On this week’s Teen Mom, Maci Bookout signed back up for school, Farrah Abraham tried to do the same, and Amber Portwood was released from lockup. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra got into a tiff about him livin’ de life , but ultimately made up and made out. It’s all about priorities for the youngans. Let’s break down last night’s episode of Teen Mom , THG style! Maci decides to enroll in classes despite how “boring” they are. Plus 4 . Kyle breaks his kneecap in an apparent motocross accident. Minus 8 for the obvious pain, but Plus 10 because Maci didn’t miss class for his birthday. She did go to the salon, though, going “blonde and long” with platinum extensions. Plus only 2 , because she looks good, but she already was so cute naturally, and this is an “I’m available at the club” kind of appearance. “I don’t work anymore.” – Ryan Edwards. Did he ever? Minus 5 . The previews for next week show him – what else – partying. Hey, he’s got time. But Plus 3 because Maci tells him point blank he won’t have Bentley. Amber Portwood reflects on life in a cell: “Spending the night in jail sucked [and was] stressful on everyone.” It won’t be the last time. Minus 9 . She wants her mom in her life because “I’m not fully grown yet.” Know who is? Gary. That Aeropostale shirt says “Fully Grown” on the tag. True story. Plus 3 . Tyler is living it up, doin’ the club thang. A 21-and-under club (at least we’d hope so), because he’s not 45 like The Situation on Jersey Shore . Plus 4 . Catelynn goes from all in to “it’s not gonna work” on a dime. Ah, youth. Minus 3 . Step-siblings or not, these two really do seem happy together, so Plus 5 . Farrah decides to go to college in Fort Lauderdale now. Not that there aren’t good schools in South Florida, but face it, the beach was her priority. Minus 2 . She gives away her dog because caring for it was too much work. No word if her neighbor offered to take in Sophia as well. Just kidding. Mostly. Plus 5 . Farrah drops off her application at a school. We give it a semester. Minus 4 . At least the surroundings are nice. Waves (that scare the heck out of poor little) Sophia, the shirtless dudes waiting to ogle Farrah’s new chest, etc. Plus 1 . EPISODE TOTAL: +6. SEASON TOTAL: +7.
The infamous oak tree that Tiger Woods drove into that fateful night has met a fate similar to that of his golf career. It’s gone down hard. It was Thanksgiving night in November 2009 when Woods – hopped up on painkillers and reportedly fleeing Elin Nordegren – hopped in his Escalade and plowed into the tree, which sat in his neighbor’s yard. Well, new neighbors moved in recently and tore the thing down. The construction company that did the work on the property said the tree was in terrible shape ever since the crash. The new peeps decided to get rid of it in spite of (or perhaps because of) its status as a memento of Tiger’s affair with Rachel Uchitel . A new tree will be planted soon, according to TMZ . For now, though, there’s just a portable John sitting there, allowing workmen to relieve themselves on the very spot where Tiger Woods’ career went down the toilet. Downright poetic. [Photo: WENN]
According to insiders who spoke to TMZ, the actor confronted his neighbor because the latter was hanging towels outside his home. The neighbor tells authorities that Fisher grabbed him and choked him, but he managed to escape and call 911. The police soon arrived, this man was driven to the hospital and Fisher was arrested for felony battery. He was taken into custody and bail set at $50,000. David Fisher, who has starred on NCIS as Trent Kort since 2006, was arrested yesterday for an alleged

As Black musicals go it’s hard to go wrong putting Michael Jackson and Diana Ross in the same flick. But add to that Nipsey Russell and Richard Pryor and you have the makings of a classic. The Wiz , an ambitious re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz with an all Black cast , was filled with hidden messages (you peeped how Dorothy couldn’t catch a cab?) and wonderful music that has more than stood the test of time. Here are 5 Reasons we still “Ease on down the road.” 1) After talking to several people (and this is my own opinion as well), the overwhelming reason to watch The Wiz is the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson. He was perfect as The Scarecrow looking for a heart; sweet, vulnerable, a loyal friend–just as people close to Michael knew him in real life. Seeing him dance quadruple circles around Diana Ross as they “eased on down the road” induces chuckles…thinking of all that beautiful talent no longer with us induces a tear (or many). 2) The songs! I am serious when I say I still see references to the songs in The Wiz at least once or twice a week on Facebook, Twitter, or somebody’s blog. They transcend generations…my neighbor just told me her three year old daughter knows every single song in the film. “You Can’t Win”, “Home” (which you can’t help but cry on unless you’re made of stone), “Ease On Down The Road,” “He’s The Wizard,” and “Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News” are all classics for the annals of history. With just the songs alone, it is a film that a family that encompasses any age can enjoy. 