Keshia Knight Pulliam: Fired on Celebrity Apprentice For Not Calling Bill Cosby!

Keshia Knight Pulliam of The Cosby Show fame made her debut on Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday night, and indirectly ended up getting fired because of her association with it. Specifically, its embattled patriarch, alleged serial rapist Bill Cosby. Because this show is so bad even by reality TV standards, NBC can’t even find a place for it these days, and last night’s premiere was filmed ages so. Many months before the abhorrent avalanche of Bill Cosby rape allegations, as it were, so when the contestants’ task was to raise money for a bake sale? One can understand, during a conversation about dialing up wealthy contacts, why Pulliam’s teammates might ask her to call up her former TV father. Pulliam, the project manager, awkwardly shot that down, opting instead to reach out to “people I felt can deliver the quickest.” Whatever that means. Cosby went unmentioned for the rest of the episode until Keshia’s team lost and went before Donald Trump and co-judges Ivanka Trump and Piers Morgan. Having come up short in the fundraising department, Keshia Knight Pulliam’s team looked squarely at her, and Trump took her to task over not calling Cosby. “Did you call Bill?” Trump asked Pulliam. “I did not,” Pulliam said through tears (again, before the Bill Cosby rape scandal ). “I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don’t know how long.” “So for me to pick up the phone, having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event … I feel that’s not my place to do.” Trump would ultimately fire her, saying, “I really believe, if you’d called that gentleman, he would’ve helped you, even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years.” “Because you were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever. So I think it would’ve been a very good call to make for charity.” “But you have to take responsibility.” “I think you agree with that.” Celebrity Apprentice Cast Photos: Who’s In? 1. Kate Gosselin Kate Gosselin as a cast member of Celebrity Apprentice?!? We NEVER could have seen this coming! The amazing part is that the show made no mention of the fact that this was filmed a year ago (or close to it) or edit down this scene in any real way. A scene in which a female acquaintance of Bill Cosby’s gets fired from a “job” by a boorish boss because she didn’t beg Bill Cosby to help climb the ladder? You can’t make this stuff up. Granted, you can’t make up the fact that this show is even still on, or that Kate Gosselin is starring on it, but you see our point. It was as baffling as it gets. What do you think? Should Pulliam have been fired for this particular non-call? Was she not saying something about Cosby that she didn’t reveal? Hit the comments!

The Good Wife Season 6 Episode 11 Recap: Case Dismissed!

Network television may not get any better than when the characters on The Good Wife are racing against the clock. On The Good Wife Season 6 Episode 11, Diane, Kalinda and company had mere hours to prove that Cary’s plea ought to be thrown out after new information surfaced: Lemond Bishop’s men were trying to export drugs to Canada, not import them, as the state had charged. Watch The Good Wife Season 6 Episode 11 Online But could Diane prove in court that the prosecution knowingly lied about this key difference? In short, the answer was no. But Kalinda wouldn’t accept that as fact. She actually learned how to hack into a detective’s email and make it appear as if he read a message that warned of the exportation. This is highly illegal, of course. We witnessed Kalinda wrestling with whether or not to take this step as Alicia mock debated against Peter, who acted as Prady; and as Cary received advice from a “prison consultant” (who knew those existed?!?) regarding how to act behind bars in order to remain safe. Kalinda ended up finding another way to get Cary off (no, not like that ! Although the two did have sex, at the consultant’s behest, in order to create a memory for Cary) when she found evidence of police entrapment. However, a desperate Diane, up against the clock, went into Kalinda’s computer and found the hacking evidence instead. It worked. Cary’s case was dismissed with prejudice. But we now have a pretty clear idea of how Archie Panjabi will be written off the series: either due to her illegal maneuvering here; or due to the favor she owes Bishop after getting him to protect Cary in prison. Alicia learned of the Cary decision and, armed with confidence after taking it to Peter during their fake debate, kissed Elfman on the lips to conclude the hour.  Really! Madonna Compares Self to Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King, Sparks Outrage

