Mila Kunis Thinks ‘Friends With Benefits’ Relationships Can Work

Co-stars Bryan Greenberg, Patricia Clarkson aren’t so sure. By Amy Wilkinson Mila Kunis Photo: MTV News In spite of the rather raunchy, nearly naked ad campaign for “Friends With Benefits,” the movie’s all-star cast, including Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, turned up fully clothed at the romantic comedy’s world premiere Monday night at New York City’s Ziegfeld Theatre. But on a hot, sweltering night devoted to celebrating no-strings-attached relationships, the topic of sex came up early and often. So, of course, we had to ask the film’s stars if they thought a friends-with-benefits relationship like the one depicted in writer/director Will Gluck’s July 22 release could really work long-term. “Not in my life because I’ve tried it and failed miserably,” laughed Bryan Greenberg, who plays one of Kunis’ suitors. For the most part, Greenberg’s co-stars were of the same opinion. Jenna Elfman, who plays Timberlake’s sister, said, “I’ve been with my husband for 20 years, so I haven’t first-hand attempted a friends-with-benefits lifestyle.” But she still had her reservations: “I really, frankly, don’t think it’s workable.” “For some people, yes; for me, not so much,” Patricia Clarkson agreed. Even Gluck, the film’s writer/director, admitted he thinks it’s an impossible undertaking. “I think the scenario works very briefly and in college — everyone else is kidding themselves.” The sole dissenter was Kunis, who said it all depends on your definition of “works.” “Sure! I mean, you get upgraded or downgraded; it switches and takes different positions. You get promoted, or you get fired.” Do you think a friends-with-benefits relationship can work? Will you see the flick? Tell us in the comments! MAM-erican Idol Jennifer Lopez Takes on Racy Nude Roles

Newly single superstar Jennifer Lopez , who divorced husband #3 Marc Anthony just last week, is announcing her availability to the world by taking on a duo of daring- and potentially nude- roles. J-lo has kept her jugs safely inside her top since her boob-baring turn in U-Turn (1997), but now, 14 years later, she’s set to play potential mother-to-be Holly in the movie adaptation of the popular pregnancy book What to Expect When You’re Expecting . In the script, Holly bares her boobs for her husband (played by Rodrigo Santoro ) to try to convince him to adopt a baby boy. She’s also signed on for a role in the crime movie Parker , and the script calls for Jennifer, as sexy real estate agent Leslie , to do a skintillating striptease for Jason Statham . Could this mean the long-anticipated movie debut of Jennifer’s juicy $27 million caboose? Skin Central just hopes Jenny from the Block doesn’t cock-block our nude hopes!

‘Harry Potter’ Star Emma Watson Will Be Back Onscreen Soon

‘My Week With Marilyn’ and ‘Perks of Being a Wallflower’ are the first two post-‘Potter’ projects Watson lined up. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson Photo: Jim Spellman/ WireImage We hope Emma Watson has already digested her post- “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” brunch. Because now that she’s finished the project that virtually defined a decade of her life, the actress has plenty to look forward to. The 21-year-old starlet did just a few non-“Potter” acting roles during her time with the franchise, only separating herself from Hermione long enough to star in the 2007 BBC film “Ballet Shoes” and lend her voice to 2008’s “Tales of Despereaux.” Now, she has wrapped her first two post-“Potter” films and is excited for people to see her outside of a “Harry Potter” capacity. Up first is the Michelle Williams-starring adaptation of “My Week With Marilyn,” based on Laurence Olivier’s assistant’s account of spending time with Marilyn Monroe (Williams) while she was filming “The Prince and the Showgirl.” Watson plays a character named Lucy who goes on a few dates with leading man Eddie Redmayne. It’s a minor role for a small film (which is slated for release this November), but it’s garnering a lot of attention because of Watson’s involvement. “I’ve seen a trailer for it. It looks pretty amazing,” Watson told MTV News at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. “I mean, Michelle is an incredible actress, and Eddie Redmayne is also in it, so he did a great job.” But her upcoming film that’s getting the most buzz is the Summit Entertainment adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s coming-of-age novel, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.” Watson plays Sam, the love interest of main character Charlie (played by Logan Lerman). It wrapped shooting several weeks ago, and Watson told us at the Movie Awards that the expectation was to turn it around and get it released quickly. “It’s so funny because I never thought I’d make another sort of high school-esque movie, and here I am in this coming-of-age, American teen [movie],” she said. “But it’s very witty, and it’s very funny and it’s very moving, so I’m excited.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Danielle Panabaker Gets to the Meat of Piranha 3DD