3) The overwhelming excess of the 70′s embodied in the film. Where to begin? It was directed by Sidney Lumet, who I’m quite certain was paid a billion dollars to be involved. The screenplay was written by Joel Schumaker (yes, of the “Batman” franchise). New songs were written by the mighty duo of Ashford and Simpson and the freaking World Trade Center used as the set for “Oz”! Costumes were designed by Oscar De La Renta and Norma Kamali (the sweatshop girls working for the evil queen could have easily stepped off today’s runway in their finery) and at any given time there were up to 135 crew members actively working on the set, not to mention hundreds and hundreds of extras. For all the money that was obviously a blank check budget for the film, it has at the very least endured as a very, very solid Black film classic that everyone knows and loves. 4) The performances of much loved icons in our community. Yes, Diana was unarguably waaaay too old for the role of 24-year-old Dorothy. But once you get past that, you can see that she really tried to do the role justice. Michael Jackson–’nuff said. Lena Horne as Glenda The Good Witch…etheral and beautiful, a sight to behold; really, could you imagine anyone else playing that role? Nipsey Russell as The Tinman is the bridge from an older time that was full of tap-dance and soft shoe, and he is a treasure of a time capsule that helps us to remember that history, our history. Mabel King, the momma from “What’s Happening” showed us another side to her that we’ve never, ever seen with Raj or Rerun. And the carryovers from the Broadway play helped fill in the holes to help keep some of the charm and magic that made someone want to bring it to the big screen to begin with (for example Ted Ross as The Cowardly Lion). And Richard Pryor as The Wiz? Check and mate. 5) The message. In it’s unique way, The Wiz gave us a message that has been told since ancient times; everything you ever need in life is already inside of you, just waiting to be discovered. The Lion showed bravery by fighting for his friends, The Tinman showed heart by feeling sadness or sympathy for his friends, and The Scarecrow made all of the smart suggestions that propelled them forward. They were all so busy trying to get to someone that would get them all the easy answers, not for one second slowing down and realizing that what they were looking for they already had the entire time. Stars of ‘Fright Night,’ ‘The Help’ and more stop by next week for live interviews and exclusive clips. By Eric Ditzian Christopher Mintz-Plasse in “Fright Night” Photo: DreamWorks Each year, we jam 12 months’ worth of movie magic into just one day for the MTV Movie Awards . This time around, there’s simply too much Golden Popcorn goodness to contain, so we’re opening up things with a full five days of cinematic treats that we call MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week. Starting on Monday, May 30, and running through Friday, June 3, we’ll be bringing you exclusive looks at some of this summer’s hottest films, including “Fright Night,” “Horrible Bosses” and more. Each night at 11 p.m. ET, we’ll welcome a film’s cast onto MTV to present an exclusive clip. Then you can continue the live conversation with the stars online, as our own Josh Horowitz hosts an extended chat with the talent. As always, you’ll have the chance to ask the stars your own questions; just tweet at @MTVNews using the hashtag #SPW . It’s all building up to the Movie Awards themselves, which will be hosted by Jason Sudeikis and air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. On Monday, we’ll be sitting down with “Fright Night” star Christopher Mintz-Plasse and director Craig Gillespie for an early glimpse at this horror remake. Mintz-Plasse and Anton Yelchin play high school seniors who get pulled into their neighbor’s creepy world, eventually finding out that the stranger (Colin Farrell) is a vampire preying on the town. The next night, the stars and director of “The Art of Getting By,” a Sundance fave earlier this year, will be stopping by. Emma Roberts, Michael Angarano, Elizabeth Reaser and director Gavin Wiesen will introduce a clip, then stick around to discuss their indie about a lonely student (Freddie Highmore) and the unlikely friendship he strikes up with Roberts’ charismatic and complicated teen girl. Wednesday brings us what’s sure to be one of the funniest comedies of the summer. “Horrible Bosses” star Jason Bateman and director Seth Gordon will present an exclusive clip before diving into a chat about how Bateman and his onscreen cohorts hatch a plan to kill their nasty workplace superiors. Then on Thursday, Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard will jump into the action in support of “The Help.” Based on the #1 New York Times best-seller, the film stars Stone as an unlikely civil-rights activist in ’60s-era Mississippi. Finally on Friday, the folks behind action-comedy “30 Minutes or Less” will bring Sneak Peek Week to a close. Stars Aziz Ansari, Michael Pe
