I don’t know if you guys remember, but last time we had Erica and her show on the site, it was with some shots of her in her bra . With writing that good, I’m kind of surprised they didn’t win any Emmys, but I’m glad to hear the show got picked up for another season anyway. I’m a little disappointed Erica didn’t bring a new clip to play though. Or just that old one. If I were in charge of the network, I’d run a Saving Hope marathon of just those 30 seconds on repeat. GTFOHWTBS! Earlier today Paula Deen released some half-a$$ed “apology” for “her past mistakes” , but her bosses have decided that it’s too little too late. Food Network Decides Not To Renew Paula Deen’s Contract After This Month According to TMZ reports : Paula Deen’s goose has been cooked at the Food Network. Officials tell TMZ they are not renewing her contract, which expires at the end of this month. Paula apparently was done in for her comments during a deposition in a civil lawsuit, in which she freely admitted to using the N-word in the past. Deen issued an apology this morning that bordered on ridiculous — it was heavily edited and frankly insincere. She issued a second apology shortly before the Food Network said it would not renew her contract Now Paula will have plenty of time to make more fattening, sugary, snacks that will kill her. Paula Deen admitted during questioning in a discrimination lawsuit against her that she has used racial slurs in the past, but insists she is not a racist. The 66-year-old Food Network star and restaurant owner was peppered with questions about her racial attitudes and actions in a May 17 deposition. Lisa Jackson, a former manager of Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House, is suing Deen and her brother, Bubba Hiers, who own the restaurant. Jackson claims that she was sexually harassed by Paula Deen and worked in a hostile environment rife with innuendo and rampant n-word use . A transcript of the deposition shows Deen being asked if she has used racial slurs. “Yes, of course,” Paula replied, although she added: “It’s been a very long time.” Asked to give an example, Deen recalled the time she worked as a bank teller in southwest Georgia in the 1980s and was held at gunpoint by a robber. The gunman was black, Deen told the attorney, and she thought she used the slur when talking about him. “Probably in telling my husband,” she said. Deen said she may have also used racial slurs when recalling conversations between employees at her restaurants, but couldn’t recall any specifics. “But that’s just not a word that we use as time has gone on,” Deen said. “Things have changed since the ’60s. And my children and my brother object to that word being used in any cruel or mean behavior. As well as I do.” William Franklin, Deen’s lawyer, said later that “contrary to media reports, Ms. Deen does not condone or find the use of racial epithets acceptable.” Deen and Hiers have both denied the allegations made by Jackson, who is white, and Franklin says Deen is “looking forward to her day in court.” It’s been a rough year and a half for Deen, who has also been feuding with Anthony Bourdain and has come under fire for pushing a diabetes drug. She has lost a lot of weight, however. Kudos on that.
Girl Meets World is officially heading to the Disney Channel. The wildly anticipated Boy Meets World spinoff will premiere in 2014, the network announced today, via press release, with executive producer Michael Jacobs saying in a statement: “Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular.” The new series will star Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews, the teenage daughter of Cory and Topanga, to be played by a returning Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, respectively. It will be set in New York City, with Cory teaching history at his daughter’s school and Topanga running a pudding shop. According to the official Disney Channel synopsis, the sitcom will follow Riley and her quick-witted friend Maya (played by Sabrina Carpenter) as they “embark on an unforgettable middle school experience.” Look for Rider Strong to maybe guest star on the program, while Teo Halm will play Elliott, Cory and Topanga’s son. He was accompanied by a “mystery blonde,” the NY Post first reported, but Radar has learned that Seacrest actually enjoyed the company of THREE fair-haired honeys. Though he stopped to take a pic and chat with Shayna Terese and Kristen, he grabbed yet another blonde in an orange top for a stint in the DJ booth around 6:30 pm. “He asked if he could go up there and stayed for like 30 minutes with the girl in the booth,” the source says. “Then they brought out a couple bottles of champagne and he was spraying the crowd,” the insider says. “The crowd was going crazy and Ryan was loving it. There’s no way… is there? A documentary that aired over the weekend on Discovery’s Animal Planet has raised new questions over the existence of mermaids. Aptly titled Mermaids: The New Evidence , the series examines the myth and the rumors surrounding these aquatic hominids. It is a follow-up to 2012’s Mermaids: The Body Found . The program netted record ratings for the network, despite The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration stating that “no evidence” of these creatures has ever been found.
