Roman Reigns Opens Up About Ongoing Battle With Leukemia: “I Will Beat This & I Will Be Back”

Source: Sheri Determan/WENN Pro-wrestler  Leati Joseph Anoaʻi , more affectionately known as Roman Reigns, is relinquishing his claim to the WWE Universal Championship. Sadly, he has another battle to fight—leukemia. Reigns announced on Monday that he’d been dealing with cancer for 11 years of his life and now, it’s returned. Kicking off WWE’s Monday Night Raw he said, “When I was 22 years old, I was diagnosed with this. And very quickly I was able to put it in remission. But I’m not going to lie, that was the hardest time in my life. I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have any money, I didn’t have a home and I had a baby on the way.” He made it clear, however, that he plans on getting back in the ring soon. “I want to make one thing clear—by no means is this a retirement speech,” he said. “I will beat this and I will be back, so you will see me very very soon.” Following Reign’s emotional announcement, John Cena and Mick Foley tweeted out words of support . ‘Courage – strength in the face of pain or grief.’ You have given us your everything including a courageously vulnerable moment. We, your WWE family, give you all of our love and support. #ThankYouRoman #NeverGiveUp — John Cena (@JohnCena) October 23, 2018 I’m just learning now of @WWERomanReigns leukemia diagnosis. Stunned. I liked and respected him from the moment I met him. Sending my very best wishes and prayers for you, Joe. — Mick Foley (@RealMickFoley) October 23, 2018 We are keeping Reigns in our prayers. Ultimate Warrior: Video Shows WWE Star Looking Weak, Pained Before Death

The Ultimate Warrior looked like he was on the verge of death last weekend, appearing sweaty and in poor health, like he was about to completely unravel. Witnesses say the WWE legend seemed to be in constant pain, to the point where anyone who came in contact with the wrestler noticed, according to TMZ. Then, Monday night, when the Warrior did his signature rope shake after his big speech on Monday Night Raw, he looked like a shell of his former self. Not only that, in what would be his final speech, he forebodingly said, “Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe a final breath.” Just one night later, The Ultimate Warrior died suddently. The Ultimate Warrior on Monday Night Raw “We all felt like he looked like he was going to blow a gasket … it was pretty easy to see,” said a witness Monday night , and tragically, his fall was foretold. The Ultimate Warrior was walking in a Scottsdale, Ariz., hotel Tuesday when he collapsed with chest pains; it is believed his cause of death was a heart attack . Warrior (born James Hellwig) was just 54 years old. R.I.P. His full RAW speech appears after the jump … No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the story tellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with warrior spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with the passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends, as well. I am Ultimate Warrior. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans. And the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever!

Ben Roethlisberger "Drink and Drunk" Graphic Prompts Apology From ESPN

ESPN has issued an apology after airing a graphic Monday entitled “Ben Roethlisberger ‘Drink and Drunk’” … instead of dink and dunk, football parlance for short passes. “We have to tell you this for sure, earlier in the show we had a graphic error in the rundown,” Monday Night Countdown anchor Chris Berman said. “We apologize for the mistake.” “Not sure how it happened. It won’t happen again, we’ll be back.” So … given that it’s Ben Roethlisberger, and we’re talking about two typos in a three-word sentence, is there any real possibility this was a mere “error”? Berman’s apology caught him some flak, for this reason, as well as his lack of specifically mentioning the offending words or the player they referenced. The Steelers QB was twice accused of sexual assault in recent years, though he wasn’t charged criminally in either case; alcohol is believed to have played a role. Unless you’re a Ben Roethlisberger accuser , you have to admit, that “error” is pretty funny. Wouldn’t it be great if ESPN actually acknowleged it as such? “We’re very sorry for this incident, which was clearly a joke perpetrated by production folks who are totally getting fired … but come on, it’s Big Ben, and you laughed.”
