While Weezy brings more colorful punchlines than the average rapper, he can drop some lines that leave you scratching your head. Our friends at TheSmokingSection.net have compiled a list of the 15 Most Absurd Lyrics from Tunechi’s latest. Song: “Abortion” Line: “Jumped on the celly, called Makaveli/He say he was gravy, I say I was jelly” Reaction: What else but head to desk? Not only is Tupac still alive, he’s accepting calls from other rappers now? Song: “Megaman” Line: “I’m a diamond in the rough like a baby in the trash” Reaction: You know what you should not compare your style to? Dead babies. Not something anyone wants to think about when analyzing a rapper’s swag level. Song: “Blunt Blowin’” Line: “All about my riches, my name should be Richard…” Reaction: In other words, you’re all about your cheese so we should call you Cheesy Weezy because this punchline wouldn’t even get any “ooh’s” in a kindergarten classroom. Alicia Covers Glamour & Reveals Moment She Fell In Love [PHOTOS]

Read the original here:

Alicia Keys covers Glamour magazine’s October 2011 issue alongside Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore. The three ladies teamed up to help launch Five , a series of short films about women and breast cancer that will be stitched together in a two-hour block on Lifetime in October. Each of the cover girls directed a film. Alicia directed Lili , a film about a fiercely independent 35-year-old whose breast cancer forces her to work through her relationship with her mother. How did you get involved with Five ? Kristin [Hahn] and Jen called me up; after I read the scripts, I felt like this was something important, and I wanted to be a part of it. I chose Lili because she’s close to my age and I understood the family dynamic. I had an immediate idea of what I could bring to it. People very close to me in my family have had [breast cancer], and it’s scary and it’s hard. Which one of your songs would you sit and listen to on the radio: “Fallin’,” “Empire State of Mind,” “If I Ain’t Got You” or “Unbreakable”? I mean, I don’t want to sound crazy, but I’d listen to all of them all the way through. I love them. I love those songs! Your husband, Swizz Beatz, has said that your relationship is “a blessing.” Do you feel that way too? Yes. It’s beautiful because rarely, I think, do you find a relationship where you can experience things equally. In fact, I think that’s my favorite word and the most important word when it comes to relationships: equality. And that’s what we’ve been able to find. We encourage each other equally. We’re excited for each other. Do you remember the moment when you fell in love? I do remember the exact moment. If I told you, I would have to kill you, but it was something that he planned, and he planned it so beautifully and thoughtfully that in that moment I remember thinking to myself, Oh my God, I’m so in love with him. What makes you giddy? I bet I can guess, and he’s just about a year old…. Yeah, my son, Egypt, makes me super giddy, especially when he laughs. His laugh makes me laugh like a maniac! Do you ever think about the kind of man you want Egypt to be? I do think about it a lot. He’s going to be a man in this world. It’s a beautiful blessing that I get to help raise a man. And I want to show him as much as possible. So what do you hope for your family? We’re such a bonded happy family, and I hope that we’ll always be able to be that. For me, the most important thing is that we always take the time to understand each other and grow together. We’re all going to change. Otherwise, it’s boring. GLAAD Upset About Tyler The Creator & Odd Future’s Anti-Gay Slurs

Read more from the original source:

GLAAD isn’t too happy with Tyler The Creator and Odd Future. Tyler The Creator and Odd Future’s second album contains over 200 anti-gay slurs.  The organization is not feeling Tyler’s lyrical content on his latest album Goblin either. GLAAD released a statement regarding his appearance on MTV’s Video Music Awards and his win for Best New Artist. “Rather than providing simply a larger platform, MTV and other networks should educate viewers about why anti-gay and misogynistic language has no place in the music industry today,” said Herndon Graddick, Senior Director of Programs at GLAAD. “Given Tyler’s history of such remarks, viewers and potential sponsors should refrain from honoring homophobia and in the future look to a more deserving artist.” Tyler has not responded to GLAAD’s statement. We Remember Aaliyah (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001)

See the article here:

