Emma Watson Puts On Her Best American Accent

British actress tells MTV News how she mastered the accent in ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower.’ By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards in Universal City, California. Photo: WireImage Are you tired of watching the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” trailer yet? Neither are we! Luckily for all of us, MTV News spent some time with the very likable cast at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday in order to glean a few tidbits about the movie , like lovely British actress Emma Watson ‘s first time speaking in an American accent on film. When asked how she mastered the foreign-to-her dialect, Watson thanked her co-stars, Ezra Miller and Logan Lerman . “I had these guys,” Watson said, gesturing to Miller and Lerman as her accent tutors. “These guys were very supportive and they told me when I said things that didn’t really sound right. I worked with a coach and I hung out.” “You hung out!” Miller laughed. “She hung out, that’s how she did it. She hung out.” We decided to put Watson on the spot and test her skills with a request to repeat the following phrase in her best American accent: “Ryan Gosling is so hot.” She did not disappoint, repeating the phrase with gusto. “That was really good,” both Miller and Lerman agreed. Based on the novel by Stephen Chbosky (published by MTV Books), “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” follows high school freshman Charlie (Lerman) as he learns to navigate adolescence with the help of new friends Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Miller). The movie opens everywhere September 14. Chris Brown Debuts High-Grade ‘Till I Die’ Video

In the weed-inspired clip, Breezy parties with Big Sean, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa, set to perform at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. By Rob Markman Chris Brown’s “Till I Die” video feat. Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa Photo: Sony Music Entertainment The 9-to-5 grind can be a real drag, even for superstars like Chris Brown . To take the edge off, Breezy dons a suit and tie and throws a good old fashioned smoke party with Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean for his “Till I Die” video, which he released online Wednesday night. Brown’s self-directed clip starts in a run-of-the-mill office with maze-like cubicles, boring brown corkboards and a nasty old water cooler. It’s all pretty mundane, that is until a rapping Chris pops out of nowhere, tripping the mail guy and encouraging a Sarah Palin look-alike to photo-copy her bare bottom. “A n—a gonna be faded all the way ’til the a.m.,” Brown promises as his shift ends and he takes the elevator from the 420th floor to the building’s lobby with fellow stoners Wiz and Sean. The good times continue to roll when Snoop Dogg, along with a few lucky ladies, comes to pick up his homeys in a yellow, old-school convertible. “More drink, pour it up/ More weed, roll it up,” Sean raps while Brown harmonizes “I’m high” in the background as they ride through the streets of L.A. The happy rappers eventually reach their destination, a foggy frat house with thick, billowing smoke, tons of snacks and fellow marijuana enthusiasts Method Man and Redman, who present Wiz with a golden bong. “Till I Die” was actually Khalifa’s second weed-inspired video of the day. Earlier Wednesday, the Pittsburgh spitter dropped a clip for “The Grinder,” a jazzy smoke tune from his Taylor Allderdice mixtape . Fans can catch Khalifa performing during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards at 9 p.m. ET, introduced by none other than Charlie Sheen . For Brown, “Till I Die” is a far cry all of the other videos he’s released from his upcoming Fortune album. “Turn Up the Music,” which has amassed almost 40 million views on YouTube, is a heavy dance number, while “Strip” finds Chris in the middle of a sexy house party. The Virginia singer’s sultry love-making ode “Sweet Love” comes with a video to match, but “Till I Die” is a fun and welcomed departure from it all. Not that we condone that sort of thing. What do you think of Chris Brown’s “Till I Die” video? Tell us in the comments. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ Unlike Any ‘Twilight’ Movie, Kristen Stewart Says

During MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week, KStew explains why the final film of the saga left her ‘shell-shocked.’ By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Even with one enormous summer blockbuster a week away from release, Kristen Stewart excitedly discussed the conclusion to the “Twilight Saga” at a MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week event for ” Snow White and the Huntsman .” ” Breaking Dawn – Part 2 ,” which won’t hit theaters until this November, surely ranks among one of the most anticipated films of the year, and Stewart counts herself among those eager to see the finale. “I’m excited. I have to see it done,” she told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. “I haven’t seen it. It’s a big deal.” The story for the final “Twilight” will take the story in an intriguing different direction as Bella adjusts to life as a new mom and a new vampire, no longer the plain Jane every-girl. Stewart told MTV News that the change makes for a surprisingly different movie experience. “It’s so bizarre, the tone change. You’ve always been behind her. You’ve always been using her. She’s how you see that world,” she said. “Now that her perspective has completely changed, it’s like ‘Where am I?’ It’s really cool. I, myself, am still a little bit shell-shocked. It’s not like sitting down and watching a ‘Twilight’ movie.” From the sounds of it, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” will likely have more than a few award-worthy moments, much like “Part 1”. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be returning to the MTV Movie Awards , airing this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, to defend their long-running legacy as the Best Kiss champions, along with several other nominations for “Breaking Dawn – Part 1”. MTV Movie Awards Celebrate Dirtbags In New Category