It’s no secret that Mr. Skin is a huge fan of Piranha 3D (2010)- he even gave it the Anatomy Award for Breast Picture of 2010. We’ve been ravenous for news about its sequel, the titillatingly titled Piranha 3DD , which recently finished filming in North Carolina. So we were licking our lips when we saw that sequel star Danielle Panabaker , breast known for her roles in the horror remakes Friday the 13th (2009) and The Crazies (2010), sat down with Fearnet to give them the scoop on the upcoming boobs n’ bloodbath. A man after Skin Central’s own heart, the skinterviewer promptly got down to the meat and chest potatoes of the story: Piranha 3D was all about the T&A and the blood. Can we expect more of the same? You can expect exactly the same! I don’t know that we went through quite as much blood as they did in the first one. Our set was more confined, since it was in a water park instead of Lake Havasu. There is lots of T&A. From my first scene, there is a lot of that going on, and it just continues throughout. It will not disappoint. So does that mean you are nude in this one? No. Absolutely not. I do spend a fair amount of the movie in my bikini, though. While we’re disappointed that the feisty flesh eaters won’t be chewing through Danielle’s bikini, Skin Central still has faith that Piranha 3DD will contain a smorgasbord of chest cutlets and seat meat to sink our teeth into come October. At least we hope so- we can’t be held responsible for Mr. Skin’s actions if it doesn’t. While you’re waiting for Piranha 3DD , check out all the ass-tounding nudity from Piranha 3D right here at MrSkin.com!

‘Harry Potter’ Expected To Smash Box-Office Records

‘Deathly Hallows, Part 2’ could break $158.4 million opening-weekend record of ‘The Dark Knight.’ By Gil Kaufman Daniel Radcliffe and Ralph Finnes in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. It takes a powerful wizard to defeat “The Dark Knight,” but based on early media reports, all indications are that the final episode in the onscreen Harry Potter saga, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” is on track to beat the $158.4 million opening-weekend record set by “The Dark Knight” in 2008. Thanks to a combination of breathless, nostalgic anticipation for the last installment in the series, a raft of sold-out midnight screenings on Thursday and higher ticket prices for the first 3-D installment in the $6 billion franchise, experts are predicting that a series of records could fall by Sunday. According to the Los Angeles Times , thanks to 10,000 midnight screenings on Friday (July 15) and nearly sold-out IMAX shows through Saturday, the movie had already rolled up an estimated $45 million box office by Thursday before the doors had opened for a single showing. To put that into perspective, that’s a shade under the $53 million that “Green Lantern” made over the course of its entire opening-weekend last month. “Potter” is opening in 4,575 theaters in the U.S. and Canada, and Deadline Hollywood predicted that based on the early tracking, it could smash the “Dark Knight” high-water mark and possibly reach $180 million in opening-weekend grosses. Another record almost sure to crumble is the biggest single day ever, which was set by “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which pulled in $72 million, a figure that could be eclipsed (pun intended) by an estimated $80 million that “Hallows” is projected to collect between the $40 million in midnight screenings and an additional $40 million on Friday. Look for “Hallows” to also take the biggest foreign opening-weekend crown, a record recently set by “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” which boosted $260 million earlier this summer. “Potter” studio Warner Bros. expects the film to smash that figure, though it’s unclear if it will be able to beat the worldwide seven-day opening-gross mark set by “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” which raked in $402 million in its first week in June. A good sign, though, is that “Hallows” has already broken records Down Under. The Hollywood Reporter noted that following its midnight opening on Wednesday, it took in more than $7.4 million in its first 24 hours in Australia, smashing the previous mark of nearly $1.8 million in the first 24 hours for “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘Harry Potter’ Finale Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

