Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Album To Debut At Top Of Charts

Record is projected to sell upward of 250,000 units in its first week, according to Billboard. By Jocelyn Vena Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Photo: Jive Despite his headline-making outburst following an interview with “Good Morning America,” for which he later apologized in an interview with BET’s 106 & Park, it seems that Chris Brown’s latest release, F.A.M.E. , is slated to jump to the top of the charts next week. According to Billboard , the album will sell approximately 250,000 to 300,000 copies by the time the week ends. It marks the first time Brown has had one of his albums debut at #1. His previous efforts, Chris Brown, Exclusive (2007) and 2009’s Graffiti, debuted at #2, #4 and #7, respectively. Brown’s overwhelming chart success may come as a surprise to experts, who believed that given all the negative headlines this week, Brown’s behavior may have turned off potential fans. “I definitely think this is a huge step back for him,” Ian Drew, senior music editor at Us Weekly, said. “It was a huge mistake. You control how you react. He didn’t react the right way. “[But] there’s always a way back … My advice to him would be: Just don’t do any interviews and put out a strong record and let it speak for itself,” Drew continued. “Let the music do the talking. Let that be the statement.” Brown isn’t the only new release on the charts next week. Jennifer Hudson’s I Remember Me will hit the charts at #2 with around 160,000 units projected to be sold. The Strokes, who released their first new album in a half a decade, may potentially debut at #3, selling around 90,000 units with Angles . Adele , who held the top spot with her album 21, will be bumped to #5, with Kirk Franklin’s Hello Fear hitting #4. Britney Spears’ ‘GMA’ Tickets Auctioned Off For Japan Relief

Fan paid more than $1,000 for VIP passes to Spears’ performance this Sunday in San Francisco. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Britney Spears is doing her part to try and help those affected by the tragic events in Japan. The Femme Fatale singer donated two tickets to her “Good Morning America” taping this Sunday in San Francisco to a local area radio station who then decided to use them for some good. Bay Area radio station Wild 94.9 got their hands on two VIP passes to the show, which they in turn put up for auction, with proceeds going to the Salvation Army . By the time the auction closed on Wednesday night, the winner had bought their spot for $1,136. Spears will be in in San Francisco this Sunday to pre-tape her “GMA” appearance, which will air on Tuesday — the day that her Femme Fatale album drops. Spears was originally slated to perform in the Castro district at midday, but due to potentially wet weather conditions, the show has been moved to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium . ‘GMA’ host Robin Roberts, who interviewed Chris Brown earlier this week, will be on hand to chat with Britney for the segment. “Good morning, America,” Spears said, her voice sounding a bit low and hoarse, in a promo for her ‘GMA’ gig that aired late last month. “I’m excited to tell you on Tuesday morning, March 29, I’ll be performing for the first time ever in a special concert in San Francisco … on ‘Good Morning America.’ And I promise you it’ll be a morning to remember. See you soon!” Spears also appeared in a second clip promoting the performance, in which she told fans, “Wake up with me. This is going to be so good.” Spears’ ‘GMA’ visit kicks off promo for Femme Fatale , which will include several appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” the week that the album drops. MTV will dedicate this Tuesday to the femme fatale herself for what is being dubbed a “Britney take-over” day on the network. Additionally, Spears will make an appearance on the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on April 2, though there is no word on whether she’ll be performing, presenting or just getting slimed. For more information on what you can do to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan head to MTV Act , or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Brad Womack and Emily Maynard: Is It Over?

Are The Bachelor’s Brad Womack and Emily Maynard over already? If OK! Magazine says so, it must be true, right? Mmmyeah not so much. This fine publication has had Jen Aniston pregnant or adopting about 18 times. You have to take with a boulder of salt their report that Emily’s engagement ring , conspicuously still on last week, is now NO LONGER on. Scandal! The magazine goes on to say that the “romantic version of Brad and Emily” is all for the cameras, and they’re “pretending for the sake of The Bachelor brand.” What nonsense. That brand has less credibility than this magazine. Sure, it’s a fun show and we love it too, but let’s be real. One marriage. 15 seasons. In real life, a staffer from the show, who may or may not actually exist, has revealed exclusively to OK! that Emily has broken up with Brad – for GOOD! “There have been so many breakups and make ups – mostly over the phone or Skype,” a source said. “Finally, Emily told him she can’t do this anymore.” Well, consider us convinced … or not at all. Don’t get us wrong, it wouldn’t shock us if they broke up, we’re just not buying this account for one second. Brad and Emily: Will it last?

Crystal Harris: Cheating on Hugh Hefner With Jordan McGraw?

