‘Glee’ To Welcome John Stamos Next Season

‘Full House’ and ‘ER’ alum will play a dentist who dates Emma and butts heads with Will. By MTV News staff John Stamos Photo: Getty Images Uncle Jesse is about to become the newest member of the Gleek nation. John Stamos, the former star of both “Full House” and “ER,” is set to take on a recurring role in the next season of Fox’s hit musical series “Glee.” “It’s true,” the show’s executive producer, Brad Falchuk, confirmed to E! Online . “Not sure how many episodes yet.” According to Entertainment Weekly, Stamos will play a dentist who begins dating his patient, the germophobic guidance counselor at William McKinley High School, Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays). On Tuesday night’s (June 8) season finale , Emma well mention that she’s started dating the guy she pays to clean her teeth, setting up Stamos’ arc next season. That story line will surely bring him into conflict with Matthew Morrison’s Will Schuester, the glee-club director who fans are hoping finally gets together with Emma for real. Word is that Will and Stamos’ characters will find themselves butting heads — and vocal cords — during a sing-off next season. Stamos might give Morrison a run for his money, as the “Full House” star has performed with the Beach Boys and appeared on Broadway in productions of “Cabaret” and “Bye Bye Birdie.” As E! Online pointed out, Stamos is actually not a total stranger to “Glee,” having popped up in a way last year. This past September, Emma delivered the zinger: “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star. I mean, look at John Stamos.” What do you think of Stamos’ casting? What other celebs would you like to see on the show? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos ‘Glee’ Season 1 Clips 10 on Top | Exclusive Interview: Cast of Glee Related Artists John Stamos

Drake Says He And Lil Wayne Are Planning A Joint Album

‘I went up to Rikers, and me and Wayne agreed that there will be a Lil Wayne/ Drake album,’ he tells MTV’s ‘Sucker Free.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Drake and Lil Wayne Photo: the305.com A Young Angel and Young Lion LP? It’s finally in the works, according to Drake. The Toronto MC said he and Lil Wayne spoke about a joint album when he visited the incarcerated star last week in prison. “I went up to Rikers, and me and Wayne agreed that there will be a Lil Wayne/ Drake album,” Drake told DJ Envy on MTV’s “Sucker Free.” ” … There’s some things I’m excited for in my life — I’m excited to go perform certain places — but [this project] will probably be one of the most exciting things in my life, because we make music on a different level. It’s just so fun, so comfortable. A whole album? To think about all the things we can do, especially if we’re gonna do 15 songs. Me and him don’t like to do 12, 13 [songs]. We want to do 15, 16. Yeah, Lil Wayne and Drake album.” Wayne is only featured once on Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later, which drops June 15. The Cash Money superstar and Drizzy collaborated on a number of projects in the past, including Drake’s mixtapes Comeback Season and So Far Gone, in addition to the Young Money compilation released last year. But this will be the first time the two MCs pair up for their own project. Last year, while on the verge of inking his deal, Drake told MTV News about his career ambitions and said Lil Wayne would be a part of them for a long time. “I plan to work with Wayne for the rest of my career, so I think it’s a smart career move,” he said. “You know, everybody else [on Young Money] will hopefully work out the situations, get the right people on the album. I think it was important for me to show him that I believed in him as much as he believed in me. Because a lot of months, he stuck his neck out there for me, you know with the VMAs [where Lil Wayne rapped Drake’s verse from ‘Money to Blow’ at the beginning of his performance of ‘Misunderstood’] and then ‘Ransom,’ and all the songs that we put out. And the things he would say in interviews, he really put himself out there for me. So I think it was only just and fair to show him that I feel the same way.” For more Drake, check him out with DJ Envy on the road for Sucker Free Summer at Hartford, Connecticut’s Hot Jam 9 this Sunday at noon on MTV2. DJ Khaled Tells How He Ignited Hot 97’s Summer Jam