Before saying goodbye to the series, check out our handy guide. By Terri Schwartz Daniel Radcliffe in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. It all ends Friday (July 15), as “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” marks the last time a “Harry Potter” movie will premiere in theaters. Almost a decade ago, MTV News was writing about how “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” had beaten Eminem’s “8 Mile” at the box office and about the exciting news that Gary Oldman, known as Count Dracula at the time, had joined the cast of “Prisoner of Azkaban.” Our news coverage of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” began three years ago with the announcement that the big-screen adaptation of the final “Potter” novel would be split into two movies, and it’s strange to think that after all that time the film series has finally come to an end. To honor all the time we’ve spent covering “Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” we’re taking a trip into the MTV News archives to cover the entire history of the flick for our latest MTV News cheat sheet. Filming the Final Parts MTV News caught up with leading man Daniel Radcliffe in late 2009 when the cast was knee-deep in shooting both “Deathly Hallows” films, and he said that the set was “absolutely madness.” That makes sense considering the combined running time of both movies is around five hours and they feature some of the most emotional and climactic moments in the entire series. Radcliffe dreaded shooting the big scene where he walks into the forest to face Voldemort, while Tom Felton was really looking forward to filming the epilogue. When he finally did shoot the scene, Felton was lucky enough to have his real-life girlfriend Jade Olivia play his onscreen wife . But it was the final battle sequences that were most emotional for co-stars Evanna Lynch and Bonnie Wright , the former of whom was brought to tears by the scenes on set. Robbie Coltrane agreed with them, saying that they were among his favorite scenes in the movie. Composer Alexandre Desplat was chosen to create the score for the final film, and he chatted with MTV News about his creative process. Finally, on June 14, 2010, filming on the “Harry Potter” set wrapped for the last time . The Decision to Shoot 3-D But production wasn’t done yet. In keeping with the popular cinematic trend, the creative team behind “Deathly Hallows” decided to post-convert the film to 3-D . Producer David Heyman spoke to MTV News during 3-D week and said he was optimistic about the change, adding that he thought the films would be “even more epic” in 3-D. “Deathly Hallows, Part 1” didn’t end up getting converted in time, so “Part 2” marks the first time a “Harry Potter” movie has been released entirely in 3-D. There is also the hope that all the “Harry Potter” films could be converted to 3-D and receive a re-release. Getting the Epilogue Right Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and the cast of young stars who played the next generation of wizards were brought together again months after filming ended to reshoot the pivotal epilogue scene because the original scene that was filmed was not considered to be good enough. Felton was lucky enough to have his first time filming be done up to par, though, so he and Olivia did not have to shoot a new scene. A few other new stars, including Kelly Macdonald of “Boardwalk Empire,” were cast in roles that had to be added in post-production and became the final few castmembers to join the “Harry Potter” franchise. An early cut of “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” was screened to fans in February and was received well, reducing many viewers to tears. Radcliffe’s response to that news? “Good!” The Trailers Arrive The first “Deathly Hallows” trailer hit the Web on June 28, 2010, and it teased both of the final “Harry Potter” installments. It would be 10 more months before a trailer specific to “Part 2” premiered , and then new trailers came fast and furiously. Warner Bros. released one of the opening scenes from “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” back in April, and then MTV was able to premiere an exclusive clip from “Part 2” during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards that was received well by fans. Saying Goodbye to “Potter” The “Harry Potter” films have been released over the course of a decade, so it’s no surprise that the stars of the franchise are finding it hard to say goodbye. Watson planned on having a “really big brunch” after the last New York “Potter” premiere, while Grint walked out of the London premiere screening because the movie was too emotional for him. But the man finding it hardest to say goodbye is Radcliffe, who plays the series’ namesake. “I think that we proved in doing ‘Potter’ that you can bring integrity and perpetual growth to a franchise. It doesn’t have to be a law of diminishing returns after the first film comes out,” Radcliffe reflected to MTV News .
