‘Eclipse’ Star Makes Plea For MTV Movie Awards Votes!

Jackson Rathbone tells Twilighters, ‘We’ve got a lot of heavy competition this year.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — Hard-core Twilighters don’t need a reason to vote for “Eclipse” at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , but if you’re torn, co-star Jackson Rathbone has some great reasons why you should help the third movie in the “Twilight Saga” take home some trophies at the show on Sunday. “We’ve got a lot of heavy competition this year — some Oscar winners, some amazing films, some amazing actors,” Rathbone said, reaching out to Movie Awards voters this week. “We’re just lucky to be in … contention, but y’all can help us out and go online and vote.” “Eclipse” is up for eight awards at the big show, including nods in categories like Best Movie, Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, Best Breakout Star, Best Fight and Best Kiss, which has Kristen Stewart nominated for kissing both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson ( Le scandal! ). And Jackson had one more push for the flicks. “Go out and vote and help us out. We need your votes,” he added. The “Twilight Saga” has had a quite a streak in recent years, taking home nearly 10 Golden Popcorn statues in all. And there’s a good chance the latest film will do well this weekend, when it will be up against a slew of other big flicks like ‘Inception” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” and “Eclipse” stars will compete against A-listers like Emma Watson, Zac Efron, Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg, to name a few. “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke recently told us she was excited to learn that the David Slade-directed film is nominated for so many Movie Awards. “I think it’s great. I love it that people are so passionate about it and that people are really into it and following the characters,” she said when we chatted with her about the June 14 DVD release of “Red Riding Hood.” “I think it’s a great tribute, obviously, to what [author] Stephenie Meyer created. … Rob and Kristen and everybody’s been able to just keep it going and keep people loving it all this time, and, of course, all the directors, everybody. I think it’s awesome. It’s great.” Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Jack Black, Seth Rogen Offer MTV Movie Awards Advice To Jason Sudeikis

‘Don’t go halfway,’ Black tells the 2011 host before Sunday’s big show. By Jocelyn Vena Jason Sudeikis Jason Sudeikis is mere days away from taking the stage at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, to host the 2011 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday. We’re pretty sure he doesn’t need much advice — since he keeps the audience in stitches week after week as a castmate on “Saturday Night Live” and is bound to have everyone laughing in the summer comedy “Horrible Bosses” — but if he does need some last-minute words, MTV News caught up with some other funny guys to help out. “Don’t go halfway. Oh here it is: All of the f—ing way,” said Jack Black, who co-hosted the Movie Awards with Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2002. “That should be his mantra.” Need shorthand for that? Black added: “AOTFW.” While Seth Rogen seemed to be a little jealous of Sudeikis’ gig, he did have kind words for the host. “I don’t think he needs our advice,” Rogen said, with pal Danny McBride by his side. “I’ve been jockeying for that gig for 10 years, and he got it.” But what about some more advice from someone who’s been there before? Andy Samberg , who hosted the Movie Awards back in 2009, shared with MTV News some key steps to ensure a successful hosting gig. “What advice can you give to a guy that has it all? Be yourself, grab ’em by the scruff of the neck and don’t let go,” he advised. “Wear a nice suit. Hydrate. Crunches. Make sure ‘Twilight’ wins everything so the crowd is lively. Rig the results!” Another former host, 2010 emcee Aziz Ansari , had some different advice for the actor/comedian. “It’s so much work, so definitely have a lot of uppers on hand, like just drugs that’ll get you fired up,” he joked. “PCP is good to stay up all night, get all the work done. It’s a cool thing, though; it’s back in vogue. It’s like Twitter, PCP. It’s like trendy things: Twitter, PCP, Jonas Brothers.” The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Kristen Stewart Vs. Herself: Celebs Pick MTV Movie Awards’ Best Kiss

Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner? Before Sunday’s show, we ask which smooch should come out on top. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart Photo: Larry Busacca/ Getty Images Kristen Stewart got to lock lips with both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” and it seems like all the — cough, cough — hard work paid off: Both smooches are up for Best Kiss at Sunday’s 2011 MTV Movie Awards . We went straight to Stewart’s fellow celebs to ask: Which lip-lock should come out on top? “Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham knows a thing or two about hot supernatural guys, and she has a very strong opinion about which kiss rules in “Eclipse”: “I love Taylor Lautner,” she gushed. “He could be making out with a hamburger, and I would be like, ‘Best kiss ever!’ ” Olympian Johnny Weir also seems to be a member of Team Jacob. “Taylor Lautner in that movie was, you know, rocking the sex,” he exclaimed, most likely referencing Lautner’s ever-present abs in the franchise. “X-Men: First Class” actress Rose Byrne is leaning toward Team Edward when it comes to the kisses, even calling out Pattinson’s fan-favorite nickname: “I think it will be RPattz.” Elle Fanning, whose sister Dakota stars in the “Twilight” flicks, concurred with Byrne, reasoning that Stewart’s Bella is “marrying Edward, so you sort of have to pick Edward.” “X-Men” hottie Michael Fassbender might not know Edward from Jacob, but he did pick one of the actors over the other. “I’m just going to go with Robert,” he said. Hilary Duff kept it right in the middle with her choice. “You’re really going for all the tough questions, aren’t you?” she teased. “In the first movie, it was better with Edward, and I think [then] it was better with Jacob,” she said. “Was that politically correct?” Stewart’s “Eclipse” kisses are up against Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“Inception”), Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1”) and Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis (“Black Swan”). ‘Art Of Getting By’ Stars Bring ‘Relatable’ Film To MTV’s Sneak Peek Week