Madonna recently compared online song leaks from her new album to rape and terrorism , generating her usual bit of controversy in the process. But that was apparently just the appetizer to a full-on meal of outrage the legendary artist has gone on to spark this week. In a series of Photoshopped Instagram pictures to promote her CD, “Rebel Hearts,” Madonna seemingly likened herself to Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela by superimposing her album artwork on to their faces. “This #rebelheart fought for freedom!” Madonna captioned the photo of Mandela, adding of Dr. King: “This #rebelheart had a dream.” The use of such icons as a tool of music promotion has stirred up anger among many Twitter followers. “This is pure stupidity,” wrote one user, whole another told the artist to “grow up” and another posed a question question: “Bitch what the f—k?” In a more eloquent critique, another “beate_abbey” wrote the following: “To lessen Mandela’s and Dr. King’s achievements as far as making their faces involuntarily a part of a marketing campaign for some irrelevant pop music is just a huge perception disorder. I’m already unnerved by all this pictures with strings in people’s faces. This despair is such a cringe factor. It’s a pity.” 10 Controversial Photos of Madonna 1. Donna Douglas Dies: Beverly Hillbillies Star Was 81

Donna Douglas – the actress best known for her role as Elly May Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies – passed away today at the age of 81. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Douglas moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting and modeling while still in her teens. It wasn’t until she was 29, however, that Douglas would land the role that made her famous.  The Beverly Hillbillies ran for nine seasons on CBS, and Elly May quickly became one of the most beloved television characters of the 1960s. While widely regarded as a “single-role” actor who’s remembered primarily for one part, Douglas never expressed any bitterness about not receiving more opportunities in Hollywood. In fact, even in her final years, she spoke with fondness and pride about her time on the Hillbillies cast: “Elly May was like a slice out of my life,” said Douglas in one of her final interviews. “People love her and they love the Hillbillies. Even to this day, it’s shown every day somewhere.” At the height of her fame, Douglas played one of the title characters in the 1966 film Frankie and Johnny, opposite Elvis Presley. it was her only feature film. In 2010, Douglas was immortalized in collectible form as part of Mattel’s line of “Classic TV” Barbie dolls. Douglas is survived by her son, Danny Bourgeois. 23 Shocking Celebrity Deaths 1. Ashton Kutcher New Year Message Fuels Marriage Speculation

Let the speculation begin anew! Days after Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were spotted at a Los Angeles Lakers game and many wondered why the latter was sporting a giant ring on her finger, the actor has wished fans a happy new year. And he’s signed his message from “The Kutchers.” Despite their prominent A-List status, Kutcher and Kunis have remained very coy about their relationship. The actress scarcely flaunted her baby bump in public prior to giving birth this fall , while the pair got engaged in February without any kind of tabloid cover story or major announcement or anything. So it wouldn’t be a stunner if they really did go ahead and get married on the down low. Last summer, in fact, Kunis told W magazine that she wanted to exchange vows in the opposite manner of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. “I never wanted to get married. From the age of 12, I prepared my parents for no marriage,” she said at the time. “Then things changed – I found the love of my life. “Now my theory on weddings is: Don’t invite anyone. Do it privately and secretly. My parents are okay with that. Leelah Alcorn Suicide: Mother Still Won’t Acknowledge Teen Was Transgender

The mother of Leelah Alcorn, the transgender teen who killed herself after her parents shunned her identity, still will not support her orientation or even acknowledge it. “We don’t support that, religiously,” Carla Alcorn told CNN in an interview, one week after Leelah Alcorn (born Joshua Alcorn) committed suicide in Ohio. “But we told him that we loved him unconditionally. We loved him no matter what. I loved my son. People need to know that I loved him. He was a good kid, a good boy.” Using masculine pronouns to talk about Leelah throughout the interview, Carla Alcorn has faced backlash for consistently referring to Leelah as “Joshua.” In her suicide note, dated to publish on her Tumblr after she walked in front of a truck at 2:30 a.m. on I-71, Leelah called for her death to mean something. She also wrote about the issues that transgender people face, and detailed how her parents pulled her out of school and took away her electronics. That almost led her to suicide, she said, but once her parents let her see her friends again, she became happy. Unfortunately, the feeling didn’t last. “The only way I will rest in peace is if one day transgender people aren’t treated the way I was,” her suicide note reads. “My death needs to mean something.” “My death needs to be counted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide … I want someone to look at that number and say ‘that’s f–ked up’ and fix it.” “Fix society,” she pleaded. “Please.” Signed, “(Leelah) Josh Alcorn.” Leelah Alcorn Photos: R.I.P. 1. Carla said she and her husband couldn’t afford the surgery required for transition, and her Internet ban was due to her viewing “inappropriate material.” Leelah’s death and note have caused outrage and, ironically, even some hate notes against her parents for the perception of their treatment of Leelah. Carla said people have been calling her and her husband “horrible people” for the way they dealt with their daughter, which included conversion therapy. About two months before her death, Leelah reached out to Reddit, asking users to help her understand whether or not she was facing abuse by her parents. After several users commented back, she drew a conclusion that she summed up as follows, ” I don’t think it’s considered abuse , just s–tty parenting.”