‘I wanted to come with 20 minutes of straight excitement,’ superstar DJ says of guests Cam’ron, Rick Ross, Fat Joe and more. By Shaheem Reid DJ Khaled, Fat Joe and T-Pain Photo: Walik Goshorn The man behind “All I Do Is Win” left the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with a “W” in his back pocket on Sunday. DJ Khaled’s set was the highlight of Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert , as he orchestrated one of the greatest onstage artist lineups in the history of the now-legendary annual event. “We brought out Cam, Busta, Joe Crack [a.k.a Fat Joe], Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Vado, Ludacris, myself,” Khaled said. “And I brought Barrington Levy out. We made a movie. I wanted to come out there with 20 minutes of straight excitement from beginning to the end. I just wanted to go bah, bah, bah!” the DJ said of wanting to bring the element of surprise to the Meadowlands crowd. “Every artist on the bill is superstars. I was thinking to myself, ‘What am I gonna do?’ Because [so many of] the artists are already on the bill. I had to pull out cards like the Barrington card, the Busta card, the Killa [Cam] card. That’s hip-hop man.” Khaled let each of his guests rock the stage for a short while. But no one got a bigger response than Harlem’s own Cam’ron, who made his return to SJ for the first time in more than three years. Killa came out to his classic “I Really Mean It.” Khaled’s set ended with a nod to his current hit, the remix of “All I Do Is Win.” More than 50,000 people did as it says on the chorus: They put their hands up — and kept ’em there. ” ‘All I Do is Win,’ to see the whole stadium put their hands in the sky,” Khaled marveled on his set highlights. “And of course when Cam’ron came out, you felt that New York energy. That was important to be in New York. Then when Crack came out with that ‘Ha Ha’ and of course Ricky Ross broke the new record onstage … ‘Super High’ and ‘[Blowin’ Money Fast] B.M.F.’ This is just a movie man. It’s hip-hop. This is what I’m talking about.” Trey Songz, Usher, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Gucci Mane and Juelz Santana were also among those who performed at this year’s Summer Jam. Meet Stephenie Meyer’s New ‘Eclipse’ Vampires In ‘Bree Tanner’

Several newborns from ‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner’ could appear in the ‘Twilight’ film on June 30. By Terri Schwartz Stephenie Meyer’s “The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner” Photo: Hachette Book Group With so much attention on the fact that “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” swept the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, it is almost easy to forget that there was another exciting “Twilight”-related event this weekend: the release of “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” on Saturday. If you couldn’t get your hands on Stephenie Meyer’s new novella in the store over the past two days, it’s available to read online for free from Monday (June 7) until July 5 at BreeTanner.com . “Short Second Life” is more than just a companion story for “The Twilight Saga.” Meyer gave Jodelle Ferland and director David Slade the backstory of this character, so it seems pretty certain that some of Bree’s side of the story will make its way into the film when it opens on June 30. While Bree and Victoria’s henchman Riley were characters that readers met from Bella’s perspective in “Eclipse,” “Short Second Life” introduces a few key members of the newborn army that may get some screen time in the upcoming film. Bree Tanner After running away from home because her father beat her, Bree was so hungry, all Riley had to do was promise her a burger to trick her into becoming a vampire. She’s not sure if she was 15 or 16 when she was turned, three months before the battle in “Eclipse.” Raoul and Kristie Of the twenty-odd newborns Bree is living with in “Short Second Life,” these are the two that are most likely to appear in the movie. They each lead their own “gang” of newborns, with Raoul controlling most of the male vampires and Kristie directing most of the females. Neither is physically described in the book, so it’s not clear exactly what they look like, but from the exclusive photo MTV received of the newborns following Riley out of a body of water, it can be inferred that they are the male and female vampires flanking him. Freaky Fred The two newborns that Bree befriends in “Short Second Life” are a bit less likely to make it into the final cut of “Eclipse.” Fred, a tall, muscular vampire with curly blond hair who Bree guesses to be around college-age, has the special ability to be able to repulse those around him, and can slip by unnoticed by making it so that no one can lay their eyes on him. He protects Bree this way and leaves the rest of the newborn pack before they confront the Cullens in the final battle. Diego The clear-headed newborn teams up with Bree early on in “Short Second Life” and the two develop a chaste but sweet romantic relationship over the course of one day. Diego is older than most of the others (by a few months) and not as savagely driven by his thirst. He’s described as having “dark, dense, curly hair, big, wide eyes and really full lips,” and — like all of Meyer’s vampires — he’s very, very pretty. SPOILER : His second life barely lasts longer than hers does, and he doesn’t make it to the final battle against the Cullens. A few other newborns named in the novella: Kevin, one of Raoul’s lackeys, and Sara and Jen, who follow Kristie. None of them received physical descriptions in the novella, so unless they are referred to by name, it will be hard to pin them down amid the rest of the army. There is also a vampire whom Bree calls “the blond Spider-man kid” because he talks about the comic book hero and climbs walls like him in one scene. As anyone who has read “Eclipse” knows, Victoria’s army doesn’t fare well against the Cullens, and neither does Bree. Still, her novella offers a unique opportunity for fans to get to know those that had once just been nameless enemies, making for a more poignant battle when the third “Twilight” film hits the big screen starting June 30. Ice Cube Says ‘Put Your Money On’ L.A. Lakers In NBA Finals

