It’s official: After months of speculation and a suspiciously out-of-the-blue engagement, the New York Post has confirmed that Sophie Hunter is pregnant with Benedict Cumberbatch’s baby. The rumors began when Cumberbatch and Hunter got engaged back in November. The actor’s obsessive fans scrutinize his every move, yet no one was aware that he was in a serious relationship. So when Bendy announced his intention to marry Hunter, it was widely assumed the couple had good reason to hurry things along. Hunter was spotted hiding a baby bump just a few weeks later at the Palm Springs Film Festival, and as expected, the Hunterbatch pregnancy was confirmed just a few days later. “Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it,” a source tells the Post. “They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring.” In addition to playing the title role in the BBC’s Sherlock, Cumberbatch is currently an Oscar contender thanks to his acclaimed work in The Imitation Game. Stateside, of course, he may be best known for inspiring Gosling-esque fantasies in millions of female fans. Last night we learned that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcomed their first child over the holidays. Aside from some stunning red carpet maternity fashion statements from Blake, the couple remained low-key throughout the pregnancy, and the birth announcement was no different. The New York Post broke the news with very little in the way of details, but today (though some fairly shady means) the newspaper has obtained more information, including the child’s gender and name: It’s a girl! And what may be even more exciting is the fact that it’s a girl with a refreshingly non-quirky name. Violet Reynolds’ identity was revealed via a tweet-and-delete from a nurse who claims to work in the hospital where little V was delivered. So we could be getting taken for a ride here, but it certainly sounds plausible. In fact, Elle magazine has speculated that Blake wore violet in the above photo as a way of hinting at her choice of moniker. Sounds ridiculous, but if you’ve visited the former Gossip Girl cast member’s lifestyle website, then you know this girl is all bout obsessive attention to detail. Britt Nilsson is someone to keep your eye on this season on The Bachelor, having walked away with Chris Soules’ “first impression” rose last night. The farmer from Arlington, Iowa, was undoubtedly smitten with her on Monday’s premiere, though, and not just because she’s gorgeous. And a hugger. Okay, those were the main reasons. But good ones! “When that first limo pulled up, I took some deep breaths and tried to settle my nerves. The hug from Britt definitely helped,” Chris blogged on People . “And yes, it really did seem to last forever,” he adds, “but I can’t put the hug only on Britt. One sound bite from the Keeping Up With the Kardashians promo , released Monday, shows Kim getting heated when talking about her young half-sister: “I’m not buying her a f–king pair of shoes, I bought her a f–king career!” Oooh, those are fightin’ words right there. But do they have any merit? Anyone who even knows who Kylie and Kendall Jenner are knows they have undoubtedly benefited from their family’s fame, or basically Kim’s fame. Between the family reality show’s notoriety and the countless connections and marketing methods employed by Kim and Kris Jenner, the sky’s the limit. What, if anything, has Kim so bitter about this, as seen in the promo? The joking escalated to heckling, and Manziel threw the crowd an angry middle finger. Khloe shared an image of a positive pregnancy test in the center of a collage of photos of herself, Kris Jenner, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian all looking shocked: The pic was quickly removed from the social network, but plenty of fans saw it, and her caption reads, “I think we could rule, miss menopause out of this equation.” Scratch Kris Jenner then (thank goodness). It’s safe to say Kourtney is also out, since she just had her third child and was likely still pregnant when this Keeping Up With the Kardashians footage was shot. ABC rang in its new year of original programming with something truly original on Sunday night: Galavant, a musical event that starred Joshua Sasse as a knight whose armor loses its luster after the love of his life – Mallory Jansen’s Madelena – gets abducted by the wealthy King Richard (Timothy Omundson). With music penned by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, and with Dan Fogelman as executive producer, the comedic event also featured such huge names as John Stamos and Ricky Gervais. There were many jokes. There were a lot of pratfalls. And there were unique songs viewers will likely have stuck in their heads for days weeks to come. But did the story of this fallen hero and his quest for revenge make a strong first impression for reasons beyond ABC’s endless ad campaign?