Is Crystal Harris cheating on fiance Hugh Hefner with Jordan McGraw, son of that blowhard Dr. Phil? What could possibly trigger such a ridiculous rumor? The fact that she’s 24 and Hugh is 84, possibly? Just an idea. Reports say the lovebirds (Crystal and Jordan) were cozy at the Chateau Marmont in LA on March 14 and that she’s “trying to keep the romance low-key.” Too bad “Jordan didn’t hide his affections, kissing her shoulder and trying to hold Crystal Harris ‘ hand – still adorned with a 6-carat engagement ring.” Jordan McGraw is the younger of that bloviating windbag Dr. Phil’s two sons. The older one, Jay, is married to Playboy model Erica Dahm, interestingly. But anyway. Jordan and Crystal “are sneaking around because Crystal is supposed to be happily engaged to Hef,” a source tells Life & Style . “Going out in public with Jordan would tarnish Hef and Crystal’s image.” We don’t really see how. She’s obviously going not dating Hef for his virility. Just putting that out there. Will they even make it to the altar? June 18 is the wedding date. A Playboy representative says Jordan and Crystal’s relationship is strictly business … the business of BONING! Just kidding. Well, probably. Really we wouldn’t be surprised either way.

Chris Brown Still on For Dancing With the Stars

ABC appears willing to forgive and forget when it comes to Chris Brown. Despite Brown’s meltdown on Good Morning America this week, the network said it will not be filing a criminal complaint against the singer, who is still set to perform on the popular Dancing With the Stars next Tuesday night. Both are huge breaks for a guy whose career needs all he can get. Should DWTS pull the plug on this dude? Although he kept it together on-air, Brown stormed off the GMA set after anchor Robin Roberts asked him questions about his 2009 assault against Rihanna. Despite okaying this beforehand, he then reportedly retreated to his dressing room where he broke a window with a chair, tore his shirt off and peaced out. While he escaped without any legal or direct career ramifications, some fans and rival network execs are not happy with ABC’s decision to let him do DWTS . “This sort of behavior is not acceptable from anyone no matter how talented or famous they might be,” a well-placed network executive told PopEater. ” Dancing With the Stars is one of the biggest shows on TV, and if they allow him to promote his music on it, he should definitely be asked to apologize.” Some fans are even contacting ABC directly via email to thwart his performance, but for now, it looks like he’ll perform on the results show as planned. Whether he does or not, this can’t be the press Chris hoped for when his new album, F.A.M.E. , dropped this week. Guy really needs to pull it together. As we said earlier, if Chris really wants to turn things around, he should look no further for inspiration than another fallen, recovering star: Michael Vick .

Has Chris Brown Ruined His Chance At A Comeback?

Singer’s ‘GMA’ outburst may hinder his ability to gain new fans, experts say. By Jocelyn Vena Chris Brown Photo: Jason Kempin/ WireImage As details begin to bubble to the surface about Chris Brown’s “Good Morning America” outburst, fans and the media are wondering if he ruined his chances at the musical comeback he’d planned to have with the release of F.A.M.E. on Tuesday . “Of all the places not to have a public meltdown!” Popeater.com correspondent Rob Shuter told MTV News about the chair-throwing fit he reportedly threw after “GMA” host Robin Roberts brought up his 2009 assault of Rihanna . “It shows you his level of arrogance and stupidity. He has proved he has temper tantrums and is a violent person, which is exactly what we were talking when he hit Rihanna. What he did yesterday confirmed what an out of control fellow he is.” Ian Drew, senior music editor at Us Weekly, thinks that this will certainly have an effect on his album sales. “I definitely think this is a huge step back for him,” he said. “It was a huge mistake. You control how you react. He didn’t react the right way. He showed in one breath that he still has a huge temper and he can’t control himself. He just ruined everything he had built up again. He chose to act up that way and now he’ll bear the repercussions.” So what’s next? “I think the fans that stuck with him through Rihanna will stick with him through this,” Shuter said. “What isn’t going to happen is he’s not going to be able to grow his fanbase. … I think you say sorry and put out good work. You can come back. He has to apologize now. He has to be an angel, I think. Now, for the rest of his life, he has to be careful. He is young, but he’s had every advantage, and I think that’s what makes people angry: To have all these advantages and still mess it up is very hard to forgive.” “Good Morning America” has asked the star to appear on the show again, but Drew believes that instead, Brown should take a rest from his promotional plans. As of press time, Brown hadn’t accepted the show’s offer to appear again. “There’s always a way back, anyone can. My advice to him would be: Just don’t do any interviews and put out a strong record and let it speak for itself,” Drew said. “Let the music do the talking. Let that be the statement.” Related Videos Chris Brown’s Epic Album Release Day Related Photos The Ups And Downs Of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Album Release Week Related Artists Chris Brown
