Source: Splash / Splash News Record labels have no morals or scruples. Case in point, Tekashi 6ix9ine ‘s old recording home, 10K Projects, has reportedly offered the loose-lipped rapper a new deal worth up to $10M. Yes, the same Tekashi who dropped dime on his associates with the hopes of him being able to duck a potential 47-year sentence in order to walk free with time served, if all goes to plan. According to TMZ , the Brooklyn rapper will get the loot in exchange for two albums; an English and a Spanish language project. Last week, two of Tekashi’s former Nine Trey Blood associates were found kidnapping and racketeering charges , thanks in part to Tekashi Snitch9ine dropping all the dimes. The things is, Tekashi isn’t due to be sentenced until December. The judge may not be too keen on him potentially earning major moolah off his illicit behavior. There’s also the fact that him being a federal informant puts a permanent target on his back. God forgive something goes wrong as a consequence of his dry snitching, will the label be held responsible or accountable? Nevertheless, it seems Tekashi is intent on continuing his rap career . Good luck with that. — Photo: Splash
Source: Adriana M. Barraza/WENN.com / WENN Many people know Billy Porter for his Emmy-winning role as Pray Tell on the FX show Pose or his Tony-winning role as Lola in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots . But before he was owning the red carpet in skyscraping hats or glittering gold wings , he was crooning to some sophisticated lady friend for his 1997 music video “Show Me.” His powerful Tony-winning pipes were just as present in 1997 when he was hitting notes to the high heavens in honor of his buttery brown beauty. And yes, the song is also a bop. Watch Porter serve 1990s realness in the video below. The song is from Porter’s 1997 self-titled album , which also includes such gems as “True Love,” “Love Is on the Way,” and “I Am a Spy”. Although Porter has always spent much of his life on the stage playing in theater shows like Dreamgirls and Angels In America , Porter has also been providing his gifts to recorded music. Along with his self-titled album, he’s also released Billy Porter Presents: The Soul of Richard Rodgers in 2017 and the Broadway-themed albums At The Corner of Broadway + Soul in 2005 and Billy’s Back On Broadway in 2014. So once again, Mr. Porter isn’t new to this, he’s true to this. If we’re going by the 1997 bops alone, we need another adult contemporary R&B album. Tomorrow.

Source: Mondadori Portfolio / Getty Zahara Jolie Pitt , 14, is showing her career pursuits early. The daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is flexing her muscles as a jewelry designer. Don’t think of this as some side hobby. The Ethiiopian born teen has partnered with jeweler Robert Procop to release a line called Zahara Collection. Robert Procop is a designer favorite of Angelina Jolie, so I’m sure mom had something to do with this connection. In 2012, Angelina Jolie partnered with Procop on a collection titled Style of Jolie. Robert Procop is also the designer behind Angelina Jolie’s 16 carat engagement ring which Brad Pitt used to propose. Source: Franco Origlia / Getty Zahara Jolie Pitt debuted her collection at the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil premiere in Los Angeles, California on September 30th. She wore her self-titled jewels on the red carpet, consisting of three emerald cut pieces. She wore tear drop earrings, a bracelet, and a beautiful ring. To show off the yellow jewels she wore her braids half up, half down and chose a black satin gown. She’s growing into quite the beauty! The jewelry collection has citrine as the featured gemstone. However, it also includes white and pink quartz jewels and pink sapphire pieces. This sounds like red carpet perfection. If you think this is a money making idea, the daughter of the philanthropist is following in her mother’s footsteps. The press release revealed, “All proceeds from the Collection will benefit the Los Angeles-based House of Ruth Shelters, which provided transitional housing for battered women and children.” The Zahara Collection will be available at select Saks Fifth Avenue locations and other exclusive retailers in both the U.S. and Australia beginning in November. Source: Han Myung-Gu / Getty Rihanna has been with her billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jameel, for over two years now. The Saudi businessman is heir to the Toyota Motors fortune in Saudia Arabia and the Middle East. She recently admitted in an Interview Magazine interview with Sarah Paulson that she’s in love and in her recent Vogue interview , she added that she’s in a exclusive relationship. She revealed, “I’m actually in an exclusive relationship for quite some time, and it’s going really well, so I’m happy.” And while fans have been (im)patiently waiting for R9 , it seems that the Fenty Beauty and Fenty Maison founder may have wedding bells instead of beats, on her mind. She appeared in a Go Ask Anna video, where Rihanna and Anna Wintour ask each other questions, the singer was very quick to discuss what her dream wedding dress would be. She gushes to Wintour, “A collaboration between myself and [John] Galliano, off course,” she says. We would love to see Rihanna the bride! She has publicly discussed wanting children on numerous occasions; however, rarely discusses weddings and a marriage. Could this be a hint that the two are thinking of tying the knot? If a Rihanna Savage x Fenty fashion show is a production…imagine what the style icons’ wedding would be like! We can only hope and wish. Beauties, do you think we’re getting closer to a Mrs. Fenty? Polaris Hosts Test Drive In Southwest Oregon The southwest coast of Oregon is full of pine tree forests that stretch down to the ocean, sand dunes that go on as far as the eye can see and coastline that is so picturesque that it looks like it came out of a storybook. And it was the perfect backdrop for a three-day trip to test drive Polaris’ newest fleet of off-road and specialty vehicles. The vehicle maker invited a select group of media and tastemakers (like Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus and social media star Mapy) to test the new Slingshot – a three-wheeled convertible-style roadster, and the Rzr – a four-wheeled off-road vehicle – among the natural splendor. After checking into our hotel, the Inn At Fifth in Eugene, we spent the afternoon getting to know each other and getting outfitted with Polaris gear to get us ready to drive. Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty The next day, we drove to the coast, taking in the beautiful scenery along the way: rushing streams, the occasional farm, forests and open fields. We first arrived at the Spinreel Dune Buggy & ATV Rental in North Bend, where after a safety check, we piled into our Rzr’s and set out for the sand dunes. Cruising the dunes in the Rzr was a blast – especially riding the four-wheeler all the way up a dune and then careening down it. After a lunch of local Dungeness Crab at the Coos History Museum, we got into our Slingshots for the final drive of the day. The two-seater resembled a cross between the Batmobile and a motorcycle, and the convoy of our Slingshots driving through the streets and highways along the state’s coast turned heads wherever we went. Riding in the open air Slingshot with the music blasting was simply exhilarating. No wonder celebs like Chris Brown are fans. Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty We ended our trip by driving the Slingshots to the Heceta Head Lighthouse – a scenic spot that had its own beach – where put our feet in the water and snapped a group photo. This reporter had never experienced – or even considered – off-roading or specialty vehicles before, but after this trip, we realized that it can be an exciting soft adventure for the whole family and a thrilling way to see the country. Check out the video above for more from the trip.
Let’s get ready to rumble! Timothée Chalamet stars in a new battle for the crown movie called The King that is hitting Netflix later this month. Based on the Shakespeare play we see Timothée as King Henry V bicker and combat with his father for making England fight his unjust battles only to reluctantly take the crown once his father becomes ill. After that, a series of events happen that send the new King back to the battlefield to fight for his life. I had the opportunity to fly to New York City to sit down with the Oscar-nominated actor and the film’s director David Michôd to talk about The King. Chalamet broke down his process for rehearsing his loud monologues. “I just try to get the words down. I think it’s the kind of thing on the day, but I’m lucky enough to have done a lot of theater. I think I knew to do that speech in a hotel room but it was never going to be an authentic experience of the day of having 300 guys in front of you and trying to rile them up.” Timothee goes on to explain that he never yelled his dramatic war cry monologue prior to filming the scene. Then he shares a funny story about how all the extras in that scene didn’t understand English so they had no clue what he was actually saying. David who not only directed this film but also co-wrote it, broke down how they used a more modern language than the Shakespeare play while still keeping stellar wordplay for the actors, but the highlight of the entire interview was hearing Timothée Chalamet break down New York slang in order to describe The King on Netflix.
An 8-year-old third grader in Michigan was told she could not participate in school photos because administrators took issue with her braids which were intermixed with the color red. Marian Scott told CNN affiliate WILX she cried after she was told that she couldn't get her school photo taken because of the red extensions in her hair https://t.co/MsW1qU7fFJ — CNN (@CNN) October 9, 2019 Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news. ( Terms and conditions ). The student, a young Black girl named Marian Scott was sent back to class, while her parents who were informed that their child violated the school’s picture day policy at a later time. Marian attends the Paragon Charter Academy in Jackson, Michigan. Marian reportedly cried after the encounter because she felt singled out from her classmates, of course prompting an emotional reaction from her family. “All of this is uncalled for, they didn’t even call us,” her father Doug Scott said in an interview with WILX . “Marian didn’t leave the house, go on the street and get this done on her own, no – she’s 8 years old, we did this ourselves in our own home and there’s no way I felt like this would happen.” According to the school’s policy, children are not allowed to wear ” extreme hairstyles, and the preferred styles need to have more “natural tones,” or be more “conservative.” Anything outside of that range is not permitted. SEE ALSO: Feeling This Hairstyle? Toya Wright Chops Off Her Inches & Gets A Sleek Short Cut Scott further inquired about why his child was allowed back into the classroom if she held a style that was deemed inappropriate. “If she’s not a disruption to the class, then why is she a disruption to the picture?” he asked. According to the school’s policy, students are given one week to correct their hair if they are found to be in violation. On Monday Marian returned to school without the red hair in her braids. The family plans to have her photo retaken on November 12, WILX reports. Paragon Academy released a statement to NBC News saying, “We take great care to ensure our families are well-informed about this policy, and also work closely with students and their parents if there’s a concern.” The school’s policy leaves it open to a variety of interpretation when there are white administrators making decisions regarding what is deemed an appropriate hairstyle for students. Without full grasp, compassion, or an education on Black culture, moments like what transpired with this young girl will continue to happen. And she will undoubtedly suffer some form of trauma in relation to her hair. As we know, Eurocentric beauty standards are often held against Black children and begins at elementary school age. The discrimination continues all the way into adulthood and even on the federal level, as we see several states have adapted anti-discrimination policies in regards to the Black hairstyles we hold so near and dear to the culture.