The West Coast MC and superfan roots for the purple-and-gold, gripes about unreliable refs. By Shaheem Reid Ice Cube Photo: MTV News Legendary West Coast mic enforcer Ice Cube is excited that the NBA Finals are upon us, but he feels that there may be something shady going on to make sure the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics series is extended as far as it can go. MTV News recently talked ball with Cube, and he insisted his beloved Lake show are the superior team, but the Cs may have some help from the boys-in-stripes, making some shady rulings inevitable during game play. “It’s gonna take [NBA Commissioner] David Stern to stop telling these refs how to ref these games,” Cube said, when asked what he thought it would take for the Lakers to repeat as NBA Champions. “I don’t know if they telling them how to ref these games, but it’s just ridiculous sometimes when I see these refs making sure that the series is extended. Games are leaned towards this team or that team. Every year is the same old dance. Everybody can pick two or three games where you knew the league had their hand in it.” True to Cube’s gripes, there were several questionable calls made during Game 2 of the finals Sunday night at the Staples Center, home of the Lakers. Even the team has had their complaints in the past about the finals officiating. Despite the refs’ calls, Cube said he felt confident his team will triumph over Boston, just like they did over the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals. “What about the Celtics?” Cube asked with a grin. “They can’t beat us four times without help either. They need help from the refs too. Did you see Game 2, when we played them in the finals that year [2008]? Game 2 was ridiculous. Ridiculous! It’s the same thing. It ain’t about the series. It’s about ‘Will it go to Game 6 or Game 7?’ That’s all the league care about.” Still, Cube said it’s purple-and-gold — all the way. “You sound like you got some doubt,” he said like the superfan he is. “Let me put that to rest. We got the team to win it all this year. Put your money on the Lakers.” The Lakers and Celtics play Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night. Who are you rooting for in the NBA Finals? Trey Songz, Drake Heat Up Summer Jam, But DJ Khaled Steals The Show

Usher, Juelz Santana, Gucci Mane, Reflection Eternal and Fabolous also deliver at Hot 97’s annual fest. By Shaheem Reid Trey Songz performs during Hot 97 Summer Jam on June 6 Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage One of the most anticipated moments of Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert on Sunday night was one that was unadvertised, though all the fans felt it was a foregone conclusion: the reunion of the New York rap giants the Diplomats. Juelz Santana was on the bill with his first solo set, but instead of bringing out the members of his unit, he brought out the youngest member of the G-Unit, Lloyd Banks . They made for one of the strongest moments of the night with their smash “Beamer, Benz or Bentley.” But what happened to the Dip’s reunion? One source close to their camp said Jim Jones had some issues with security and police and was not granted entrance in the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Freekey Zekey and Cam’ron came out later in the night as part of DJ Khaled ‘s show-stealing set. Hot 97 advertised that Khaled would be bringing out “friends,” and no one knew what to expect. Well, if you follow the Miami multi-tasking, up-and-coming mogul, you would have to suspect that he’d bring out Rick Ross . The two down-bottom mayors are thicker than Starsky and Hutch. Plus, Ross and Khaled did interviews together on Hot 97 earlier in the day. Khaled’s set started with his “All I Do Is Win” remix. Rolling deeper than two football teams, Khaled paraded out T-Pain (who sang the hook) and Busta Rhymes , who unleashed one of the most stylistically bulletproof verses of the year. Ross and Ludacris took the spotlight over on the “I’m So Hood” remix, and Busta regained the reins on his fresh new bopper “Stop the Party.” Rick Ross saluted the playas with “Super High” then continued with the “Angels” remix and his new club stomper “Blowin’ Money Fast (B.M.F.).”

