‘Black Women Film Summit’ Photos The inaugural Black Women Film Summit recently took place in Atlanta and brought together an astute and esteemed group of women celebrating their contributions to cinema. The Summit kicked off with a screening of Centric’s “Single Ladies” at Spelman College’s Cosby Auditorium Thursday hosted by Stacii Jae and Lamman Rucker that was attended by the cast of “Sorority Sisters”…. and the next day was the highly-anticipated “Untold Stories Luncheon,” which honored the achievements of casting director Robi Reed, 135th Street Agency founder Shante Bacon, Black Women Film Network Chairman Emeritus Tomika DePriest, Georgia Film & TV Sourcebook publisher Tia Powell and film producer Will Packer who posed with Kandi Burruss. Tawanna Easley, Dominique Boyd and Erica Lamberson, young filmmakers and straight-A students, were also in attendance and awarded scholarships to further their careers in film… and the next day the Summit closed with independent film screenings and a performance from “Empire’s” V. Bozeman. Top honors were given to projects from female directors Laila Petrone, Spelman grad Brittany Fennell, Kiandra Parks, Kimberly Townes and LaShunda Smith. This may be the definition of irony: According to a new report, E! is considering two women to come on board the Fashion Police… neither of whom is known for wearing very much clothing. Following Kelly Osbourne’s resignation from the program last Friday, the network is in the midst of considering a wide range of stars to take her position on the snark-heavy panel. The first name floated about belonged to Khloe Kardashian . And now and insider tells Us Weekly that both Chrissy Teigen and Amber Rose have been discussed by producers. Teigen is certainly outspoken on social media and she has an impressive modeling resume to back her up. Rose isn’t exactly known to hold back her opinions, either, especially when it comes to the Kardashians. Meanwhile, another source says Naya Rivera may also come on board. “Naya is talking to E! about being on Fashion Police,” the tabloid writes of the pregnant actress. “They are really intrigued, especially since she was so controversial during her View appearances and got so much press.” The combination of Joan Rivers’ death, combined with Giuliana Rancic’s controversial comments over Zendaya, caused Osbourne to quit the show late last week. They’re looking for another celeb replacement, and they’re digging through some interesting options. As sources tell US Weekly , Chrissy Tiegen and Amber Rose’s names have come up in production meetings a lot. Extra-outspoken Chrissy was a fashion fixture during awards season , and Amber’s name seems to always come up recently — execs think either one might be a good look for the show’s ratings. This report comes right on the heels of chatter that both NeNe Leakes and E! royalty Khloe Kardashian were each also in the running for the fashion post. And as a source told HollywoodLife, Khloe feels like she should be a shoe-in since she already works for the company and has co-hosted their red carpets before — and she is pissed that NeNe could be the one to beat her out for the spot: “Khloe is feeling the pressure and losing her mind that Fashion Police producers are considering the Real Housewives Of Atlanta star. TMZ is reporting that Fairman was arrested for prostitution today after cops in New Castle, Delaware caught her in a sting operation. Fairman, now 21, was arrested along with seven other women, in what must have been the most exciting day in suburban Delaware cop history. Between people getting knocked up just to be on the show , and slugging their baby daddies , 16 and Pregnant already doesn’t have the greatest reputation, and Valerie’s arrest certainly won’t help matters. Fairman, who starred in season 2 of the controversial series is best remembered for seeming more concerned about her imploding relationship with her boyfriend than with the fact that she was about bring a freakin’ child into the world. Valerie has yet to speak on her arrest, but defense attorneys are expected to argue that it wasn’t Fairman. Sorry, we had to. Unfortunately, our favorite newsman is at the heart of a much more serious story this week, as allegations that he lied about being shot down in helicopter while covering the Iraq War in 2003 have led to demands that Williams be suspended or even fired. Williams had told the heroic tale on several occasions over the past 12 years, each time recalling the events in exactly the same fashion. When he shared the story during his January 30 broadcast, however, several soldiers who were on the scene that day cried foul, forcing Williams to apologize and admit that he had “misremembered” the events in question. Brian Williams Apologizes Now, more stories of Williams heroism in the line of duty are being questioned, and the future of the revered journalists’ career is suddenly in doubt. Critics of Williams are now questioning his claims that he contracted dysentery and watched dead bodies float past his hotel while covering Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The New York Post claims Williams stayed in an area of the city that was not affected by flooding and that doctors tell them not a single case of dysentery was reported during Katrina. The Post also claims that former Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw is calling for Williams’ head, reportedly telling sources that he is “extremely uncomfortable” with Williams lies and that “a lesser producer or journalist would have been immediately fired for a false report.” This is not the first scandal that’s threatened the integrity of NBC News in recent months. Back in October, the network’s chief medical expert Dr. Nancy Snyderman violated her Ebola quarantine after returning from Africa. Red carpet reporter Giuliana Rancic wants newly-hired colleague Maria Menounos out of the picture over on E! News, according to new reports. Why does she allegedly care? And will she be successful? Rancic, 40, and Menounos, 36, have both interviewed so many famous faces over the years that they have become stars themselves in their own right. Perhaps for this reason, there’s a bit of a turf war in effect. According to an industry insider close to the celebrity gossip and news network, “Giuliana feels like Maria is stealing her show and she is terrified.” As a result, “She wants Maria out,” a source told In Touch . “Giuliana feels threatened by Maria” because of her contract, which “includes Live From E!, as well as stake in the company and her own show.” It didn’t help matters when a scheduling snafu on Rancic’s part left the door open for Maria to step in and host E!’s SAG Awards red carpet coverage. Menounos’ efforts were not that well received, either. “Maria royally messed up at the SAG’s when she was taking over for Giuliana and she got heat for it,” the source says of her lackluster performance. “Maria chalked it up to the fact that she was so nervous and the network sided with her, which pissed off Giuliana even more,” the insider continues. While “E! understands that this was a one-time mess-up because Maria is such a seasoned pro at this,” some think Rancic might be first to go. “Honestly, people that work at E! think that Giuliana really needs to step aside,” continues the supposed network source. “She is tired and it shows.” You buying it?
