Bradley Cooper Named People’s Sexiest Man Alive

Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling and Liam Hemsworth also make 2011 list. Bradley Cooper Photo: Alberto E. Rodriguez/ Getty Images Bradley Cooper may find himself in a hot-guy hangover this morning. On Wednesday (November 16), People named the movie star 2011’s Sexiest Man Alive . Beating out the likes of Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, George Clooney and Liam Hemsworth, the 36-year-old actor tells the magazine he’s a bit surprised by the recognition over his good looks. “I think it’s really cool that a guy who doesn’t look like a model can have this [title],” he said. “I think I’m a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times, I look horrifying.” He added, “I’m waiting for Dax Shepard to come out, and that it’s an episode of ‘Punk’d.’ ” This year has been kind to the actor, who starred in blockbusters like “The Hangover Part II” and “Limitless.” Though he is currently single, Cooper has been linked to some of Hollywood’s A-list ladies including Renee Zellweger and, most recently, Jennifer Lopez. Of his bachelor status, he said, “If you’re a single man and you happen to be in this business, you’re deemed a player. But I don’t see myself as a ladies’ man.” These days, the woman who might be most excited to learn about his status is the one and only Mrs. Cooper. “First thing I thought was, ‘My mother is going to be so happy,’ ” the actor shared. Cooper’s not the only mama’s boy on the list. Evans also opened up about his mom in the issue, saying, “We’re incredibly tight. Mom can hang — she’s on the level.” And, humility certainly seems to be a trait shared by many of the hotties on this year’s list. “Community” star Joel McHale had this to say about making the list: “I made it because there were a lot of people who were out of town.” Do you agree with People ? ‘Breaking Dawn’ Sex-Scene Song Inspired By Edward

Sleeping At Last’s Ryan O’Neal calls submitting ‘Turning Page’ for the soundtrack a ‘shot in the dark,’ in ‘Twilight’ Tuesday. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Summit We’re back again for another “Twilight” Tuesday , our recently resurrected weekly column dedicated to anything and everything popping in the house that Stephenie Meyer built. Not that we’ve been lacking content this month, since “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1” opens this week, but there’s always something to spotlight. This week’s special subject: the lucky artists on the soundtrack. When you’re associated with any of the “Twilight” films, no matter in what capacity, it’s kind of a big deal — particularly if you are an emerging artist on the music scene and one of your songs is selected to be part of the “Breaking Dawn” soundtrack . That dream recently came true for singer/songwriter Ryan O’Neal from Sleeping At Last when he found out his song “Turning Page” made the final cut. “I wrote ‘Turning Page’ about six months ago, and it was something I felt I really wanted to be from Edward’s perspective,” he told MTV News recently, after a special concert performance for the fans camped out before the premiere in “tent city.” “I thought, ‘That makes sense,’ and things just kind of layered on itself. And after the first few piano chords, I felt like that was where I wanted to go with it. So then I sent it in, which was a total shot in the dark. I hadn’t heard anything [for a while], so I was pretty sure it was a no-go. And then a couple months ago, I got a call and was told it was in some of the parts of the film.” In exactly what parts of the film does his song appear? When Bella is walking down the aisle and during the highly anticipated sex scene. Can you imagine sending in a song as a “shot in the dark” and then finding out that it is featured in not one, but two scenes? And not only that, but those two scenes happen to be two of the most important in the movie? O’Neal is a lucky duck. A hugely talented and deserving one, that is, and very appreciative. “I’m still kind of wrapping my head around the whole thing,” O’Neal said. “I’m so, so privileged. I can’t even believe it.” What would you like to see on “Twilight” Tuesdays? Hit me up @KaraWarner on Twitter to make your voice heard! Nikki Reed Compares Her Wedding To ‘Breaking Dawn’