It’s hard to believe that its been ten years since Aaliyah left us. Many of us remember exactly where we were when we heard the tragic news that Aaliyah’s life had been cut short by a plane accident in the Bahamas on August 25, 2001. Her memory will not be forgotten anytime soon. The singer-actress began her career in 1991 when her uncle, Barry Hankerson, signed her to Blackground Records. Three years later, her debut album, Age Ain’t Nothin’ But A Number , would be released. Audiences were immediately captivated by the teenager’s street-smart style and angelic voice. Her debut single, “Back & Forth,” topped the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop singles chart for three weeks. The follow-up single, a cover of the Isley Brothers’ “At Your Best (You Are Love),” peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. With the release of her second album, 1996′s One In A Million , Aaliyah helped changed the sound of R&B and Hip-Hop thanks to her new collaborators, Missy Elliot and Timbaland. With singles like “If Your Girl Only Knew,” “One In A Million,” “Hot Like Fire,” and “4 Page Letter,” it was obvious that Aaliyah’s star was on the rise. In 1998, Aaliyah was invited to the Academy Awards ceremony where she performed the Oscar nominated song “Journey To The Past” from the film Anastasia. Later in 1998, Aaliyah released yet another single from a soundtrack. This time it was “Are You That Somebody” from the Eddie Murphy film Dr. Doolittle . The single would become one of Aaliyah’s most popular with its stellar production and highly choreographed video. Two years later the singer would add the title of “actress” to her resume when she starred in the film Romeo Must Die opposite martial arts expert Jet Li. The film debuted at number two on its opening weekend and spawned two hit Aaliyah singles, “Come Back In One Piece” with DMX, and the chart topping “Try Again.” After completing work on Romeo Must Die , Aaliyah went straight to work on the vampire film Queen Of The Damned and was also slated to appear in the sequels to the popular film The Matrix . She also found time to put in work on her third album, the eponymously titled Aaliyah which was preceded by the mysterious and sexy video for “We Need A Resolution.” After wrapping up filming in the Bahamas for the Aaliyah album’s second single, “Rock The Boat,” Aaliyah and eight others were killed in a crash shortly after their plane took off from the island on August 25th, 2001. She was 22 years old. Kane Beatz Defends Lil Wayne, Working With Nas And Plies

Read more from the original source:

At a mere 23 years old Orlando-born Daniel Johson, aka Kane Beatz , has already  helped make hip-hop history. While he is proud of music he’s produced for Trey Songz (“Bottom’s Up”) and Trick Daddy (“Tuck Your Ice”)  his hit for Nicki Minaj, “Super Bass ” just helped her set a Billboard record. After ten weeks on the charts, the single bumped Missy Elliot’s “Work It” to become the most successful solo single by a female emcee in almost a ten years. “That feels crazy,” he told TheUrbandaily.com of his achievement. “Working with Nicki, she is one of the only female artists in a while that has that kind of potential so it feels incredible.” Beatz is part of a new wave of young producers (Boi-1da, Lex Luger, et al) taking the industry by storm working right from their computer desktops. “Super Bass” was one of four instrumentals he knocked out on Fruity Loops while visiting family in Orlando. “I use a lot of 808 elements in the music,” he answers when asked what makes his bass so Kryptonian . “I was trying to mix R&B and Pop at the time. There’s no real trick to the bass.” In addition to Billboard accolades the song has been covered by American Idol contestant Anoop Desai . While Kane hasn’t heard the cover, he feels it’s a testament to the song’s universal appeal. “I’ve had big records but ‘Super Bass’ connects people from so many different genres. I just take it in and enjoy it.” As any musician will tell you in 2011, success doesn’t come without its challenges. Kane Beatz was also the producer behind Young Money’s hit, “Bedrock,” and the song has recently become the focus of a lawsuit. [ read here ]. “I talked to [my management] about it but nothing has come to them in the mail,” he says. “They don’t even know what that is. I think they had the same name or something. But people don’t understand what it is. Wayne didn’t even write that song. The song is based off an old school pick up line, so I’m not sure what the situation is there.” Unlike some other producers, this may be the only time you hear Kane mention Lil Wayne and legal action in the same sentence. While a list of musicians, including Bangladesh , Playn-N-Skillz and Jim Jonsin are taking Lil Wayne to court for unpaid royalties, Beatz insists that his money is never funny when working with Weezy. “Me personally I’m managed by G. Roberson so Cash Money has always kept the business 100 with me,” he says. “One thing I know about Wayne is that everybody who works with him still ends up working with him so they must be doing something right.” After a busy and lucrative 2010 and 2011, Beatz has completed three songs with Nas for his up-coming album and is scouting talent for his label The Building. “Right now I’ve got JR Get Money, he’s on Lupe Fiasco’s ‘The Show Goes On,’ we gotta new single with Plies and at the same time looking for new outlets. I’m looking for a female artist to invest in.” Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” Breaks Record