It seemed like for a few years, the world loved to hate Gwyneth Paltrow. Maybe it was the fact that she dated Brad Pitt, was BFF’s with Madonna , had a major envy-inducing bikini body, married a rock-star AND won an Oscar. Or maybe it was her horrific choice of baby names (Apple, anyone?) or the fact that she decided to pen a blog, teaching us mere mortals how we could improve our lives. In fact, come to think of it, it was probably the last one. GOOP, her blog, was universally panned, with one New York Times writer going in hard on the health and lifestyle blog, going so far as to suggest it should be renamed “ Learn From Me, Ungrateful Peasant .” In the last few years though, the public’s attitude to Gwyneth seems to have softened, whether it be through her appearances on smash hit “Glee” or the right amount of cred her friendship with Beyonce and Jay-Z has brought. And now we have one more reason to get off the “I hate Mrs. Coldplay” bandwagon. She recently interviewed none other than Jay-Z on GOOP , asking him about his new amazing website Life + Times , which covers everything from art, to music, technology, design, sports, leisure, and style, his favorite style (Marc Jacobs) and how he became the “the coolest man on Earth.” Of being the world’s coolest man, he replied; “I’m around great women, starting with my mom. Women keep men cool. The hotter the chick the cooler the guy … that sounds like a really bad rap line!” Very cool answer indeed, but I guess from the world’s coolest guy, what else did we expect? Closure, that unpopular C-word that leaves otherwise sane people feeling stuck. Moving on from what was once an important piece of your life can be a difficult or painful thing to do. Without proper closure there may be sleepless nights, worrying and those awful “what if” questions pondering through your thoughts… not a great feeling at all. So what do you do now? I recently had to end a friendship that was very near and dear to my heart. After the relationship, the lack of closure almost drove me over the edge. I didn’t quite know how to deal with it at first. But during that period, I went through a series of steps that helped me ‘get over it’ and bounce back to my usual happy-go-lucky self again. Here are 5 ways to find closure so you can move on: 1. Examine how it ended – Is there a reason that you haven’t been able to let go? Holding on to something that is no longer there is just unhealthy. The first step is to take a closer look at how it all went down. Ask yourself why you are dwelling on the past and identify why you are afraid to to move on. The pain, hurt, anger and disappointment will diminish once you have a realistic understanding of the situation. 2. Determine what you’ve learned from it – Have you ever heard the saying everything happens for a reason ? We are all divine creatures with real emotions and feelings, so it’s natural to feel attached to something that you were once so close too. Take this time to focus on the positives! Make a list of your best talents, gifts and assets. Figure out what lessons you learned while dealing with your situation and try to think of the happier times. 3. Apply those lessons to your life – Moving on involves taking responsibility for yourself. You may or may have not done anything wrong to deserve to be in this situation, but if you have, take mental notes or write down what you think went wrong. Some people like to write in journals, write poems or create music or artwork to express themselves and to get things in perspective. Here’s an example: if you just broke up with a lying, cheating ex – but saw all the signs of this person being unfaithful – apply that knowledge to your future relationships and don’t settle for anyone’s crap again. You deserve happiness! 4. Grieve the loss – Your loss may actually be a gain if whatever or whomever you lost wasn’t right for you. During the grieving period, only engage in activities by that bring you peace and comfort. If your situation still leaves you feeling down, this may not be an easy task. But take all the time you need! Remember, moving on is much easier said than done, but you can get through this if you just take it one day at a time at your own pace. 5. Getting on with your life – Whether you are moving on after the ending of a relationship, job, lifestyle or even a way of thinking, it’s important accept that it is over and done… it’s time to get on with your life! You have a future ahead of you that depends on you letting go of the past. Determine what’s most important for your next move and make your next move your best move. If you are going though a storm in your life, have faith and remember that there is indeed light on the other end of the tunnel. Related Posts: Celebrate The Phenomenal Woman In You!