‘What Bella says to Charlie is exactly what I said to my dad,’ ‘Twilight’ star reveals about her wedding to ‘American Idol’ alum Paul McDonald. By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed in “Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment For the legions of “Twilight” fans, the year’s biggest wedding is only a few days away, with “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” hitting theaters Friday. But for Nikki Reed , who plays Rosalie in the films, her biggest wedding took place about a month ago when she married former “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald on October 16. While promoting the film, Reed has had to field a number a questions about similarities between Bella’s wedding in the film and her own real-life wedding. “People have been asking, just because I just got married, ‘What’s the difference between your wedding and Bella …?’ — the whole comparing thing,” Reed told MTV News. It wasn’t until Reed actually saw the finished film that she discovered a similarity between the two weddings. “I saw the movie last night for the first time, and what Bella says to Charlie is exactly what I said to my dad right when we were going to start walking down,” she revealed. “She says, ‘Don’t let me fall,’ and I was wearing these high shoes and walking down this cobblestone hill, not a smooth glide to the altar. I kept saying to my dad, ‘Please, don’t let me fall. I’ll just take my shoes off. I don’t need to walk in shoes.’ He’s like, ‘It’s going to be OK.’ ” With her wedding came the question of whether Reed will change her surname to “McDonald.” Reed said she likes the idea for her personal name, but wasn’t sure if she’ll change her stage name. “I don’t know what I’m going to do. I feel like there’s something really nice about that, changing your name,” Reed said. “I think it’s sort of traditional, and I’ve never been a super-traditional gal, but I think it’s nice.” She did express some concern over the name and referenced her husband’s own problems with it. “He told me that he didn’t think anyone was going to marry him for that exact reason [of his last name],” Reed said. “I think it’s kind of nice, though. ‘McDonald’ is a good name. It’s strong. It feels strong and beefy.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Twilight’ Trio Should Do A Comedy, Taylor Lautner Says

‘Our relationships together are quite hilarious,’ he tells MTV News of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images LOS ANGELES — ” The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 ” black carpet was a bittersweet experience for fans of the series, as it marked the penultimate “Twilight” premiere. But leading man Taylor Lautner was only looking to the future when he caught up with MTV News during the live stream of the event. In fact, he wasn’t even looking at the “Breaking Dawn” films as being the last time he’d be in a film with his co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart . Sure, there’s nothing more we as fans would love than for Lautner to star in another movie with Robsten in the near future, regardless what the genre was. But the 19-year-old “Abduction” star has one specific type of movie in mind for their movie reunion: a comedy. “If I did a film again with them, I’d like to do a comedy. A super, super funny movie,” Lautner said. “I think they’re funny, especially when they’re together. Our relationships together are quite hilarious, so it would be a funny movie, for sure.” So would it end up with him taking his shirt off again? “If the role requires it and I’m in love with it, then we’ll see,” he said. Fortunately for fans of Lautner’s now-famous set of abs, his shirt apparently comes off within the opening minutes of “Breaking Dawn.” He might not be the biggest fan of the attention he gets for his sexy bod nowadays, but it seems like he’s willing to take it off to keep the fans happy. After all, they certainly have shown their dedication to the “Twilight” franchise. “I don’t know if I could think of one thing,” Lautner said when asked what he’ll remember most from the “Twilight Saga” red carpets. “But the obvious thing to think of is all of these fans, them showing up again and again. Last year when they came out, they camped out for days. I thought, ‘That’s amazing. There’s no way they’ll do it next year.’ Sure enough, they did it. It’s unbelievable.” Stick with MTV News as we roll out even more from our “Breaking Dawn” premiere live stream! ‘Hunger Games’ Fans ‘Freaking Out’ Over New Trailer