‘I just loved the dynamic between all the different characters,’ Emma Roberts says during Q&A session. By Jocelyn Vena Elizabeth Reaser, Emma Roberts and Michael Angarano at the MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week screening of “The Art of Getting By” Photo: Frank Micelotta / PictureGroup WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — At the Pacific Design Center on Tuesday night (May 31), the stars of ” The Art of Getting By ” assembled for MTV’s Sneak Peek Week , and they opened up about the New York City set of the coming-of-age dramedy. The film follows a set of New York teens as they embark on the real world and attempt to make grown-up decisions and say goodbye to their adolescence. The audience seemed to connect to the film’s drama and comedy, especially relating to the heart of the story as George (played by Freddie Highmore) attempts to change his image from careless slacker, win the heart of Sally (Emma Roberts) and embrace his talent as an artist. The film’s leading lady, Emma Roberts, confessed that she signed on thanks to her feelings for her character Sally. “I just loved the dynamic between all the different characters,” she said. “To me, I related to her personally.” Of shooting in New York, she gushed about the chance. “New York is a fun place to shoot, but it’s definitely hectic.” Roberts’ onscreen love interest, Michael Angarano, added, “I think [director] Gavin [Wiesen] wrote it in a way that made it very relatable. It’s definitely an authentic movie about a very specific time in your life. My least favorite part of the script was that [my] Dustin character was so unlikeable. He probably thinks he’s wiser than he probably is.” Elizabeth Reaser jumped at the chance to play Sally’s mom, who is very different from her character in “Twilight.” “It was the script, and then I feel in love with the characters,” she said. “I was fascinated by someone who would behave like this. “It was very exciting [to play this kind of mom]. . All those things were fascinating to me,” she added. “I think she’s a really good mom. I think she loves her daughter.” Stick with MTV News all week as we gear up for Sunday’s Movie Awards with a Sneak Peek Week screening and live-stream Q&A session every night this week. Taylor Lautner, Justin Timberlake Vie For ‘Best Line’ MTV Movie Award Nods

‘Eclipse,’ ‘Social Network’ stars and more may snag nominations in the new category as voting begins today. By Eric Ditzian Taylor Lautner in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit New MTV Movie Award categories come and go. Best Kiss has been around since the beginning (“My Girl” co-star Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin were the inaugural winners in 1992), while Sexiest Performance and Best Virtual Performance lasted just a year (congrats, Jessica Alba and Gollum!). For the 2011 show, one new category joins the field: Best Line From a Movie . Folks like Justin Timberlake (“Social Network”), Taylor Lautner (“Eclipse”) and Leonardo DiCaprio (“Inception”) will compete to make the final list of nominees. We should add, however, that we’ve seen something like this before. For two years at the turn of the millennium, we presented a category called Best Line. Robert De Niro won that first year for asking Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents,” “Are you a pothead, Focker?” The next year, “Legally Blonde” star Reese Witherspoon triumphed for delivering this line to Selma Blair: “Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated.” While comedic movie lines won twice in the past, there’s no telling what’s going to happen this year. Potential nominees are both young (“Grown Ups” star Alexys Nycole Sanchez: “I want to get chocolate wasted!”) and, well, not as young (“Tron: Legacy” star Jeff Bridges: “You’re really ruining my Zen thing”). There are laugh lines (“With no power, comes no responsibility,” Aaron Johnson said in “Kick Ass”) and deadly serious ones (“If you guys were the inventors of Facebook, you’d have invented Facebook,” Jesse Eisenberg declared in “The Social Network”). A few quotes are a little too dirty to print in full (“It’s in the shape of a giant co–,” cracks Chlo

Lindsay Lohan Reportedly Fails Drug Test

Actress could face 30 days in jail. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lindsay Lohan (file) Photo: Pool/ Getty Images After wrapping up jail and rehab stints, Lindsay Lohan might not be completely in the clear. The troubled starlet has reportedly failed a drug test, according to TMZ . Although the actress was released from jail early, only serving 13 days of her 90-day sentence, before staying in rehab for 23 days, Lohan was held to several conditions after her release. Lohan was ordered to submit to random twice-weekly drug and alcohol tests in addition to attending a 12-step program, participate in at least four psychotherapy sessions a week and attend behavior therapy sessions twice a week. If she fails a drug and alcohol test, she is required to return to jail for 30 days. Despite her recent legal drama, Lohan has maintained that she does not have debilitating issues with drugs and alcohol. The actress was ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet in May after missing a mandatory court hearing, which went off at an MTV Movie Awards afterparty. The alarm prompted a California judge to issue a warrant for Lohan’s arrest and double her bail, although Lohan’s lawyer later insisted her client tested negative for alcohol. In a pre-jail interview with Vanity Fair, the actress insisted she wasn’t struggling with addiction. “If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [SCRAM] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking — so that says something, because I was fine,” Lohan said. “I think everyone has their own addictions and hopefully learns how to get past them,” Lohan said, insisting that most of her issues stem from her strained relationship with her father. “I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life.” Related Photos The Highs And Lows Of Lindsay Lohan Lindsay Lohan Goes To Court Related Artists Lindsay Lohan
