‘Twilight’ Movie Awards Battle: Jackson Rathbone Picks Sides

Although it pains him, actor chooses between Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to take home the Golden Popcorn. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News Having a hard time trying to figure out who you’d like to win at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? “Breaking Dawn” star Jackson Rathbone is weighing in on his picks for Sunday’s big show, and he’s sticking with his Cullen brother Robert Pattinson to win it all. Rathbone is even staunchly Team Edward when it comes to Best Kiss, in which Kristen Stewart is up for getting it on with Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. “How do you decide which is the better kiss: Kris’ kiss with Rob or Kris’ kiss with [Lautner’s] Jacob? Taylor or Rob I guess is what it breaks down to,” he told MTV News earlier this week. “I’m gonna have to side with my brother and go with Rob there.” Rathbone even dove into why Bella and Edward’s kiss really resonated with him. “What is it about that kiss?” he pondered. “You know, to me, it was … a long time coming [and] that understanding between two lovers, and I think there’s a lot of pent-up sexual aggression there, being young and a vampire.” Not only does Rathbone have to pick between Pattinson and Lautner for Best Kiss; the pair are also splitting votes for Best Male Performance, going up against Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1”), Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) and Zac Efron (“Charlie St. Cloud”). Of course, those three guys don’t even count for Rathbone — it’s all about his “Eclipse” buds. “Best Male Performance? Rob or Taylor, once again this boils down to [them],” he said. “I love both guys … but I’m gonna have to once again side with my family and go Robert Pattinson.” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Jim Carrey Promises ‘Cutting-Edge’ Movie Awards Outfit

‘This is something I’ve created myself,’ the presenter tells MTV News. ‘I’m kind of Bruce Wayne in that way.’ By Kara Warner Jim Carrey Photo: MTV News The list of reasons why you should tune into the 2011 Movie Awards on Sunday seems endless at this point, from the sheer number of A-list celebrities attending to the show-stopping performances scheduled (Hello, Foo Fighters !) to the general unpredictability of MTV’s annual event. Carrey’s Movie Awards history is a storied one, the stand-out, of course, being his surprise, disguised appearance in 1999. Carrey also currently holds the title of most Golden Popcorn won, with 11 awards to his name. When MTV News caught up with the funnyman during promotion for his upcoming flick “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” we asked if he’d decided on his awards-show ensemble yet. “I’m wearing a suit that I’ve had made,” he told us. “It’s the latest in nanotechnology, so I’m able to project whatever I want on it. I’m going to be revealing that at the MTV [Movie] Awards,” he teased. “This is something I’ve created myself; I’m kind of Bruce Wayne in that kinda way. I have a lot of interesting and very cutting-edge technology that I work with and I want to unveil it at the Awards. “Wait until you see it,” he added with a smile. “It’s going to be amazing.” Carrey joins a superstar-studded list of presenters that includes Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Cameron Diaz, Leighton Meester, Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Jason Segel and Jesse Eisenberg. ’30 Minutes Or Less’ Stars Explain Taylor Lautner’s Rumored Cameo

Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson keep the rumor going at MTV’s Sneak Peek Week. By Eric Ditzian Aziz Ansari Photo: MTV News Ruben Fleischer, in his directorial debut, established himself as a savvy proponent of the celebrity cameo. Midway through 2009’s “Zombieland,” Bill Murray popped up in perfect out-of-nowhere fashion to steal some scenes and leave everyone wondering, “How’d they convince a comedy legend to dress up in zombie makeup and send up his own larger-than-life persona?” And when Fleischer embarked upon his second feature, the action/comedy “30 Minutes or Less,” rumors began to swirl that the director had done it again, albeit with a far younger Hollywood player. Last summer, the Web began to buzz with word that Taylor Lautner had dropped into the Grand Rapids, Michigan set to shoot a cameo. Could it be true? When MTV News visited the set a few weeks later, Fleischer’s lips were sealed when we asked about the Twi-cameo. On Friday night (June 3), at MTV’s Sneak Peak Week presentation of “30 Minutes,” it turned out that Lautner, in fact, was not in the film. So, during the post-screening Q&A, we put the question to Fleischer and stars Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson. “He’s in it!” Ansari said. Wait, what? Did we somehow miss the most famous abs in Hollywood? “He plays a bum,” Swardson chimed in. Or not. The whole thing, it turns out, was just a rumor. “I read that somewhere. I was like, ‘I didn’t know about that,’ ” Ansari said, before reconsidering. Perhaps the suggestion that the “Twilight” star shows his face onscreen can goose the film’s box-office prospects. “Let’s start that rumor,” Ansari cracked. “People like him, right? Just say he’s in the movie. ‘That Lautner cameo is dope, man! You gotta see that movie with Taylor Lautner!’ I’m just going to say that at the MTV Movie Awards. ‘Taylor Lautner’s in “30 Minutes or Less” Good night!’ ” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? ‘Teen Wolf’ Stars Promise ‘Blood, Shirtless Men And Mystery’

‘Get ready for the gnarliest show you can feast your eyes on,’ Tyler Posey says of show’s post-Movie Awards premiere. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Chris Kim Tyler Posey as Scott McCall in “Teen Wolf” Photo: MTV For fans of all things supernatural, Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards were made for you. Thanks to exclusives from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” and the big premiere of the new MTV series “Teen Wolf” right after the show, it’s all about sexy creatures of the night. So why should you check out the latest incarnation of “Teen Wolf”? Well, the stars gave MTV News some really convincing reasons. For one, Tyler Hoechlin said, “There’s a lot of mystery.” Crystal Reed added, “Two, there’s a lot of shirtless men,” and Tyler Posey added, “There’s a lot of blood, and that’s all you need in life: blood, shirtless men and mystery. Get ready for the gnarliest show you can feast your eyes on. It’s just going to be a really cool show.” With a werewolf and a pretty girl at the center of the romance of the show, it’s easy to make comparisons to “Twilight.” Posey happens to play a teen wolf on “Teen Wolf” just like Taylor Lautner, but he explained the big difference between his show’s wolves and, you know, those other ones. “We’re not the only werewolves here at the MTV Movie Awards. The kids from ‘Twilight’ also have a couple werewolves of their own, but do they match up to us?” he asked. “My argument [is], we will win in a fight because we have opposable thumbs and we can jab their eyes out, and what’s cooler than jabbing another werewolves’ eyes out?” Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT, from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
