I promise, a lot cooler people are gonna come out tonight. Is it okay if I perform two more songs and you guys can get to it?” But Selena then tried a rendition of “Come & Get It,” only to grow so agitated by the conclusion that she dropped the F Bomb and stormed off stage. Martin Bashir has resigned from MSNBC in the wake of the controversy he started when he advocated doing something very unpleasant to Sarah Palin. Martin Bashir Resigns From MSNBC Almost three weeks after his shocking on-air trashing of Palin, he finally stepped down from the network. A steep price to pay, yes, but deservedly so. At issue was Palin comparing America’s Chinese debt to slavery, and her insistence that her claim was not racist. Bashir tried to make light of this, and failed. He essentially advocated that someone use her mouth as a latrine, but didn’t even word it as nicely as that. Former celebrity Paris Hilton was on the receiving end of a Twitter hoax Thursday involving “her” supposed reaction to the death of Nelson Mandela. “Paris” did not sound smart in her alleged Tweet, posted after Nelson Mandela died at the age of 95, and actual Paris is not happy about it whatsoever. “RIP Nelson Mandela,” the Photoshopped tweet purportedly from Hilton read. “Your ‘I Have A Dream’ speech was so inspiring. An amazing man.” That’s right, Hilton was supposedly so brick stupid that she confused Mandela with Martin Luther King Jr., or so the fake tweet would have you believe. Which more than a few people did … which isn’t all that surprising, considering the proliferation of hoaxes on Twitter, and the fact that it’s Paris Hilton. NOTE: Paris is a former celebrity who was like the Kim Kardashian of 2003-2007. The two were even friends, and their “career paths” are similar. You could say the Paris Hilton sex tape was the Kim Kardashian sex tape before the Kim Kardashian sex tape was the Kim Kardashian sex tape. In any case, a quick check of Hilton’s verified account at the time the hoax started revealed she was on a plane to Miami, and did not send the Tweet. The socialite and reality star was quick to re-tweet items debunking the hoax, which according to reports, came from another account , not hers. “Just landed & heard the sad new[s] about Nelson Mandela,” real Paris wrote. “He was a true Hero & the world is a better place because of him. May he rest in peace.” Eleven minutes later, she let loose on the Twitter hoax: “Whoever made that stupid fake tweet lacks respect to the loss the world is mourning right now.” “Same goes for all the blogs who ran with it.” In the wee hours Friday morning, Hilton was still ticked off, tweeting, “I’m so sick of people lying about me & using my name . Please get a life & stop talking about mine.” “It’s beyond. #URPathetic #GetYourOwnLife” Seriously … the girl makes a valid point. Who still talks about Paris Hilton these days? What is this, 2007? We knew Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man would be taking on Jamie Foxx’s Electro and Paul Giamatti’s Rhino, but the trailer has made a new revelation. A close examination of the fatal Paul Walker crash video showing the Porsche engulfed in flames reveals a shadowy image appearing to flail. As a result, speculation is swirling the image, seen roughly 23 seconds into the video, is the actor trying in vain to escape the motorized death trap. But does the video really show that? Or anything conclusive? Paul Walker Crash Law enforcement sources investigating Paul Walker’s cause of death say that the actor and his friend Roger Rodas never got out of their seats. Investigators are confident that driver Roger absolutely didn’t move and was killed on impact, whereas Paul died of thermal and traumatic injuries. Thus, the rumor that he’s still trying to get out in the video. Upon further examination, however, police sources say the image seen in video shot right after the crash is not Walker and not an escape attempt. As for what the image really is? Officials have watched the video, and based on evidence from the site, it appears to be a part of the car’s roof burning. Paul Walker Crash Video Paul Walker Car Crash Video Sources say that based on photos of the wreck, Paul’s body was pinned in an area of the car that makes it clear he couldn’t have been flailing outside it. Also, based on the injuries he suffered, investigators think Paul died very quickly after impact, and therefore it’s impossible that this is Walker. It’s not clear how long after impact the crash video starts, but clearly more than a few seconds, which is likely all it took for Walker to pass away. That’s fortunate in the sense that at least the 40-year-old star didn’t suffer as he might have had he survived half a minute in that towering inferno.
