’ Alan out of a mental institution. Which, sure. What’s really interesting about the interview, however, is Galifianakis’ awkward encounter with Jane Lynch and Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