‘There were lots of tears,’ one superfan tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate Another week, another trailer debut! Last week, we got excited about Kristen Stewart’s intensity in “Snow White and the Huntsman” ; this week, it’s all about the first full-length “Hunger Games” trailer . MTV News contacted a few of the book and film adaptation’s biggest fans for their instant reactions to seeing Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) in all their first-trailer glory. “It’s pretty incredible,” said Sara Gundell of Examiner.com . “This is probably the most excited I’ve been about this movie since I don’t know when.” “We had a little treat. We got to go down to Lionsgate a few days early and we got to see the trailer there,” revealed TheHob.org ‘s Megan Scott. “So we’ve been freaking out for three days now,” added Hob colleague Amanda Belcher. “We’ve been absolutely freaking out,” Scott agreed. “The first time I got to see it, I was crying — and I’ve never cried before with a trailer,” admitted Arianna Ruiz of HungerGamesDWTC.net . “It’s just so emotional and it’s so wonderful to see my favorite book brought to life, and I’m sure it’s the same for everybody else as well.” “There were lots of tears,” Scott said. “Yes, lots of tears, [during] the reaping scene especially,” Belcher added. “We all teared up. How could you not with Katniss screaming and you see Primm being carried away? But I think we were tearing up over the excitement of finally seeing this and how good it really is.” While Gundell is still skeptical of how faithfully director Gary Ross and company will adapt Suzanne Collins’ best-seller for the big screen, the trailer has helped alleviate a few pre-conceived fears. “I’m still cautious going into ‘The Hunger Games,’ but after seeing the trailer, I’m about 10 times more optimistic than I was beforehand,” she said. “It definitely has raised my hopes.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hunger Games.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Immortals’: The Reviews Are In!

While many critics marvel at the visual spectacle of the Greek flick, others decry Tarsem Singh’s ‘style-over-substance exercise.’ By Kevin P. Sullivan Daniel Sharman and Isabel Lucas in “Immortals” Photo: Jan Thijs If recent Greek movie history has taught us anything, it’s that the men of myths and legends had some killer ab routines. “Immortals” continues the tradition started by “300,” but will the new film find the same magic that made the Gerard Butler flick such a huge success? Critics see the similarities, namely in the brains (or lack thereof) department. While it may not be the smartest picture on the block, most seem to agree “Immortals” is actually quite beautiful. Here’s a rundown on what the critics have to say about the movie, which hit theaters on Friday (November 11). The Story “Alas, the movie makes next to no sense. It involves, in a very broad sense, the attempt by King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) to conquer Greece, and the battle to stop him led by a plucky peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill). … But a lot of the time I had no idea what was going on. Characters would turn up for the first time, seem terrifically important, and disappear. If at many moments I had stopped the film and asked anybody around me, ‘Who is that, and what are they doing and why?’ I think they’d have been stuck for an answer.” — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times Henry Cavill “Henry Cavill, cast as Superman in Zack Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel,’ next year, plays Theseus, a peasant who leads a rebellion against the wicked King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke, the highlight of the film). Muscular, oily and full of resentment, Cavill makes a fine perturbed peasant, though he’s got a tough bill sharing the most scenes with Rourke.” — Scott Bowles, USA Today The Direction “Tarsem Singh’s first two films, ‘The Cell’ and ‘The Fall,’ were shallow but exquisite displays designed almost entirely to show off his extraordinary artistry. With ‘Immortals,’ Singh finally acknowledges that he’s making movies, rather than just beautiful moving pictures. In his ostentatiously unconventional take on ancient Greek history, he gives us fully fleshed characters and a compelling (enough) plot, plus all the action an epic requires. And, true to form, it’s also the most gorgeous film of the year.” — Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News The Costumes “The most eye-catching creative contribution consists of Eiko Ishioka’s sometimes striking costume designs, which not only functionally differentiate the assorted factions but often pop the eyes even against the colorful backgrounds.” — Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter The Final Word “Absent a compelling narrative, the spectacle alone may be enough to survive opening weekend, only to see returns for this style-over-substance exercise wither over the following weeks. — Peter Debruge, Variety Check out everything we’ve got on “Immortals.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