Rick Ross Talks ‘Window Seat’ Remix Video With Erykah Badu

‘We continuing where the first ‘Window Seat’ ended,’ Ross tells MTV News. By Shaheem Reid Erykah Badu bled the words “group think” in her critically acclaimed (but nonetheless controversial) “Window Seat” video , but that wasn’t the end of her journey. Badu recently shot a video for the “Window Seat” remix with Rick Ross . “I had to come get the queen,” Ross said about the video. “They had her boxed up.” The clip starts with Ross coming to get the Grammy-winning songstress from jail. “It was only right. I was swerving through Dallas in that Porsche Panorama turbo. I had to slide up on her, scoop her up. We got back to business. We went on another caper. “It’s basically, we continuing where the first ‘Window Seat’ ended,” he added. “Where she was assassinated and ultimately scooped up and arrested. We continuing from there. She’s got a dope cut on her album called ‘Get Money.’ Y’all need to download and check it out. It’s the next single. And it’s the bridge between the assassination, going into the ‘Window Seat’ remix, me doing my sh–. Then we ultimately going into ‘Get Money,’ which I feel is my favorite record off of [New Amerykah Part Two: Return of] the Ankh. ” Like she did in the original video, Badu came up with the concept and directed it with Creative Control as the cinematographers. “She most definitely is a super talented individual,” Ross said. “Of course she’s extremely beautiful. It’s hard to look into her eyes for too long. She’s so sweet. Just to see her creativity. She also directed the video along with her team. To see her vision, just to see her work ethic. She’s like me. We filming to the wee hours. It’s real big. She’s the definition of a strong woman. I’m proud for her to be a strong black woman, just to see her so hands-on with her career. From the producing of her music to the writing of her music. The entire process of her writing her entire album all the way down to directing her videos and editing. For me to be sitting here while she’s [filming the video], doing what she’s doing, the singing. And she’s also checking the angles. It was like, ‘Wow.’ I never knew that. I knew she was super talented and so hands-on and in charge of her entire project. She gets the ultimate boss look.” What do you think of the “Window Seat” remix with Ross? MC Hammer ‘Honored’ That Rick Ross Named A Song After Him

‘I don’t know nobody that named their record after another hip-hop artist ever,’ he tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid and Jayson Rodriguez MC Hammer Photo: Getty Images The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Black Mafia Family’s Big Meech, Chicago street legend Larry Hoover and hip-hop’s supreme stage commander MC Hammer — Rick Ross salutes a few OGs on his new mixtape, The Albert Anastasia EP. “Bi—, I’m MC Hammer, I’m about cream,” Ross raps on “MC Hammer.” “I got 30 cars/ A whole lot of dancers, I take ’em everywhere/ I’m MC Hammer.” The stage great behind pop-culture explosions such as “Can’t Touch This” and “Pray” said he loves the tribute. “We’ve been back and forth on the tweets, but my thing is one thing only: face to face, man,” Hammer said. “I’m hollering at him face to face. I’m heading to Miami. You saw the tweets, and the bottom line is, it’s a very unique thing for a cat to use your name. I don’t know nobody that named their record after another hip-hop artist ever. The name of the record is ‘MC Hammer.’ That’s crazy. For an artist of Ross’ caliber, that’s a whole ‘nother thing. Arguably, right now, he’s the hottest dude in the game. He’s spitting fire. For a cat on that level, with his skill set, to have a record called ‘MC Hammer’ and do it the way he’s done it, because it pays a lot of respect and homage to what I laid down, you can’t help but be honored by that.” “MC Hammer,” as well as Anastasia ‘s “Blowin’ Money Fast (B.M.F.),” heated up the clubs in Miami over Memorial Day weekend and has had a steady presence in the streets since the tape came out last week. Hammer said he’s humbled by the Bawse’s show of respect. “I done got every award that a man can get in the music business — every one. I got ’em all. Diamond awards, Grammys, American Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards — you name it. Everything that you can do and every accolade you can receive. But that record that Ross did is on the level of all that. That’s how it feels to me.” Hammer, who also said he loved Ross’ “2 Legit 2 Quit” reference in “Mafia Music,” said he’s down to shoot a video for Ross’ theme song but is keeping quiet about any ideas he and Ross might have for the clip.