Jon Hamm, Jennifer Aniston among the deliciously despicable characters up for Best On-Screen Dirtbag award. By Kevin P. Sullivan Jennifer Aniston in “Horrible Bosses” Photo: Warner Bros. While the MTV Movie Awards are all about celebrating the best from the past year in film, they’re also about shining a light on the very worst. This year, we’re introducing a brand-new category for all the deliciously despicable characters: Best On-Screen Dirtbag. We’ve broken down all the nominees in the category below, but it’s up to you to vote one member of this detestable quintet to the podium to collect his or her Golden Popcorn. We will all find out who the worst of the worst is this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET live on MTV. Bryce Dallas Howard – “” If an on-screen dirtbag does his or her job properly, naturally the audience will beg for some comeuppance. Without a doubt, none of this year’s love-to-hate-’em nominees got it worse than Bryce Dallas Howard’s horribly racist Miss Hilly. Apparently, revenge is a dish best served in the form of a chocolate pie made out of human feces. Colin Farrell – ” Horrible Bosses ” Even if it weren’t for the cocaine addiction and his propensity for firing those that “creep him out,” Colin Farrell’s character in last summer’s hit comedy “Horrible Bosses” may have ended up on the short list for On-Screen Dirtbag for that comb-over alone. Sometimes a poor choice of hairstyle can be just as bad as a person’s behavior. Jennifer Aniston – ” Horrible Bosses ” There’s nothing wrong with a small workplace crush as long as human resources has been notified, you keep your conversations work-appropriate, and you don’t spray your co-worker’s pants with water in order to see the outline of his junk. Jennifer Aniston’s character in “Horrible Bosses” did not heed any of these rules as she aggressively tried to seduce her dental hygienist, played by Charlie Day. Jon Hamm – ” Bridesmaids ” Sure, he might seem like a great guy. He’s rich, and hell, he looks like Jon Hamm, but Ted is not a man you want to be around. He does that thing that can only be described by Kristen Wiig as she drags that back of her limp hand across her face. It’s not pretty. Oliver Cooper – ” Project X ” Sometimes dirtbags are funny. One of our nominees this year, Oliver Cooper of “Project X,” has the distinct honor of earning nominations for both Best Comedic Performance and Best On-Screen Dirtbag. And that’s the beautiful balance that Costa strikes. Yes, he’s going to turn up the speed on the treadmill that you’re running on, but you’ll probably laugh about it later. ‘Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ Trailer: What’s That Song?

MTV News introduces you to Imagine Dragons and their catchy tune from the film, ‘It’s Time.’ By Kara Warner Imagine Dragons Photo: Paul Zimmerman/ Getty Images How perfectly engaging and intriguing is that “Perks of Being a Wallflower” trailer ? We’ve been thinking about it and re-watching it since its debut during our 2012 MTV Movie Awards pre-show, and the one thing that we can’t get out of our heads — in addition to all those great visuals and actors — is that catchy song playing in the background. The song is “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons . For those who have yet to discover this buzzworthy band from Las Vegas, get thee to downloading more of their infectious, lighthearted tunes. Since forming in Vegas in 2009, Imagine Dragons have had to work their way toward their recent success, a voyage that has certainly had its share of ups and downs along the way. “I remember one gig [where] we were playing a casino in Vegas, and it was a really small stage,” guitarist Wayne Sermon recalled during an interview with MTV News recently. “We played a four-hour set — we’d do those two to three times a week — and we were exhausted, and [frontman] Dan [Reynolds] passes out in the middle of the last song, falls on the drum set, the drums go everywhere, and it was horrible, but we finished the song.” “And all these drunk guys were like, ‘Wooo!’ ” Reynolds laughed. “But it didn’t hurt; I was so tired, it was sort of nice to have a little break.” The band has finally started to see the fruits of their labor, with “It’s Time” climbing the charts, the debut of their music video and plans to begin work on their first full-length EP. But they aren’t letting any of that go to their heads. “It’s crazy. We’ve been a band for three years, living on the road, eating bean burritos every day, and we’re still eating bean burritos every day, but it’s been incredible to see the support that we’ve gotten,” Reynolds said. “We really owe so much to our fans who, from the very beginning, have been sharing the music. And we live in a world where things can happen so quickly, and we’re glad we’ve had three years to really prepare. … We’ve been doing it for a little while, and it feels good … and right.” Jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, gut-busting moments galore. Johnny Depp Honored With MTV Generation Award At Movie Awards

Before accepting the award, Depp joined the Black Keys onstage to perform ‘Gold on the Ceiling.’ By Terri Schwartz Johnny Depp Photo: Getty Images UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Talk about a grand entrance. Aerosmith rock gods Steven Tyler and Joe Perry walked onto the MTV Movie Awards stage to congratulate a “truly revolutionary artist,” an actor who has become a rock star in his own right. Johnny Depp was the recipient of the MTV Generation Award , joining the prestigious ranks of Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood and Godzilla. Depp joined the Black Keys on stage to perform a rousing rendition of “Gold on the Ceiling” before going on to accept his award. “I’ve got to thank MTV for this. This is quite an amazing honor, truly. It’s like the Get-Out-Of-The-Business Award, ‘All right, you’ve done too much.’ Clearly, based on the clips, there’s nothing wrong with me,” Depp said when he received his Golden Popcorn. “I just thank you very much. And it’s an honor to be presented by these two legends, Steve and Joe, and these up and coming legends, [The Black Keys], so thank you very much.” This has been a big year for Depp. “21 Jump Street” was nominated for six MTV Movie Awards, including one for Depp himself. In addition, he reunited on the big screen with Tim Burton to create their passion project, “Dark Shadows.” But the Generation Award is less about Depp’s last year and more about his legacy. From when we first saw him die brutally in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” to when he won us over as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean,” we’ve known he was a star worthy of our attention. Next year will be big for the three-time Golden Popcorn winner as well. We’re excited to see him transform onscreen yet again, but this time as sidekick Tonto in Gore Verbinski’s take on “The Lone Ranger.” And there’s always the planned fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie and inevitable reunion with Burton to look forward to in the future.