Lindsay Lohan: Looking Thin and Frail Following Illness?

Last week, Lindsay Lohan contracted a virus known as Chikungunya. Lohan was on vacation in French Polynesia when she contracted the untreatable, mosquito-borne pathogen which can be fatal in some cases. Remarkably, less than one week later, Lindsay seems to have recovered. She hit the town on New Year’s Eve and posted several Instagram pics of herself partying in Manhattan. However, some folks who have scrutinized Linday’s latest selfies say that the actress’ brush with illness appears to have taken a toll. Some fans have pointed out that Lindsay looks thinner than usual in the above pics, leading to speculation that the illness was more serious than LiLo let on. In the past, Lindsay’s weight loss has been blamed on substance abuse, but she claims to be clean and sober these days.  Even when properly treated, Chikungunya can linger in the body for several weeks, but the initial fever generally only lasts a couple days. Thus, many have suggested that Lindsay might be sicker than she realizes and should probably be home in bed rather than hitting up NYC hot spots. Though her recent stint on the London stage went better than expected Lindsay was “too ill” to perform on at least one occasion. At the time, she was accused of faking it, and now we’re starting to hope that was the case. New years. Same old Kylie Jenner. A day after sister Kendall Jenner posted a revealing photo to Instagram of herself in a teeny, tiny bikini , Kylie has gone ahead and flashed her flat abs for followers. Proving she wasn’t too hungover to remember the date, the 17-year old simply wrote “1/1/15” as the caption to this image: Jenner is also showing off her showing off her perfectly manicured nails as she grips her cell phone (i.e. her most prized possession) in the photograph. It follows a year in which Kendall and Kylie nearly surpassed their more famous half-sister, Kim Kardashian in terms of attention. And how did they accomplish this feat? By following Kim’s lead and starring in a sex tape doing pretty much nothing except posing for intimate pictures. It’s unclear, meanwhile, just what Kylie Jenner did on New Year’s Eve, but she shared a photo at one point of herself partying somewhere in Los Angeles, as she wore an eye-catching small red dress and a Happy New Year crown. Over the holidays, a report that 8-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt had announced her intention to self-identify as a boy named “John” circulated throughout the Internet. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have yet to speak out on the rumor, meaning that no one has any clue if it’s legit or just the invention of a bored tabloid editor. But that didn’t stop human twerk machine Amber Rose from taking it upon herself to confirm the news and slap a label on little SJP. “How gorgeous is John Jolie Pitt?” Amber tweeted. “Born into perfect family for him. #TransKid” Yes, the sentiment is nice, but Amber making assumptions about an 8-year-old’s gender identity? Not so cool. Some things are just meant to remain private, ya know? If everyone in Hollywood thought Angelina Jolie was a talentless brat , we wouldn’t all go spreading the news about Shiloh’s mom, would we? Okay, maybe that’s a bad example.  Anyway, the celebrity gossip game generally follows the same unspoken rule as the Mafia: Everyone agrees to leave civilians and children out of the rumor mill, because doing otherwise would make us terrible human beings. Edward Herrman Dies: Gilmore Girls Star Was 71

Though you may not recognize the name Edward Herrman, you’re almost certainly familiar with his work. In addition to his nine seasons on the cast of Gilmore Girls , Herrman appeared in over 100 films during a storied career that spanned five decades. Richard Gilmore – Lorelai’s father and Rory’s Yale benefactor – may be Herrman’s stand-out role for younger generations, but movie and TV fans of all ages are likely to recognize from one small but memorable part or another. Herrman most often played blue-blooded stuffed shirts, but was routinely described as a warm, jovial man by friends and colleagues. His late-career parts ranged from Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan’s cantakerous minister on How I Met Your Mother to the voice of Stratton-Oakmont in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Herrman was reportedly battling brain cancer and had spent the past several weeks in intensive care. He leaves behind a wife and three children. While he may not have been a household name during his career, Herrman became a worldwide trending topic within minutes of when news of his death went public.  It’s a fitting final tribute for a man who never received top billing, but often stole the show.
